마그네슘합금의 산화저항성에 미치는 산화칼슘 첨가의 영향

Due to excellent properties such as high specific strength and low density, application of magnesium alloys have been rapidly increased. However, magnesium alloy has a serious problem that is easily oxidized when exposed to high-temperature. For this reason, magnesium alloys have been generally used for SF6 gas such as protective cover gas in casting and melting, but it has been reported that this gas has a serious influence on global warming. Therefore, many researchers have been studied to improve the oxidation resistance of magnesium alloy. It was reported that addition of Be, Ca and CaO in magnesium alloy can improve the oxidation properties. In this study, the possibility of improving the oxidation resistance by adding CaO extracted from oyster shells was investigated. Oyster shells were completely decomposed into CaO and CO2 by annealing. With the addition of CaO, a coexistence region of MgO + CaO was formed in the oxide layer and its thickness was also reduced. (Received May 14, 2020; Revised May 20, 2020; Accepted May 25, 2020)

In this paper, we design IPMSM to improve the EOP system for HEV transmission cooling. The improvements are miniaturization and high output. Pole · slot combination, shape of core, supply voltage, and demagnetization were considered in the design. Test bed was constructed to verify the performance of the designed IPMSM. It was confirmed that the IPMSM was designed as intended.
Value of spray-dried plasma as a supplement to swine diets
Jang, Kibeom,Kim, Junsu,Kim, Sheena,Jang, Yoontack,Lee, Jeongjae,Kim, Younghwa,Park, Juncheol,Kim, Younghoon,Song, Minho Institute of Agricultural Science 2016 Korean Journal of Agricultural Science Vol.41 No.2
One of the most powerful health management practices is the use of antibiotics, but their use is being restricted because of health safety issues. The swine industry has been looking for various alternatives to antibiotics and increasingly considers the use of dietary factors like feed ingredients, feed additives, feed formulation practices, or feeding methods, instead of using antibiotics to improve pig health and performance. Among other alternatives to antibiotics, spray-dried plasma may be a candidate. Spray-dried plasma is a blood product that provides bioavailable nutrients and physiologically active components such as immunoglobulins, glycoproteins, growth factors, peptides, etc. It is an excellent protein source with balanced and highly digestible amino acids. Several beneficial physiological activities depend on components of spray-dried plasma, such as immune competence (antibacterial activity), modulation of microbiota and/or immune system, integrity of intestinal barrier function, etc. These beneficial effects can contribute to improvement of pig performance and health by modulation of microbiota in the digestive tract and/or immune system. Therefore, it is suggested that spray-dried plasma has great potential as an antibiotics alternative.

We prepared a nonchiral mixture of achiral bent-core molecules and photoresponsive rodlike liquid crystalline (LC) molecules. With the help of the isothermal photochemical nematic (N)-isotropic (Iso) phase transition of the photoresponsive rodlike LC molecules, the corresponding phase transition from a dark conglomerate BX phase to another distinguishable dark conglomerate B4 phase took place in the mixture. A large circular dichroism (CD) signal originating from supramolecular chirality was detected in the initial BX phase. On the other hand, the detected CD signal was decreased in the B4 phase after UV irradiation. Interestingly, the decreased CD signal could be reverted to the initial CD signal with visible irradiation. This chiroptical process revealed in this work was stable and reversible and thus opens up the possibility of practical applications such as rewritable optical storage.

Graphic Abstract

ACS Electronic Supporting Info

An Improved 100 GHz Equivalent Circuit Model of a Through Silicon Via With Substrate Current Loop
Kibeom Kim,Karam Hwang,Seungyoung Ahn IEEE 2016 IEEE microwave and wireless components letters Vol.26 No.6

This letter presents a new wideband equivalent circuit model for through silicon via (TSV) with consideration of the effective substrate current loop in silicon substrate and proximity effect on the currents in the TSV. The proposed model can accurately predict the electrical performance of the TSV at wide frequency range. The proposed model correlates well up to 100 GHz when compared to the full-wave electromagnetic simulation.
