Web-based 3D Object Retrieval from User-drawn Sketch Query

Three dimensional (3D) object retrieval from user drawn sketch queries is one of the important research issues in the areas of pattern recognition and computer graphics for simulation, visualization, and Computer Aided Design. The performance of content based 3D object retrieval system depends on the availability of effective descriptors and similarity measures for this kind of data. In this paper, we present a sketch based 3D object retrieval system by extracting a hybrid edge descriptor which is robust against rotation and translation. The experimental results which are based on HTML5 and WebGL show that proposed sketch based 3D object retrieval method is very efficient to search and order the 3D objects according to user’s intention.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Glass materials have been applied as insulators during hot extrusion of titanium- and nickel-based alloys to reduce the friction and thermal conduction in the Ugine-Séjournet process. In this research, parallel plate viscometry (PPV) and rotational viscometry (RV) tests were carried out to characterize the viscosity of glass materials such as lead-borate, potassium-lead-silicate, and potassium-sodium-lead-silicate, quantitatively. Herein, we propose a new equation that can be used to predict an extensive range of viscosities from the softening to the melting point. This equation demonstrates more accurate predictions compared with the conventional Vogel–Fulcher–Tamman (VFT), the Avramov&Milchev (AM) and the Mauro-Yue-Ellison-Gupta-Allan (MYEGA) equations.</P>
A Lumped-Element Directional Coupler With High Isolation for Mobile RFID Reader

<P>A lumped-element directional coupler with a high isolation characteristic for mobile RFID reader systems is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. Compared with the conventional lumped-element circuit, the proposed structure utilizes compensation capacitors and achieves a very high isolation despite low quality factor on-chip inductors. It was fabricated on a high-resistivity silicon substrate and showed an isolation of 79 dB, a coupling level of 14.8 dB, and an insertion loss of 1.74 dB at 910 MHz.</P>
Hot Rolling of Flame Retardant Magnesium and Aluminum Alloys to Produce a Cladding Plate

In order to facilitate the adoption of bimetallic clad sheets, which are composed of flame retardant Mg and Al alloys, as structural materials in transportation vehicles, the rolling speed, asymmetric roll speed ratio, and thickness of flame retardant Mg sheets have been examined with a roll bonding process at an elevated temperature. As the rolling speed increases, the required reduction ratio to make a full adhesion increases at a rate of the 2nd order to compensate for the insufficient holding time. The asymmetric ratio in the speed of the upper and lower rolls does not substantially influence the cladding integrity between the flame retardant Mg and Al6005 strips. The DRXed grain structure in flame retardant Mg cannot impose substantial contact pressure at the interface during the roll bonding process, which necessitates a high reduction ratio to induce sufficient contact pressure for bonding. The larger DRXed grain structure induced by large plastic deformation in the initial Mg strip is subject to producing a thicker intermetallic layer when the minimum reduction ratio is achieved between the flame retardant Mg and Al6005 alloys. These conclusions are based on EDS line and point analyses at the Mg/Al interface and the results of SEM investigations.
A directional coupler with suppressed Tx leakage for UHF RFID reader applications

<P>A directional coupler with a high isolation characteristic for radio frequency identification reader systems is presented. Compensation capacitors are used to improve the inherently poor isolation of a microstrip directional coupler due to unequal even- and odd-mode phase velocities. The transmitter leakage signal, which is reflected by the mismatch of the antenna impedance, is substantially reduced by optimization of the compensation capacitor values and the value of an additional resistor attached to the coupling port. The proposed directional coupler exhibits an isolation of 76.8 dB, a coupling factor of 16.6 dB, and an insertion loss of 0.28 dB for a matched antenna impedance at 910 MHz. It also has an isolation of more than 60 dB for mismatched antenna load impedances corresponding to a reflection coefficient of 0.33 at 910 MHz.</P>

The distributions of drug resistance bacteria were investigated in 28 sites of the southern coastal sea water of korea. Drug resistance bacteria were isolated using the sea water nutrient agar media containing the 10㎍/㎖ of ampicillin(AM), 25 ㎍/㎖ of streptomycin(SM), and 250㎍/㎖ of sulfonamide(SA). Over 30% of total bacteria showed AM and SM resistance in 8 and 7 sampling sites, respectively but SA resistance only in 2 sites. Two hundreds and ninty isolates were divided to 6 types of resistance pattern from 1 to 6 kind of drugs. Over 60% of the resistance bacteria showed multiple resistant to more than 3 drugs. About 70% of multiple drug resistance bacteria had the transferable resistance marker and the markers were AM, kanamycin, oxytetracyclin resistance. The resistance bacteria to oxytetracycline or oxolinic acid appeared around fish farms developed well.
