        일반논문 : 디지털 기술시대의 대중예술과 소녀의 복제

        This paper proposes ``cultural engineering`` as a new term for cultural analysis and explores the social meaning of pop-art in the digital age. Based upon Jody Berland`s notion of "cultural technologies," this paper takes note of the digital-based lifestyle that allows contemporary urban laborers to use digital spatial-temporal modes of existence at their commands. By framing such digital transformation through the tools of ``copy,`` ``cut,`` ``past,`` and ``send`` in the context of genetic engineering technologies such as gene-splicing and cloning, it makes attempts to understand the social dimensions surrounding the popular desire for re-making the original and to muse over the social potentials of the new digital culture: whether it will be able to promise the social empowerment for the digital masses as Walter Benjamin responded to the emergence of the cinema in the early twentieth century. As for praxis, this paper applies the new term to the analysis of director Kim Ji-woon`s "Janghwa, Honglyeon" and Charles and Thomas Guard brother`s "The Uninvited: A Tale of Two Sisters and tries to reveal the patriarchal lag that two cinematic editions of a traditional Korean folk tale "Janghwa and Honglyeon" conceal in the process of cloning the sexuality and body of "Sonyeo." In doing so, this paper suggests Korean teen-age girls still remain the specter of the patriarchal texts of girlhood since Janghwa and Honglyeon.

        수정된 한글 연명의료계획서(Modified Korean Physician Order for Life-Sustaining Treatment, MK-POLST) 분석을 통한 호스피스 병동 환자의 의료 중재 항목별 선호도 및 충실도 조사

        목적: 호스피스 및 완화치료 환자 또는 임종단계 환자를 위한 연명 치료 결정에 관한 법안은 2016년에 제정되어 2018년 2월부터 시행 되었다. 이 법안의 취지와 내용은 미국의 POLST에 근거한다. 이 연구의 목적은 미국의 POLST를 변형하여 만든 MK-POLST를 호스피스 병동 환자들에게 적용을 한 뒤 각 항목에 대한 선호도 및 시행 일치율을 조사하는 것이다. 방법: 2017년 2월 1일부터 2019년 4월 30일까지 경상대학교병원의 부속 호스피스 병동의 모든 입원 환자의 MK-POLST에 대한 의무기록을 후향적으로 분석하였다. 결과: 총 387명의 연구대상자 중 295명의 환자가 MK-POLST를 작성했다. MK-POLST는 환자 자신이 133건(44.1%), 배우자가 84건(28.5 %), 자녀가 75건(25.4%) 작성했다. MK-POLST가 작성된 295 명의 환자 중 단 13명(4.4%)이 주사 영양제를 거부하였으며, 5명(1.7%)은 완화적 진정을 거부하였지만, 대다수인 288명(97.6%)이 심폐소생술 및 인공호흡기 치료를 원하지 않았고, 226명(76.9%)이 승압제 사용을 원하지 않았다. 인공호흡기, 심폐소생술 및 완화적 진정을 제외한 모든 MK-POLST 항목의 시행 일치율에 대한 Kappa 값은 낮았다. 결론: 호스피스 환자들은 심폐소생술, 인공호흡기 및 승압제 사용은 거부 했지만, 대조적으로 항생제, 주사 영양제 및 완화적 진정은 대다수 또는 절대적인 경우에 선호했다. Purpose: The Act on Hospice and Palliative Care and Decisions on Life-sustaining Treatment for Patients at the End of Life was enacted in 2016 and has taken effect since 2018 February. The content of this act was based on Physician Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatment (POLST) in the United States and we modified it for terminal cancer patients registering hospice. The object of this study is to investigate preference and implementation rate for modified Korean POLST (MMK-POLST) items in hospice ward. Methods: From February 1, 2017 to April 30, 2019, medical records regarding MMK-POLST were retrospectively analyzed for all patients hospitalized in the hospice ward of Gyeongsang National University Hospital. Results: Of the eligible 387 total cohorts, 295 patients filled out MK-POLST. MK-POLST has been completed in 133 cases (44.1%) by the patient themselves, 84 cases (28.5%) by the spouse, and 75 cases (25.4%) by their children, respectively. While only 13 (4.4%) out of 295 MK-POLST completed patients refused the parenteral nutrition and 5 patients (1.7%) for palliative sedation, the absolute majority of 288 (97.6%) patients did not want cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and ventilators and 226 people (76.9%) for pressor medications. Kappa values for the matched strength of MK-POLST implementation were poor for all items except CPR, ventilators and palliative sedation. Conclusion: Hospice patients refused to conduct cardiopulmonary resuscitation, ventilators and pressor agents. In contrast, antibiotics, parenteral nutrition and palliative sedation were favored in the majority of patients.

