        AN ITERATIVE ALGORITHM FOR SOLVING THE LEAST-SQUARES PROBLEM OF MATRIX EQUATION AXB+CYD=E

        In this paper, an iterative method is proposed to solve the least-squares problem of matrix equation AXB+CYD=E over unknown matrix pair [X, Y]. By this iterative method, for any initial matrix pair [$X_1,\;Y_1$], a solution pair or the least-norm least-squares solution pair of which can be obtained within finite iterative steps in the absence of roundoff errors. In addition, we also consider the optimal approximation problem for the given matrix pair [$X_0,\;Y_0$] in Frobenius norm. Given numerical examples show that the algorithm is efficient.

        For the recent few years civil and commercial transactions between China and Korea have increased rapidly. As a result, Korea-related civil and commercial relationship occupies an important portion in China’s international relationship. The problem of jurisdiction is a very important issue. Differences in the principles for determining jurisdiction give rise to jurisdictional conflicts, which result in differences in applicable law and judgment, and then give rise to difficulties in recognition and enforcement of judgments. These difficult questions are difficult to resolve for a sole country. Therefore, mutual coordination is necessary for China and Korea regarding jurisdictional problems.

      • Curdione Inhibits Proliferation of MCF-7 Cells by Inducing Apoptosis

        Background: Curdione, one of the major components of Curcuma zedoaria, has been reported to possess various biological activities. It thus might be a candidate anti-flammatory and cancer chemopreventive agent. However, the precise molecular mechanisms of action of curdione on cancer cells are still unclear. In this study, we investigated the effect of curdione on breast cancer. Materials and Methods: Xenograft nude mice were used to detect the effect of curdione on breast cancer in vivo; we also tested the effect of curdione on breast cancer in vitro by MTT, Flow cytometry, JC-I assay, and western blot. Results: Firstly, we found that curdione significantly suppressed tumor growth in a xenograft nude mouse breast tumor model in a dose-dependent manner. In addition, curdione treatment inhibited cell proliferation and induced cell apoptosis. Moreover, after curdione treatment, increase of impaired mitochondrial membrane potential occurred in a concentration dependent manner. Furthermore, the expression of apoptosis-related proteins including cleaved caspase-3, caspase-9 and Bax was increased in curdione treatment groups, while the expression of the anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 was decreased. Inhibitors of caspase-3 were used to confirm that curdione induced apoptosis. Conclusions: Overall, our observations first suggested that curdione inhibited the proliferation of breast cancer cells by inducing apoptosis. These results might provide some molecular basis for the anti-cancer activity of curdione.

        본 연구는 한국인 모어화자와 중국인 한국어 학습자의 위로 화행 양상과 그 특징을 알아보고 그 결과를 통하여 실제 한국인 모어화자의 위로 화행을 제시하고자 한다. 본고에서는 한국인 모어화자 30명과 중국인 한국어 학습자 60명을 대상으로 DCT(담화완성형 테스트)조사를 시행하였다. 두 집단의 위로 화행 양상을 상황유형별, 사회적 변인별로 살펴보고 각 상황별 한국인 모어화자의 주요 표현을 제시하였다. 두 집단은 상황 유형과 사회적 변인에 따라 전략과 언어표현에 유의미한 차이를 보였다. A집단인 한국인 모어화자는 상황유형과 사회적 변인별로 전략을 달리 사용하였다. 그러나 B집단인 중국인 한국어 학습자는 어떤 상황에서나 쉽게 사용할 수 있는 ``걱정하지 마/괜찮아``와 같은 단순표현을 집중적으로 사용하거나 모국어의 화행을 그대로 직역하여 사용하는 화용적 실패가 나타났다. 또한 사회적 변인에서 친소관계에 따라 전략을 달리 사용하였으나 지위관계에서는 전략 사용에서는 유의미한 차이를 나타나지 않았다. 그러므로 중국인 한국어 학습자들에게 실제 모어화자가 상황과 사회적 변인에 따라 많이 사용하는 위로 표현을 교육할 필요가 있다. The goal of this study is to explore comfort speech acts and features both of Korean native speakers and Chinese learners of Korean, and to provide information about Korean speaker use comfort speech acts in actuality. The this study conducted DCT(Discourse Completion Test) research with subjects of 30 Korean native speakers and 60 Chinese learners of Korean. It addressed the features of two groups`` comfort speech acts according to situation types, social variables and presented main expressions of Korean native speakers each situation. There were meaningful differences of strategies and language expressions between two groups in accordance with situation types, social variables. Korean native speakers of A group used various strategies each situation type and social variable. But Chinese learners of Korean, B group, intensively used simple expressions like ``Don``t worry/All right`` which speakers can speak easily any situation or used by translating the speech acts of mother tongue as they are so pragmatic failures appeared. Also in social variables, speakers used different strategies according to the intimacy relation but there are no meaningful differences of the strategy use in status relations. Therefore, Chinese learners of Korean need to learn expressions which are used a lot each situation and social variable by actual native speakers.

