In this paper, we present a real-time collaborative 3D tool which can modify a virtual reality world described by VRML in a network interactively and collaboratively. In the system, we can select and modify each object written in VRML on the display directly with a mouse. There need much time and endeavor for creating a 3D virtual scene until now. The system is intended to modify partially such the VR scenes generated by any other tools and to re-use it for other purposes. Any 3D scene can be modified Partially or totally if they have been described in VRML. We can insert a new object written in VRML, and modify or delete an object in the 3D space. We used a method of time and spatial synchronization for solving the conflict problem which can occur in such the collaborative work.

The objective the paper is to investigate the physical and mechanical properties of concrete incorporating mineral admixtures. For setting properties, at low curing temperature, setting time of concrete with mineral admixture is delayed compared with that of plain concrete. But, use of cement kiln dust(CKD) has a desirable effect on reducing setting retard under low curing temperature. For compressive strength, concrete with FA and BS have low strength at early stage compared with that of plain concrete under low curing temperature. However, the use of CKD resulted in an enhancement of compressive strength at early stage under low curing temperature, and exhibited a similar level of compressive strength with plain concrete. For this reason, use of CKD in cold weather concreting has positive effect on strength development at low curing temperature under early age.

In this paper, setting and strength development of cement mortar are discussed under various mineral admixture content and curing temperature. Setting time exhibited an increasing tendency with an increase in curing temperature. Under low curing temperature, use of CKD resulted in a reduction in setting retarding, whereas FA and BS retarded the setting time of cement mortar. For compressive strength, high curing temperature and age leaded to an increase in compressive strength of concrete. Under low curing temperature, the use of CKD resulted in an enhancement of compressive strength at early stage, and exhibited a similar level of compressive strength with plain concrete. For this reason, use of CKD in cold weather concreting has positive effect on strength development at low curing temperature under early age.

In the modern railway industry, huge amount of money is invested for the maintenance of the railway system on yearly basis, in which failures or faults in components and systems have always been a major problem. An effective, efficient and reliable maintenance is required to ensure the efficiency, reliability and safety for the railway vehicles and give a high-quality service to the passengers. This paper presents bogie fault detection by way of the condition monitoring of the bogie in a railway vehicle, which addresses the logics for the model-based condition monitoring of suspension system using an extended Kalman filter. The presented logic has been demonstrated by simulation studies.

<P>The aim of this study is to investigate the clinical outcomes of the elderly patients with Non ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) undergoing coronary artery bypass surgery (CABG) compared to non-elderly patients. Patients with NSTEMI and undergoing CABG (n=451) who were registered in the Korea Acute Myocardial Infarction Registry between December 2003 and August 2012 were divided into two groups.; the non-elderly group (<75 years, n=327) and the elderly group (≥75 years, n=124). In-hospital mortality was higher in the elderly group (4.9% vs. 11.3%, p=0.015), but cardiac death, myocardial infarction, and major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) including cardiac death, myocardial infarction, percutaneous revascularization, and redo-CABG after a one-year follow up were not different between the two groups. Predictors of in-hospital mortality in patients with NSTEMI undergoing CABG were left ventricular (LV) dysfunction (ejection fraction ≤40%) [hazard ratio (HR): 2.76, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.16–6.57, p=0.022] and age (HR: 1.05, 95% CI: 1.01–1.10, p=0.047). So elderly NSTEMI patients should be considered for CABG if appropriate, but careful consideration for surgery is required, especially if the patients have severe LV systolic dysfunction.</P>

현재 인터넷에서 멀티미디어 서비스를 제공하기 위한 방법으로 멀티미디어 정보를 검색할 수 있는 홈페이지를 구성할 수 있다. 이때 멀티미디어 처리를 가능하게 하기 위해선 CGI나 JAVA를 이용하여 HTML 문서를 작성해햐 할 것이다. 그러나, 멀티미디어의 시, 공간적 동기화 실현을 위해서는 HTML문서의 작성에 숙련되지 못한 일반 유저에게는 멀티미디어 정보 제작에 어려움이 따른다. 이러한 문제점 해결을 위해선 클라이언트/서버 환경에서 멀티미디어 응용 프로그램을 개발할 수 있는 멀티미디어 저작도구를 이용하는 방법을 생각할 수 있다. 이러한 저작도구를 인터넷 상에서 이용하기 위해선 저작도구의 플레이백 모듈이 유저의 웹브라우저 상에서 클라이언트로서 작동되어야 한다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 멀티미디어 저작도구의 플레이백 모듈을 인터넷상의 웹브라우저에서 구동시킬 수 있는 플러그인 프로그램을 설계하는 과정에 대해 설명하고 이와 관련된 문제점을 살펴본다.
