라이프로깅 데이터를 이용한 소셜 네트워크 그룹 생성 시스템

        조영호(Youngho Jo),우진철(Jincheol Woo),이현우(Hyunwoo Lee),조아영(Ayoung Cho),황민철(Mincheol Whang) 한국HCI학회 2017 한국HCI학회 논문지 Vol.12 No.2

Various life-logging based on cloud service have developed social network according to the advanced technology of smartphone and wearable device. Daily digital life on social networks has been shared information and emotion and developed new social relationships. Recent life-logging has required social relationships beyond extension of personal memory and anonymity for privacy protection. This study is to determine social network group by using life-logging data obtained in daily lives and to categorize emotion behavior with anonymity guarantee. Social network group was defined by grouping similar representative emotional behavior. The public"s patterns and trends was able to be inferred by analyzing representative emotion and behavior of the social groups network.

      • Diagnostic value of pyrosequencing for the BRAFV600E mutation in ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration biopsy samples of thyroid incidentalomas

        Jo, Young Suk,Huang, Songmei,Kim, Yun-Jeung,Lee, Ihn-Suk,Kim, Song-Soo,Kim, Je-Ryong,Oh, Taejeong,Moon, Youngho,An, Sungwhan,Ro, Heung-kyu,Kim, Jin-Man,Shong, Minho Blackwell Publishing Ltd 2009 Clinical endocrinology Vol.70 No.1

<P>Summary</P><P>Context </P><P>Dideoxy sequencing is the most commonly used method for detecting the BRAFV600E mutation in thyroid cancer and melanoma. However, this gold standard method often makes less definite results in detecting the BRAF<B>V600E</B> mutation when there are relatively low amounts of the mutant template in biopsy specimens, which are invariably contaminated with normal tissues. Pyrosequencing, which measures the incorporation of each of the four nucleotides at each template position and indicates the amounts of mutant template present, may be more useful in such situations.</P><P>Objective </P><P>To investigate the diagnostic efficiency of pyrosequencing for the mutant BRAF allele in ultrasound (US)-guided fine needle aspiration biopsies (FNABs) of thyroid incidentalomas.</P><P>Design, setting and subjects </P><P>A total of 101 thyroid incidentaloma cases were included prospectively. Cytological diagnoses of the FNAB samples were made according to the American Thyroid Association (ATA) guidelines, 2006. The presence of the BRAF<B>V600E</B> mutation was investigated by pyrosequencing and dideoxy sequencing.</P><P>Results </P><P>On the basis of cytological analysis, the thyroid incidentalomas were classified into benign (<I>n</I> = 43), malignant (<I>n</I> = 30), indeterminate or suspicious neoplasm (<I>n</I> = 24), and nondiagnostic (<I>n</I> = 4) categories. Pyrosequencing detected the BRAF<B>V600E</B> mutation in 30 cases: 22 malignant cases, 7 indeterminate cases, and 1 nondiagnostic case. Dideoxy sequencing also detected the BRAF<B>V600E</B> mutation in 28 of the same cases but failed to clearly distinguish the mutant allele from the wild-type allele in one indeterminate case and one nondiagnostic case. Histopathological analysis ascertained that all BRAF<B>V600E</B>-positive cases were papillary thyroid carcinomas.</P><P>Conclusions </P><P>Pyrosequencing may be suitable for detecting the BRAF<B>V600E</B> mutation in thyroid incidentaloma and may be superior to dideoxy sequencing when low amounts of the mutant template are present in the biopsy.</P>

Radio-sensitivity of pathogens in inoculated prepared foods of animal origin

        Jo, Cheorun,Lee, Na Young,Kang, HoJin,Hong, SangPil,Kim, YoungHo,Kim, Hyun Ju,Byun, Myung Woo Elsevier 2005 FOOD MICROBIOLOGY Vol.22 No.4

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>The effectiveness of irradiation for inactivating <I>Staphylococcus aureus</I>, <I>Listeria ivanovii</I>, <I>Salmonella</I> Typhimurium, and <I>Escherichia coli</I> in the prepared foods of animal origin was investigated. Commercially available seasoned and cooked beef, fried egg, and ham were purchased, radiation-sterilized, and inoculated at 106–107CFU/g with each of the four pathogens and stored at three storage conditions at 10°C, 20°C, and 30°C. D10-values of <I>S. aureus</I>, <I>L. ivanovii</I>, <I>Salmonella</I> Typhimurium, and <I>E. coli</I> were 0.34±0.01, 0.24±0.02, 0.24±0.01, and 0.27±0.01kGy, respectively. No viable cells were detected at 3kGy of irradiation. <I>Salmonella</I> mutagenicity assay (Ames test) indicated that the 10kGy irradiated samples were statistically similar to non-irradiated control samples in the <I>Salmonella mutagenicity</I> assay (Ames test). These studies demonstrate that irradiation can be used as an additional safety tool to produce microbiologically safe and wholesome prepared foods of animal origin.</P>

Plate Fixation for Atypical Fractures of the Femoral Diaphysis

        Youngho Cho,Young-Soo Byun,Seongwoo Jo,Jaeuk Shin 대한정형외과학회 2022 Clinics in Orthopedic Surgery Vol.14 No.2