        New Amide N-glycosides of Ansamitocins Identified from Actinosynnema pretiosum

        By using preparative TLC as the critical isolation procedure, two compounds, including one new amide N-glycosides of ansamitocin (2), were isolated from Actinosynnema pretiosum. The compounds were elucidated as N-demethyl-N-β-D-glucopyranosyl ansamitocin P-2, named ansamitocinoside P-2 (1), and N-demethyl-N-β-D-glucopyranosyl ansamitocin P-1, named ansamitocinoside P-1 (2) on the basis of their spectral data. The 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR assignments were made for 1 and 2 while the 13C-NMR assignment for 1 was revised. Bioassay results showed that 1 had antineoplastic activity.

        Enhanced photoelectric properties of n-ZnO NWs/p-Si heterojunction LEDs by inserting an insulating MgO layer using sol-gel method

        ZnO nanowires (ZnO NWs) were synthesized by hydrothermal method on Si (100) substrates, in which an insulating MgOlayer deposited using sol–gel method was inserted between the seed layer and Si substrate. The eff ects of MgO layer on themicrostructure, luminescence and electrical properties of ZnO NWs as well as n-ZnO NWs/p-Si heterojunction LEDs wereinvestigated. With the insertion of MgO layer, well-aligned ZnO NWs with good crystalline quality are obtained, which canbe attributed to the smooth seed layer with homogeneous globular particles. The electroluminescence spectra of n-ZnO NWs/MgO/p-Si heterojunction LEDs exhibit a broad emission band from near ultraviolet to yellow-green region. n-ZnO NWs/MgO/p-Si heterojunction also shows an enhanced ultraviolet photoluminescence effi ciency, and its defect-related visibleemission is greatly suppressed compared with that of n-ZnO NWs/p-Si heterojunction. The current–voltage curves of bothheterojunction LEDs present a typical rectifying behavior, but the rectifi cation ratio increases almost 5 times by insertingMgO layer, which is ascribed to a reduction in the leakage current under reverse bias voltage.

        Fructus mume Protects Against Cigarette Smoke Induced Chronic Cough Guinea Pig

        Fructus mume was recorded in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia and traditional Chinese medical books for chronic cough, but the effect and related constituents are still unknown. Thus, we investigated the protect effects and the relevant constituents of F. mume in a guinea pig model with chronic cough induced by cigarette smoke (CS). The organic acids and polysaccharides in F. mume were detected by high performance liquid chromatography, gel permeation chromatography, and gas chromatography–mass spectrometry. The guinea pigs were orally administered with vehicle or the water extract of Fructus mume (FW) during the 14 days of CS exposure. Citric acid induced coughs were automatically measured by Buxco system. The differential cells in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) and histopathological changes in lung tissue were assessed by hematoxylin and eosin staining. The tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and interleukin-8 (IL-8) levels in lung tissue were detected via enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The mucus productions in tracheas were determined with Alcian blue-periodic acid Schiff staining. The results suggested relatively high concentration of citric acid, chlorogenic acid, and neochlorogenic acid in F. mume, and high proportion of galactose and glucose and lower molecular weight of polysaccharides. Administration of FW significantly reduced the cough frequency, decreased inflammatory cells in BALF and lung tissue, and attenuated the thickening of airway epithelium and submucosa compared with CS-exposure group. Moreover, the overproduction of TNF-α and IL-8 in lung tissues, and mucus in central airways of CS-induced guinea pigs was markedly inhibited by FW. The extract could also protect against CS exposure-induced chronic cough in guinea pigs by reducing coughs, airway inflammation, and mucus overproduction.

        Proteomic Analysis of Salt Stress Responses in Rice Shoot

        To gain a better understanding of the mechanism of rice (Oryza sativa L.) in response to salt stress, we performed a proteomics analysis of rice in response to 250 mM NaCl treatment using shoots of 3-day-old nascent seedlings. The changes of protein patterns were monitored with two-dimensional gel electrophoresis. Of 57 protein spots showing changes in abundance in response to salt stress, 52 were identified by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry. The identified proteins were classified into eight functional categories. Several novel salt stress-responsive proteins, including protein synthesis inhibitor I, photosystem II stability/assembly factor HCF136, trigger factor-like protein and cycloartenol-C24-methyltransferase are upregulated upon salt stress. In order to figure out the different and similar molecular mechanism among salt and other stresses,regulation of some salt responsive proteins under other abiotic stress (cold and dehydration) and abscisic acid application was also analyzed. The possible molecular mechanism of rice seedlings in response to salinity and other stresses were discussed.
