This paper describes the preliminary measurements of the precise comparison between a radiation thermometer and a platinum resistance thermometer (PRT). The aim of this work is to measure the resistance -temperature relation of standard platinum resistance thermometers at temperatures above the present upper limit (961.78??C) of PRTs. The comparison furnace is placed in horizontal orientation, and a graphite block is placed in the center as acomparison block. In this paper, preliminary measurement results for the evaluation of the uncertainty in the comparisonmeasurement are reported. First, the results of the comparison using the design configuration determined in our previouspaper are reported. Upon the measurements of three independent experimental rounds, we suspected that the design of the comparison block needed some improvements. We re-designed the comparison block, and also report the comparison results obtained using this improved version.

We have developed a new tracking system of jaw movement. The system consists of two permanent NdFeB magnets and 32 elements of two-axial fluxgate sensor array. The two magnets are attached to head portion and front tooth. This system does not need any attachments of the head portion or mouth such as clutch or magnetic field sensor except magnets. The proposed system is applicable for five degree of freedom. Position accuracy within 2㎜ was achieved. We developed a 3D computer input device by using the above mentioned technique.

<P>A vibration isolation system called the Type-Bp system used for power recycling mirrors has been developed for KAGRA, the interferometric gravitational-wave observatory in Japan. A suspension of the Type-Bp system passively isolates an optic from seismic vibration using three main pendulum stages equipped with two vertical vibration isolation systems. A compact reaction mass around each of the main stages allows for achieving sufficient damping performance with a simple feedback as well as vibration isolation ratio. Three Type-Bp systems were installed in KAGRA, and were proved to satisfy the requirements on the damping performance, and also on estimated residual displacement of the optics.</P>
DISTRIBUTION OF FUEL MASS AFTER WALL IMPINGEMENT OF DIESEL SPRAY

Investigation on the fuel adhering on a wall was carried out experimentally to clarify the characteristics of impinging diesel sprays. Diesel sprays were injected into a high-pressure chamber of cold state and impinged to a wall having various impingement distances and ambient pressures. Photographs of both the fuel film and the post-impingement spray were taken through a transparent wall. Adhered fuel mass on a wall was measured by means of dividing into two types of fuel state: the fuel film itself; and sparsely adhered fuel droplets. Adhering fuel ratio was predicted and further the distribution of fuel mass for impinging diesel spray was analyzed as a function of time. As result, with an increase of the ambient pressure, both the maximum fuel film diameter and the adhered fuel ratio decreased. Based on some assumptions, the adhering fuel mass increased rapidly until the fuel film diameter approached the maximum value, and then increased comparatively gradually.
