푸코-데리다의 광기 논쟁에 대한 ‘데리다적’ 독해 -「코기토와 광기의 역사」 다시 읽기-

김민호(Kim, Minho) 서울대학교 철학사상연구소 2021 철학사상 Vol.79 No.-

This article aims to complement Eunju Kim’s reading of “Cogito and the History of Madness,” oriented towards Foucault’s later works, by examining it in the light of Derrida’s early writings on Husserl’s thought, i.e. The Problem of Genesis in Husserl’s Philosophy and Introduction to Husserl’s Origin of Geometry. It argues that the basis of Foucault’s critique of Derrida’s interpretation of Meditations on First Philosophy, as reconstructed by Kim, is not far from that of Derrida’s own philosophy (II). From this viewpoint, Foucault’s critique is refuted in advance within the scope of “Cogito and the History of Madness” (III), which implies that, contrary to what Foucault and Kim believe, Derrida is the one who makes Descartes’ Meditations “an event worthy of its name” (IV).

Exploring the Microbial Community and Functional Characteristics of the Livestock Feces Using the Whole Metagenome Shotgun Sequencing

        Kim Hyeri,Kim Eun Sol,Cho Jin Ho,Song Minho,Cho Jae Hyoung,Kim Sheena,Keum Gi Beom,Kwak Jinok,Doo Hyunok,Pandey Sriniwas,Park Seung-Hwan,Lee Ju Huck,Hyunjung Jung,Hur Tai Young,Kim Jae-Kyung,Oh Kwang 한국미생물·생명공학회 2023 Journal of microbiology and biotechnology Vol.33 No.1

The foodborne illness is the important public health concerns, and the livestock feces are known to be one of the major reservoirs of foodborne pathogens. Also, it was reported that 45.5% of foodborne illness outbreaks have been associated with the animal products contaminated with the livestock feces. In addition, it has been known that the persistence of a pathogens depends on many potential virulent factors including the various virulent genes. Therefore, the first step to understanding the public health risk of livestock feces is to identify and describe microbial communities and potential virulent genes that contribute to bacterial pathogenicity. We used the whole metagenome shotgun sequencing to evaluate the prevalence of foodborne pathogens and to characterize the virulence associated genes in pig and chicken feces. Our data showed that the relative abundance of potential foodborne pathogens, such as Bacillus cereus was higher in chickens than pigs at the species level while the relative abundance of foodborne pathogens including Campylobacter coli was only detected in pigs. Also, the microbial functional characteristics of livestock feces revealed that the gene families related to “Biofilm formation and quorum sensing” were highly enriched in pigs than chicken. Moreover, the variety of gene families associated with “Resistance to antibiotics and toxic compounds” were detected in both animals. These results will help us to prepare the scientific action plans to improve awareness and understanding of the public health risks of livestock feces.

Ultrareliable and Low-Latency Communication Techniques for Tactile Internet Services

        Kim, Kwang Soon,Kim, Dong Ku,Chae, Chan-Byoung,Choi, Sunghyun,Ko, Young-Chai,Kim, Jonghyun,Lim, Yeon-Geun,Yang, Minho,Kim, Sundo,Lim, Byungju,Lee, Kwanghoon,Ryu, Kyung Lin IEEE 2019 Proceedings of the Institute of Electrical and Ele Vol.107 No.2

<P>This paper presents novel ultrareliable and low-latency communication (URLLC) techniques for URLLC services, such as Tactile Internet services. Among typical use cases of URLLC services are teleoperation, immersive virtual reality, cooperative automated driving, and so on. In such URLLC services, new kinds of traffic such as haptic information including kinesthetic information and tactile information need to be delivered in addition to high-quality video and audio traffic in traditional multimedia services. Furthermore, such a variety of traffic has various characteristics in terms of packet sizes and data rates with a variety of requirements of latency and reliability. Furthermore, some traffic may occur in a sporadic manner but requires reliable delivery of packets of medium to large sizes within a low latency, which is not supported by current state-of-the-art wireless communication systems and is very challenging for future wireless communication systems. Thus, to meet such a variety of tight traffic requirements in a wireless communication system, novel technologies from the physical layer to the network layer need to be devised. In this paper, some novel physical layer technologies such as waveform multiplexing, multiple-access scheme, channel code design, synchronization, and full-duplex transmission for spectrally efficient URLLC are introduced. In addition, a novel performance evaluation approach, which combines a ray-tracing tool and system-level simulation, is suggested for evaluating the performance of the proposed schemes. Simulation results show the feasibility of the proposed schemes providing realistic URLLC services in realistic geographical environments, which encourages further efforts to substantiate the proposed work.</P>

Transforming Growth Factor-β-Induced RBFOX3 Inhibition Promotes Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition of Lung Cancer Cells

Kim, Yong-Eun,Kim, Jong Ok,Park, Ki-Sun,Won, Minho,Kim, Kyoon Eon,Kim, Kee K. Korean Society for Molecular and Cellular Biology 2016 Molecules and cells Vol.39 No.8

The RNA-binding protein Rbfox3 is a well-known splicing regulator that is used as a marker for post-mitotic neurons in various vertebrate species. Although recent studies indicate a variable expression of Rbfox3 in non-neuronal tissues, including lung tissue, its cellular function in lung cancer remains largely unknown. Here, we report that the number of RBFOX3-positive cells in tumorous lung tissue is lower than that in normal lung tissue. As the transforming growth factor-${\beta}$ (TGF-${\beta}$) signaling pathway is important in cancer progression, we investigated its role in RBFOX3 expression in A549 lung adenocarcinoma cells. TGF-${\beta}1$ treatment inhibited RBFOX3 expression at the transcriptional level. Further, RBFOX3 depletion led to a change in the expression levels of a subset of proteins related to epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), such as E-cadherin and Claudin-1, during TGF-${\beta}1$-induced EMT. In immunofluorescence microscopic analysis, mesenchymal morphology was more prominent in RBFOX3-depleted cells than in control cells. These findings show that TGF-${\beta}$-induced RBFOX3 inhibition plays an important role in EMT and propose a novel role for RBFOX3 in cancer progression.

