Education Policy Using Cultural Heritage in China
( Joonho Jeong ) 인천대학교 사회과학연구원 2012 사회과학연구 Vol.2 No.-
China has rich heritage, yet its social consciousness about cultural heritage is still low in general, and the education to protect and utilize the cultural heritage is still inadequate. Thus, the implementation of systematic education about cultural heritage and enhancing social consciousness about cultural heritage has emerged as urgent policy challenges, and China, then is involved in various efforts to resolve these issues. The goals that the Chinese government wants to realize through the education of cultural heritage are the dissemination of knowledge on cultural heritage, the improvement of the consciousness about the protection of cultural heritage, and the patriotic education. When looking into the resulting cultural heritage education in China, the following characteristics can be found. First, the cultural heritage education is being promoted under the strong leadership of the Chinese government. Second, the cultural heritage education is an important means for the patriotic education. Third, the target of the cultural heritage education is being expanded.

Background/Aims: Tenofovir alafenamide (TAF) has shown less favorable effect on lipids compared to tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF) in clinical trials. However, data regarding these outcomes in patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) are scarce. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the effect of TAF on the lipid in patients with CHB. Methods: A total of 237 TAF-treated CHB patients compared with TDF, inactive CHB, and non-hepatitis B virus (HBV)- infected control groups using propensity score matching (PSM). Results: Following PSM, each analysis was conducted on cohorts via the matching of 70:140 (TAF:TDF), 89:89 (TAF:inactive CHB), 140:560 (TAF:non-HBV infected control), and 368:1,472 (TDF:non-HBV-infected control). A significant decrease in the total cholesterol (TC) level was noted at 48 weeks in the TDF group compared to the TAF group (176.3±32.9 vs. 156.7±27.7, P<0.001) and the non-HBV-infected control group (175.0±29.5 vs. 156.2±28.3, P<0.001). However, no significant change in TC was observed in the TAF group and inactive CHB or non-HBV-infected control groups at 48 weeks. For the subgroup analyses of TAF vs. non-HBV-infected control subjects and inactive CHB patients whose detailed lipid profile information were available, no between-group differences in TC, low-density lipoprotein (LDL)-cholesterol, highdensity lipoprotein (HDL)-cholesterol, TC/HDL ratio, and LDL/HDL ratio were observed at 48 weeks. Conclusions: TDF seems to have a lipid-lowering effect compared to the non-HBV-infected control and TAF-treated groups. However, in real practice, TAF might not worsen the lipid profiles of subjects compared to non-HBV-infected controls and patients with inactive CHB.
Polycystic liver disease: an overview of clinical manifestations, diagnosis, and treatment
Joonho Jeong,박현준 고신대학교(의대) 고신대학교 의과대학 학술지 2023 고신대학교 의과대학 학술지 Vol.38 No.2
Polycystic liver disease (PLD) is a hereditary disease characterized by the presence of 20 or more liver cysts. It is classified into three types: isolated autosomal dominant PLD, PLD with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease, and PLD with autosomal recessive polycystic kidney disease. Genetic alterations, ciliary dysfunction of the biliary epithelial cells, and aberrant cell signaling pathways are the main factors contributing to the pathophysiology of PLD; however, other complicated mechanisms are also involved. The Gigot and Schnelldorfer classifications are widely used in clinical practice. Most patients with PLD are asymptomatic; however, a few patients with advanced-stage disease may develop symptoms and complications that impair their quality of life and require treatment. The known treatment options for PLD are somatostatin analogues, aspiration with sclerotherapy, fenestration, hepatic resection, and liver transplantation. Although liver transplantation remains the only curative treatment for PLD, medical therapies are gradually being developed with the increasing knowledge of the disease’s pathophysiology. This review focuses on the clinical manifestations and diagnosis of PLD, as well as treatment strategies, to support clinicians regarding the clinical management of the disease.