        유기농자재와 Bacillus thuringiensis의 혼합처리에 의한 파밤나방의 방제효과

        This study is conduced to investigate control efficacy of mixture of plant extracts which has been reported to control pest and Bacillus thuringiensis or alone. Control efficacy of 0.025% matrine or mixture of 0.016% matrine and BT (5 × 10<SUP>4</SUP> cfu) against 3<SUP>rd</SUP> instar larvae of beet armyworm were best as 98.7% and 93.3%. Treatment of mixture of 0.01% matrine and BT (5 × 10<SUP>4</SUP> cfu) showed the mortality of 69.3%. In the case of neem, when the mixture of 0.1% neem and BT was applied to larvae of S. exigua, their mortality was 50.0% and weight of larvae were significantly different compare with control and only neem treatment. Therefore For effective control reducing population of beet armyworm and possibility to develop resistance against BT and eco-friendly agents, mixture of 0.016% Matrine and BT (5 × 10<SUP>4</SUP> cfu) could be used.

        엘리자베스 비숍과 가족사진

        In discussing the theme of family in Elizabeth Bishop`s poetry it is almost impossible not to mention the biographical fact that as a four-and-a-half year old child she had a severly painful experience of being abruptly separated from her mentally unstable mother. Due to this almost traumatic experience, she herself acknowledged she developed a damaged personality in the formative period of the self and Bishop scholars also have often examined it from the perspective of Freud`s theory of “Mourning and Melancholia.” This essay also depends upon Freud`s theory and tries to look into dynamic relations between her trauma of loss of family and her creative force dealing with the theme of family. Whereas previous studies focused on the process of Bishop`s mourning, this essay reads her poems of family comprehensively from the early period to the middle to the later period and illuminates the point that they reveal her continuous melancholia resulting from ‘the inscrutable’ in her own self rather than her mourning over the loss of her family. Ultimately, this essay aims to argue that Bishop confessed her damaged personality as it was and rather turned her pathological cathexis into a poetic power to explore the meaning of family and life. 엘리자베스 비숍의 글에서 드물기는 하지만 가족을 소재로 삼은 시편을 논의할 때면 거의 언제나 비숍이 겪었던 유년시절의 불행, 즉, 아버지를 여읜 상태에서 함께 살던 어머니가 정신병원으로 이송되며 나이 어린 비숍이 경험했을 것으로 짐작되는 심리적 충격이 언급된다. 이글 역시 비숍의 트라우마를 Freud의 「애도와 우울증」(Mourning and Melancholia) 이론으로 해석하며 그녀의 가족상실의 경험과 시창작 작업 사이에 존재하는 밀접한 연계성을 검토하고자 한다. 유사한 주제를 지닌 선행연구들이 비숍이 시 쓰기를 통해 애도의 과정을 수행한다는 점에 초점을 두었던 반면, 이 글은 직접적으로 가족이 언급되는 초기 시들 「헤로니모의 집」(Jeronimo’s House)과 「세스티나」(Sestina) 외에도 「지도」(The Map)와 「인간 나방」The Man-Moth)을 다시 읽으며 그녀가 단순히 어머니의 상실이 아니라 가족의 상실로 인한 자존감 장애의 징후를 드러낸다는 점을 조명하고자 할 것이다. 이어 가족상실과 자존감 장애의 징후가 중기 시 「가족사진」(Family Portrait)과 후기 시 「대기실에서」(In the Waiting Room)에도 지속된다는 점을 간략하게 살펴볼 것이다. 궁극적으로, 이 글은 비숍이 가족상실로 인한 고통을 정상적인 애도작업의 과정을 통해 극복하기 보다는 Freud가 “병적인 애도”(pathological mourning)(250)라고 명명한 멜랑콜리아의 특성을 간직한 채 상실의 고통에서 벗어나고자 하는 욕망을 동력으로 삼아 시적 창의성을 발현하고 있음을 보이고자 한다.

        세계문학으로서 한국문학: 번역과 번역공정의 문제에 대한 고찰

        As is easily guessed, translated Korean literature has virtually little presence in the world literary market. Among many reasons to analyze this paucity of world interest in translated Korean literary works, the difficulty of English translation itself has been mostly blamed. However, given the fact that the difficulty is not applied only to Korean literature but to all non-English works, the precarious nature of the success of translated works needs to be probed in another light. Hence, I propose to examine the possibility that what domestic scholars provide as the essence of Korean literature might taste different from what foreign readers expect from reading world literatures. This means that domestic scholars need to form another approach to ``Koreanness`` of Korean literature in order to suit the taste of non-Korean world readers. As a trial attempt, I review the research papers on modern Korean poetry and how domestic scholars have forged the nature of Korean poetry as "literature of grief." Then using two translated texts of Ko Un`s poems, I try to show that in most cases culturally specific sentiments cannot be materialized in the educated English in the process of translation and that only a writer`s humanist gaze at and compassion for human suffering can survive the atrocity of translation and come to attain any kind of poetic achievement.