Development and validation of an LC-MS/MS method for determination of compound K in human plasma and clinical application

        Kim, Jung Soo,Kim, Yunjeong,Han, Song-Hee,Jeon, Ji-Young,Hwang, Minho,Im, Yong-Jin,Kim, Jung Hyun,Lee, Sun Young,Chae, Soo-Wan,Kim, Min-Gul The Korean Society of Ginseng 2013 Journal of Ginseng Research Vol.37 No.1

A rapid, sensitive and selective analytical method was developed and validated for the determination of compound K, a major intestinal bacterial metabolite of ginsenosides in human plasma. Liquid-liquid extraction was used for sample preparation and analysis, followed by liquid chromatography tandem spectrometric analysis and an electrospray-ionization interface. Compound K was analyzed on a Phenomenex Luna C18 column ($100{\times}2.00$ mm, 3 ${\mu}m$) with the mobile phase run isocratically with 10 mM ammonium acetate-methanol-acetonitrile (5:47.5:47.5, v/v/v) at a flow rate of 0.5 mL/min. The method was validated for accuracy (relative error <12.63%), precision (coefficient of variation <9.14%), linearity, and recovery. The assay was linear over the entire range of calibration standards i.e., a concentration range of 1 ng/mL to 1,000 ng/mL ($r^2$ >0.9968). The recoveries of compound K after liquid-liquid extraction at 1, 2, 400, and 800 ng/mL were $106.00{\pm}0.08%$, $103.50{\pm}0.19%$, $111.45{\pm}5.21%$, and $89.62{\pm}34.46%$ for intra-day and $85.40{\pm}0.08%$, $94.50{\pm}0.09%$, $112.50{\pm}5.21%$, and $95.87{\pm}34.46%$ for inter-day, respectively. The lower limit of quantification of the analytical method of compound K was 1 ng/mL in human plasma. The developed method was successfully applied to a pharmacokinetic study of compound K after oral administration in ten of healthy human subjects.

As the interest on the air pollution is gradually rising up at home and abroad, automotive and fuel researchers have been working on the exhaust emission reduction from vehicles through a lot of approaches, which consist of new engine design, innovative after-treatment systems, using clean (eco-friendly alternative) fuels and fuel quality improvement. This research has brought forward two main issues : exhaust emission and PM particle emissions of gasoline vehicle. Exhaust emission and PM(particulate matter) particle of automotive had many problem that cause of ambient pollution, health effects. The main particulate fraction of automotive exhaust emission consists of small particles. Because of their small size, inhaled particles may easily penetrate deep into the lungs. The rough surfaces of these particles make it easy for them to bind with other toxins in the environment, thus increasing the hazards of particle inhalation. Based on the oxygenated fuel types (MTBE, Bio-ETBE, Bio-ethanol, Bio-butanol), this paper discussed the influence of oxygen contents on gasoline vehicle exhaust and nano-particle emissions. Also, this paper assessed exhaust emission characteristics using 2 type test mode. The test modes were CVS-75 and HWFET mode.

Proteomic analysis for the effects of non-saponin fraction with rich polysaccharide from Korean Red Ginseng on Alzheimer's disease in a mouse model

        Sujin Kim,Yunkwon Nam,Min-jeong Kim,Seung-hyun Kwon,Junhyeok Jeon,Soo Jung Shin,Soyoon Park,Sungjae Chang,Hyun Uk Kim,Yong Yook Lee,Hak Su Kim,Minho Moon The Korean Society of Ginseng 2023 Journal of Ginseng Research Vol.47 No.2

Background: The most common type of dementia, Alzheimer's disease (AD), is marked by the formation of extracellular amyloid beta (Aβ) plaques. The impairments of axons and synapses appear in the process of Aβ plaques formation, and this damage could cause neurodegeneration. We previously reported that non-saponin fraction with rich polysaccharide (NFP) from Korean Red Ginseng (KRG) showed neuroprotective effects in AD. However, precise molecular mechanism of the therapeutic effects of NFP from KRG in AD still remains elusive. Methods: To investigate the therapeutic mechanisms of NFP from KRG on AD, we conducted proteomic analysis for frontal cortex from vehicle-treated wild-type, vehicle-treated 5XFAD mice, and NFP-treated 5XFAD mice by using nano-LC-ESI-MS/MS. Metabolic network analysis was additionally performed as the effects of NFP appeared to be associated with metabolism according to the proteome analysis. Results: Starting from 5,470 proteins, 2,636 proteins were selected for hierarchical clustering analysis, and finally 111 proteins were further selected for protein-protein interaction network analysis. A series of these analyses revealed that proteins associated with synapse and mitochondria might be linked to the therapeutic mechanism of NFP. Subsequent metabolic network analysis via genome-scale metabolic models that represent the three mouse groups showed that there were significant changes in metabolic fluxes of mitochondrial carnitine shuttle pathway and mitochondrial beta-oxidation of polyunsaturated fatty acids. Conclusion: Our results suggested that the therapeutic effects of NFP on AD were associated with synaptic- and mitochondrial-related pathways, and they provided targets for further rigorous studies on precise understanding of the molecular mechanism of NFP.
