La pervivencia del héroe: los libros de caballería y las historietas de superhéroes
Jose Maria Contreras Espuny 부산외국어대학교 중남미지역원 2015 이베로아메리카 Vol.17 No.2
The aim of this essay is to light up the real relationship between the Spanish cavalry novel in the 16th century and the comic strip about superheroes in the 20th century in USA. Comparing the archetypes, the historic context and the narratological elements, it will be demonstrated the close kinship of both as fruit of similar historic circumstances. We will start comparing Amadís de Gaula and Superman in order to see the origin of both genres, and we will end with the analysis of the decline of the Spanish cavalry, mainly in the Quixote, as well as the possible quixotic attempt which would be in the American comic.

Bifidobacterial proteins have been widely studiedto elucidate the metabolic mechanisms of diet adaptationand survival of Bifidobacteria, among others. The use ofheterologous expression systems to obtain proteins in sufficientquantities to be characterized has been essential inthese studies. L. lactis and the same Bifidobacterium asexpression systems highlight ways to corroborate some ofthe functions attributed to these proteins. The most studiedproteins are enzymes related to carbohydrate metabolism, particularly glycosidases, due to their potential applicationin the synthesis of neoglycoconjugates, prebioticneooligosaccharides, and active metabolites as well as theirhigh specificity and efficiency in processing glycoconjugates. In this review, we classified the recombinant bifidobacterialproteins reported to date whose characterizationhas demonstrated their usefulness or their ability to producea product of commercial interest for the food industry, biomedicine, process innovation and glycobiology. Futuredirections for their study are also discussed.

The MIM technology is an alternative process for fabricating near net shape components that usually uses gas atomised powders with small size (< 20 μm) and spherical shape. In this work, the possibility of changing partially or totally spherical powder by an irregular and/or coarse one that is cheaper than the former was investigated. In this way, different bronze 90/10 components were fabricated by mixing three different types of powder, gas and water atomised with different particle sizes, in order to evaluate how the particle shape and size affect the MIM process.

arched for standards in teacher competency for the different economies in the Asia-Pacific region. We found information about them in several documents contained in the UNESCO and in the Ministry of Education of each economy. After that, we looked for common strategies to propose a model for teacher training with ICT and in the use and introduction of ICT in schools. We found that there are a lot of commonalities, specifically that teachers should be competent in a variety of software and technological tools appropriated to the topic they teach and the students 'age, assess the software and technological tools relevant to the topic they teach and their potential to be used in class, use the computers in a constructive way and to prepare and utilize work plans that incorporate the use of technology. But despite all the advances and recommendations about ICT introduction in teacher training, we still lack a common model that allows us to exchange and share information regarding this issue, even within the Asia-Pacific region. We tried to put these competencies in one single place so that people can access and consider them in developing a teacher training or ICT introduction to classrooms programs.
New Eruptive YSOs from SPICY and WISE
Carlos Contreras Peña,Mizna Ashraf,이정은,Gregory Herczeg,Phil Lucas,Zhen Guo,Doug Johnstone,이호규,Jessy Jose 한국천문학회 2023 Journal of The Korean Astronomical Society Vol.56 No.2
This work presents four high-amplitude variable YSOs (≃3~mag at near- or mid-IR wavelengths) arising from the SPICY catalog. Three outbursts show a duration that is longer than 1 year, and are still ongoing. And additional YSO brightened over the last two epochs of NEOWISE observations and the duration of the outburst is thus unclear. Analysis of the spectra of the four sources confirms them as new members of the eruptive variable class. We find two YSOs that can be firmly classified as bona fide FUors and one object that falls in the V1647 Ori-like class. Given the uncertainty in the duration of its outburst, an additional YSO can only be classified as a candidate FUor. Continued monitoring and follow-up of these particular sources is important to better understand the accretion process of YSOs.