A cross-sectional analysis of composite beams based on asymptotic framework
Joonho Jeong,김준식,강연준,조맹효 대한기계학회 2012 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.26 No.1
This paper presents the accurate prediction of static behavior of composite beams with arbitrary cross-sections. The asymptotic recursive formulation is reviewed first, where the initial three-dimensional problems are split into the macroscopic 1D problems and the microscopic 2D problems. The finite element formulation for the microscopic 2D problems is then presented in order to find the crosssectional warping solutions. The warping solutions obtained contribute the cross-sectional properties to the macroscopic 1D problems. The end effect of the 1D beam problem is also considered via the kinematic correction for a displacement prescribed boundary. The approach presented is applied to the beams with relatively complicated material distributions and cross-sectional geometry. As numerical test-beds, a three-layered sandwich beam and a composite beam with the multi-cell cross-section are taken to analyze the local deformation. A parametric study is also carried out to investigate the significance of shear deformation due to the cross-sectional orthotropic characteristics. The cross-sectional deformation is predicted based on the asymptotic framework. The accuracy of the present approach is assessed by comparing the results obtained with the 3D FEM solutions obtained by ANSYS.
S-91 Effect of Rebamipide, Sucralfate and Rifaximin on Radiation Intestinal Injury in Mouse
( Joonho Jeong ),( Won Moon ),( Seun Ja Park ),( Moo In Park ),( Sung Eun Kim ),( Jae Hyun Kim ) 대한내과학회 2016 대한내과학회 추계학술대회 Vol.2016 No.1
Background: Radiotherapy for malignant abdominopelvic disease results in radiation-induced enterocolitis. However, there is no well-established preventive strategy. The aim is to evaluate the suppressive effect of rebamipide, sucralfate and rifaximin on ionizing radiation (IR)-induced acute inflammation and apoptosis in the intestine of mouse. Methods: Thirty ICR mice were divided into (1) a vehicle-treated control group before sham IR, (2) a vehicle-treated group before IR, and (3-5) rebamipide, sucralfate or rifaximin-treated groups before IR. The intestine was resected at 4 hours after 4 Gy IR to the abdominopelvis. Pro-/anti-inflammatory and pro-/anti-apoptotic factors were investigated. Results: NAMPT was down-regulated after IR, which was attenuated by rebamipide, sucralfate and rifaximin (p<0.05). Activation of NF-κB and phosphorylation of MAPKs were induced by IR, which were suppressed by rebamipide, sucralfate, and rifaximin (p<0.05). TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-6 were increased by IR, while attenuated by rebamipide, sucralfate, and rifaximin down to similar level of control group (p<0.05). The iNOS, COX-2 and PGE2 were significantly induced by IR, which were attenuated by rebamipide, sucralfate, and rifaximin (p<0.05). ICAM-1 was corresponded to above mentioned results. [Ca2+] oscillation was increased by IR, which was attenuated by rebamipide, sucralfate, and rifaximin. Proapoptotic gene (Bax, c-Myc) and antiapoptotic gene (Bcl-2, Bcl-xL) expressions were potently suppressed and induced, respectively, by rebamipide, sucralfate, and rifaximin. The release of cytochrome C was increased by IR, while it was attenuated by rebamipide, sucralfate, and rifaximin (p<0.05). Caspase 3 and caspase 7 were also elevated by IR compared to control group, however, they showed decline by rebamipide, sucralfate, and rifaximin (p<0.05). Conclusions: This study demonstrated that rebamipide, sucralfate, and rifaximin have the suppressive effects on IR-induced acute inflammation and apoptosis in the intestine of mouse. Rebamipide, sucralfate, and rifaximin may have beneficial effects in preventing acute radiation-induced enterocolitis.
Effective mechanical properties of micro/nano-scale porous materials considering surface effects
Jeong, Joonho,Cho, Maenghyo,Choi, Jinbok Techno-Press 2011 Interaction and multiscale mechanics Vol.4 No.2
Mechanical behavior in nano-sized structures differs from those in macro sized structures due to surface effect. As the ratio of surface to volume increases, surface effect is not negligible and causes size-dependent mechanical behavior. In order to identify this size effect, atomistic simulations are required; however, it has many limitations because too much computational resource and time are needed. To overcome the restrictions of the atomistic simulations and graft the well-established continuum theories, the continuum model considering surface effect, which is based on the bridging technique between atomistic and continuum simulations, is introduced. Because it reflects the size effect, it is possible to carry out a variety of analysis which is intractable in the atomistic simulations. As a part of the application examples, the homogenization method is applied to micro/nano thin films with porosity and the homogenized elastic coefficients of the nano scale thickness porous films are computed in this paper.