        곤충병원성 곰팡이 Metarhizium anisopliae FT83의 파밤나방 생육단계별 살충활성

        The beet armyworm, Spodoptera exigua is pest which is difficult to control. For eco-friendly beet armyworm managements, we isolated entomopathogenic fungi from soil samples by insect-bait method using Tenebrio molitor and conducted bioassay to larvae of beet armyworm. The result of bioassay, a selected strain Metarhizium anisopliae FT83 caused 100% mortality against first ~ third instar larva of S. exigua at 1 × 10<SUP>8</SUP> conidia/ml and medial lethal time (LT<SUB>50</SUB>) were 0.5 days, 2.6 days and 2.5 days respectively. Mortality against fourth and fifth larvae were 83.3 ± 6.2% and 86.0 ± 5.7% and medial lethal time (LT<SUB>50</SUB>) were 4.2 days and 3.6 days respectively. Mortality against pupae and eggs of S. exigua were 100%. M. anisopliae FT83 showed high virulence at all developmental stages of S. exigua.

        방선균의 식물생육촉진 효과와 식물병원균에 대한 항균활성

        Streptomyces spp. were isolated from rhizosphere in fallow lands. The Streptomyces spp. were identified as Streptomyces griseus (MSS181), Streptomyces griseoaurantiacus (MSS269), Streptomyces microflavus (MSS275), Streptomyces herbaricolor (MSS276) based on 16S rRNA gene sequences. Afterwards, cucumber, pepper, tobacco and tomato were drenched with the isolates at early growth stages and plant growth such as height and dry weight of plants was measured. By treatment of Streptomyce spp., plant height of cucumber was increased by 16-29% compared to the control, But there were no statistically significant differences in dry weight. When the same isolates were treated on chili-pepper, plant height and dry weight of chili-pepper were increased respectively by 10- 19% and 19-25% compared to the control. The dry weight of tobacco and tomato were increased by 44-73% and 65-165%, respectively compared to the control. When antifungal activities of the isolates were tested against plant pathogenic fungi, Streptomyces microflavus (MSS275) effectively inhibited the mycelial growth of Phytophthora capsici, Fusarium oxysporum, Rhizoctonia solani and Sclerotinia sclerotiorum.

        일본의 보들레르: 하기와라 사쿠타로의 월하세계

        하기와라 사쿠타로는 일본근대시의 아버지이자 일본의 보들레르로 여겨지는 시인이다. 그러한 인물로서, 일본의 사쿠타로 연구는 그간 그의 시의 근대성을 규명하는데 바쳐져왔다. 토시코 엘리스의 경우, 가라타니 고진의 비평이론 “경관의 발견”을 기반으로 삼아 사쿠타로가 일본인의 내면을 발견하였을 뿐만 아니라 자연의 경치를 그 자체로 보여줌으로서 일본 근대시의 문을 열었다고 평가하였다. 야스코 클레어몬트의 경우, 사쿠타로를 보들레르에 비유하며, 사쿠타로가 보들레르의 산책자의 시각을 차용하여 근대 동경을 인식하고 있다고 지적하였다. 이러한 일본의 사쿠타로 연구를 기반으로, 이 논문은 사쿠타로의『월하토로』를 세계문학의 틀에서 읽어 보는 시도를 한다. 원문과 영역본을 의지하므로, 이 논문은 외국인의 읽기라는 한계를 인정하지만, 동시에 사쿠타로를 대정시대 일본의 역사, 문화적 시기를 살았던 시인이라는 점을 조명하며 새롭게, 건설적으로 읽어보는 활동을 수행하고자 한다. 『월하토로』의 연구에서 그간 잘 보이지 않았던 면을 지적함으로써 이 논문은 사쿠타로의 모더니즘의 문학적 의의를 20세기 초기 세계문학의 맥락에 연결시키는 시도를 한다. 당시 동서양의 근대시인들은 모두 어둡고 우울한 정서, 근대인의 공허감, 근대 지식인-시인의 역할에 대해 문학적인 모색을 시도하고 있었기 때문이다. Hagiwara Sakutaro is viewed as the father of Japanese modern poetry as well as Japan’s Baudelaire. As such, Japanese scholarship on Sakutaro has centered around the identification of the modernity of his poetry. Toshiko Ellis, based upon Karatani Kojin’s critical term of “the discovery of landscape,” estimated that Sakutaro opened the door of modern poetry in Japan by discovering the interiority of a man and defamiliarizing nature as a landscape. Yasko Clairemont, comparing Sakutaro to Charles Baudelaire, illuminated Sakutaro’s perception of Tokyo echoes that of Baudelaire’s flaneur. Acknowledging Japanese scholarship, this paper tries to make an experimental reading of Sakutaro’s Howling at the Moon in the frame of world literature. Reading both original and translated texts, this paper acknowledges the weakness of a foreign reading and yet purports to carry out a new constructive reading that illuminates Sakutaro as a poet living inside the historico-cultural moments of Taisho Japan. By indicating a so far shaded facade of Howling at the Moon, this paper tries to connect the literary significance of Sakutaro’s modernism to the global literary context of the early twentieth century, in which modernist poets of the East and the West all explored the gloomy melancholy and the hollowness of modern man, and the role of a modern intellectual- poet.