This study was performed to investigate the effect of Agave tequilana Weber inulin on postprandial ghrelin levels in obese patients. A randomized, double-blind, cross-over design was performed. A total of 14 patients were allocated into two groups: one group received a drink that contained 500 mL lemon water, 24 g of A. tequilana Weber inulin, and 75 g glucose and the other group received a placebo drink with 500 mL lemon drink and 75 g of glucose. After a 7-day washout period, the groups were crossed. The primary outcome measure was postprandial ghrelin levels between minute 240 and minute 270. A. tequilana Weber inulin did not change postprandial ghrelin concentration in obese patients.

Mojarra of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) skeleton was used as protein source for the preparation of protein hydrolysates and peptide fractions with angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitory activity. The flour presented a content of 34.92% protein and a brightness (luminosity, L*) of 82.29. Protein hydrolysates were obtained from the protein-rich flour with the enzymes Flavourzyme® and Alcalase® reaching degree of hydrolysis (%DH) of 52% and 67% at 100 min of reaction, respectively. Both hydrolysates showed low-molecular-weight (MW) peptides estimated by sodium dodecyl sulfate–polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The hydrolysates obtained with Flavourzyme at 60 min and at 80 min with Alcalase showed greater ACE inhibitory activity with IC50 values of 0.238 and 0.344 mg/mL, respectively. The peptide fraction A (MW >10 kDa) with Flavourzyme and fraction B (MW = 10–5 kDa) with Alcalase obtained by ultrafiltration of hydrolysates with higher DH presented IC50 of 0.728 and 0.354 mg/mL, respectively, whereas peptide fraction C (MW = 5–3 kDa) with both enzymes hydrolysates with greater ACE inhibitory activity showed IC50 values of 0.470 and 0.634 mg/mL. The components obtained in this study could be used as functional ingredients in the design and development of functional foods.

This report describes the molecular characterization of the Tc8.2 gene of Trypanosoma cruzi. Both the Tc8.2 gene and its encoded protein were analyzed by bioinformatics, while Northern blot and RT-PCR were used for the transcripts. Besides, immunolocalization of recombinant protein was done by immunofluorescence and electron microscopy. Analysis indicated the presence of a single copy of Tc8.2 in the T. cruzi genome and 2-different sized transcripts in epimastigotes/amastigotes and trypomastigotes. Immunoblotting showed 70 and 80 kDa polypeptides in epimastigotes and trypomastigotes, respectively, and a differential pattern of immunolocalization. Overall, the results suggest that Tc8.2 is differentially expressed during the T. cruzi life cycle.

Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. michiganesis (Cmm) is a quarantine-worthy pest in $M{\acute{e}}xico$. The implementation and validation of new technologies is necessary to reduce the time for bacterial detection in laboratory conditions and Raman spectroscopy is an ambitious technology that has all of the features needed to characterize and identify bacteria. Under controlled conditions a contagion process was induced with Cmm, the disease epidemiology was monitored. Micro-Raman spectroscopy ($532nm\;{\lambda}$ laser) technique was evaluated its performance at assisting on Cmm detection through its characteristic Raman spectrum fingerprint. Our experiment was conducted with tomato plants in a completely randomized block experimental design (13 plants ${\times}$ 4 rows). The Cmm infection was confirmed by 16S rDNA and plants showed symptoms from 48 to 72 h after inoculation, the evolution of the incidence and severity on plant population varied over time and it kept an aggregated spatial pattern. The contagion process reached 79% just 24 days after the epidemic was induced. Micro-Raman spectroscopy proved its speed, efficiency and usefulness as a non-destructive method for the preliminary detection of Cmm. Carotenoid specific bands with wavelengths at 1146 and $1510cm^{-1}$ were the distinguishable markers. Chemometric analyses showed the best performance by the implementation of PCA-LDA supervised classification algorithms applied over Raman spectrum data with 100% of performance in metrics of classifiers (sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, negative and positive predictive value) that allowed us to differentiate Cmm from other endophytic bacteria (Bacillus and Pantoea). The unsupervised KMeans algorithm showed good performance (100, 96, 98, 91 y 100%, respectively).