Background: Plate fixation for atypical femoral fractures has shown high failure rates compared to intramedullary nail fixation. The aim of this study was to evaluate the radiological results of patients treated with a plate and screws for atypical fractures of the femoral diaphysis. Methods: This study was conducted retrospectively on 16 patients who had undergone internal fixation using plates for treatment of atypical femoral complete fractures from 2007 to 2015. Nine patients were treated with lag screws and short plates while 7 patients were treated with position screws and long plates, which covered the whole femur. Radiologic evaluation was performed on all patients. Complications were also evaluated. Results: Bone union was achieved in all patients and the average bone union time was 17.7 weeks (range, 14–28 weeks). There was no correlation between the preoperative use of a bisphosphonate, plate length, postoperative teriparatide use, and the time to bone union. Regarding complications, 2 cases of complete fractures and 1 impending fracture occurred at the end of short plates. Conclusions: Satisfactory results were obtained with use of plates for patients with atypical femoral complete diaphyseal fractures, in whom intramedullary nails could not be applied due to severe bowing. In particular, it seemed advantageous compared with intramedullary nail fixation in that it could maintain the leg length through anatomical reduction and prevent iatrogenic fracture.

      • Extremely Fast Self-Healable Bio-Based Supramolecular Polymer for Wearable Real-Time Sweat-Monitoring Sensor

        Yoon, Jo Hee,Kim, Seon-Mi,Eom, Youngho,Koo, Jun Mo,Cho, Han-Won,Lee, Tae Jae,Lee, Kyoung G.,Park, Hong Jun,Kim, Yeong Kyun,Yoo, Hyung-Joun,Hwang, Sung Yeon,Park, Jeyoung,Choi, Bong Gill American Chemical Society 2019 ACS APPLIED MATERIALS & INTERFACES Vol.11 No.49

<P>Sensors with autonomous self-healing properties offer enhanced durability, reliability, and stability. Although numerous self-healing polymers have been attempted, achieving sensors with fast and reversible recovery under ambient conditions with high mechanical toughness remains challenging. Here, a highly sensitive wearable sensor made of a robust bio-based supramolecular polymer that is capable of self-healing via hydrogen bonding is presented. The integration of carbon fiber thread into a self-healing polymer matrix provides a new toolset that can easily be knitted into textile items to fabricate wearable sensors that show impressive self-healing efficiency (>97.0%) after 30 s at room temperature for K+/Na+ sensing. The wearable sweat-sensor system-coupled with a wireless electronic circuit board capable of transferring data to a smart phone-successfully monitors electrolyte ions in human perspiration noninvasively in real time, even in the healed state during indoor exercise. Our smart sensors represent an important advance toward futuristic personalized healthcare applications.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>

      • Study on Transmission and Output Polarization Characteristics of a First-Order Lyot-Type Fiber Comb Filter Using Polarization-Diversity Loop

        Songhyun Jo,Youngho Kim,Yong Wook Lee IEEE 2015 IEEE photonics journal Vol.7 No.4

<P>A first-order Lyot-type fiber comb filter was fabricated by incorporating a polarization-diversity loop structure composed of a polarization beam splitter, two half-wave plates (HWPs), and two polarization-maintaining fiber (PMF) segments. One of the two PMF segments was two times longer than the other, and they were concatenated with a 600 offset between their principal axes. The transmission spectra and output polarization characteristics of the filter were theoretically predicted and experimentally verified. By proper control of the two HWPs, first-order transmission spectra could be obtained, including flat-top and lossy flat-top band modes, and the interleaving operation of the respective spectrum could be also achieved. This flat-top band mode spectrum showed a higher attenuation rate at the cutoff level, in comparison with that of the Solc-type filter. In particular, it was revealed that the output state of polarization of the filter was a periodical function of wavelength and that the evolution period was different, according to transmission band modes. With the help of a linear output polarizer, the specific portion of a passband could be passed or rejected by controlling input polarization. It was also theoretically predicted that the fine tuning of the passband center was possible within a specific wavelength range.</P>

        Kim, Hyosun,Jo, Sion,Lee, Jae Baek,Jin, Youngho,Jeong, Taeoh,Yoon, Jaechol,Lee, Jeong Moon,Park, Boyoung Elsevier 2018 The American journal of emergency medicine Vol.36 No.1

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P><B>Purpose</B></P> <P>The predictive value of serum albumin in adult aspiration pneumonia patients remains unknown.</P> <P><B>Methods</B></P> <P>Using data collected during a 3-year retrospective cohort of hospitalized adult patients with aspiration pneumonia, we evaluated the predictive value of serum albumin level at ED presentation for in-hospital mortality.</P> <P><B>Results</B></P> <P>248 Patients were enrolled; of these, 51 cases died (20.6%). The mean serum albumin level was 3.4±0.7g/dL and serum albumin levels were significantly lower in the non-survivor group than in the survivor group (3.0±0.6g/dL vs. 3.5±0.6g/dL). In the multivariable logistic regression model, albumin was associated with in-hospital mortality significantly (adjusted odds ratio 0.30, 95% confidential interval (CI) 0.16–0.57). The area under the receiver operating characteristics (AUROC) for in-hospital survival was 0.72 (95% CI 0.64–0.80). The Youden index was 3.2g/dL and corresponding sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, positive and negative likelihood ratio were 68.6%, 66.5%, 34.7%, 89.1%, 2.05 and 0.47, respectively. High sensitivity (98.0%) was shown at albumin level of 4.0g/dL and high specificity (94.9%) was shown at level of 2.5g/dL.</P> <P><B>Conclusion</B></P> <P>Initial serum albumin levels were independently associated with in-hospital mortality among adult patients hospitalized with aspiration pneumonia and demonstrated fair discriminative performance in the prediction of in-hospital mortality.</P>
