To adjust ourselves to the information society, we are in need of a new educational paradigm. The information society is supposed to promote overall changes in the object, content and methods of education. To satisfy the demands in the information society, according to the learners' demands and needs, various kinds of learning materials, such as letters, sounds, pictures, animation, and abundant information infra should be offered. As instructors teach the students in classroom, lots of contents should be given to design the contents in various ways. Especially handy and standardized instructional producing tools to tie various kinds of contents together should be developed. We need the tools to develop the contents. Thus, the purpose of this paper is that, if teachers have their own knowledge of their major subjects in order to design multimedia teaching-plan easily, multimedia teaching-plan with a database driven management system should be projected and constructed, and the educable authoring tool (Multimedia Teaching Plan Program Based on Client/Server) should be embodied with both standardized intellectual presentation and an authoring tool for educational materials.

The results of relation and development between the position sensory of upper and lower limbs and motor skill, and what superior is between right and left limb are followings ; 1. It seen to have no relation between the position sensory and motor skill. It seems to have no meaningful difference statistically in the comparison of difference between sports group and non-sports group students, although, according to some investigators in special measurement parts and methods, sports group is superior. 2. It seems to be superior the both side limbs to any one side limb in the position sensory of upper and lower limbs.
First report of Cystostroma (Stromatoporoidea; Ordovician) from Sino-Korean Craton

A primitive stromatoporoid Cystostroma is reportedfrom the Middle Ordovician Duwibong Formation of TaebaeksanBasin for the first time in Korea, which occupies the eastern marginof Sino-Korean Craton. It occurs as oncoid-like structures withhemispheroidal thin laminae and stromatolite-like columns composedmainly of stacked domal to bulbous encrusting laminae alternatingwith bryozoans. The former mainly occur within grainstonefacies whereas the latter are surrounded by muddy facies. Thesecontrasting growth forms may have resulted from the differencesin energy-level and/or effect of intergrowth with other encrustingorganisms. Though internal texture of Cystostroma is poorly preserved, application of the “white card technique” reveals imbricatedsmall convex-upward cysts which are diagnostic of the genus. Previouslyreported occurrences of early Cystostroma are confined tothe upper Middle Ordovician Chazy Group of North Americawhich is more-or-less contemporaneous with the Duwibong Formationin age. The Sino-Korean Craton contains considerable recordsof early stromatoporoids and the present study adds another occurrenceof a primitive stromatoporoid Cystostroma which may havepossibly been related to the origination of stromatoporoids in theregion. This finding is expected to provide a better understandingfor the origin and dispersal of early stromatoporoids during theEarly Paleozoic.

Aims: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is associated with frequent distant metastases. Traditional surgical option for colorectal liver metastasis (CRLM) was a staged operation. And with advances of surgical techniques, devices, perioperative management and chemotherapeutic agents, CRLMs are now believed to be curable by operation. We analyze the differences of perioperative and oncologic outcome between simultaneous and staged operation. Methods: Four hundred fifty six patients who underwent hepatic resection for known CRLM between January 2001 and December 2014 were retrieved from a retrospective database at our institution. Simultaneous resection was defined as co-operation between colorectal resection and liver resection. And staged operation was defined as colon resection was performed first and additional chemotherapy was followed. Results: There were no statistically significant differences except ASA, preoperative chemotherapy state, number of metastatic tumor, liver resection margin (P=0.034, P=0.001, P=0.001, and P=0.017, respectively). Only major liver resection showed statistically significant difference in multivariate analysis for postoperative complication (P=0.018). In the multivariate analysis for disease-free survival and overall survival, there was a statistically significant increased risk of recurrence and poor prognosis in patients who had primary colorectal cancer histologic grade with poorly differentiated or mucinous adenocarcinoma, over 3 num-bers of liver metastases, surgical margin of < 0.1 cm. Conclusions: This study showed that simultaneous resections present similar major complication rates and oncologic outcomes compared with staged resection for synchronous CRLM. Simultaneous resection for synchronous CRLM appears to be feasible and safe.

Abstract

Introduction

Colorectal cancer liver metastasis (CRLM) can be cured with surgery. To improve survival, optimal selection of CRLM patients should be done cautiously, which may be facilitated by preoperative [F-18] fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (18F-FDG PET/CT).

Methods

A total of 245 patients with CRLM between February 2007 and January 2015 were retrospectively studied. All clinical variables, pathological data, and various PET/CT parameters were correlated with disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS). Metastatic tumor maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax) and normal liver mean SUV (SUVmean) ratio was selected for group classification.

Results

The median DFS in months were 24.5 months and median OS were 41.7 months. Multivariate analysis found an increased risk of worse prognosis in DFS for primary colon cancer T3∼T4, N2 stage, neoadjuvant chemotherapy, synchronous metastasis, multiple metastatic tumor number and metastatic tumor SUVmax/normal liver SUVmean ratio >4.3. The DFS rate of each group classified by SUV ratio was 58.1%, 39.0%, and 33.6% vs. 39.3%, 20.8%, and 15.8% at 1, 3, and 5 years (p = 0.017). Patients with multiple tumors and SUV ratio of >4.3 showed worst survival (OS rate: 74.2%, 41.5%, and 24.2%, p = 0.001 at 1, 3, and 5 years, respectively).

Conclusions

PET/CT variables can be a valuable prognostic factor in patients with CRLM for the prediction of recurrence. The asymmetrical half-bridge converter is widely used for PC power supply. However, severe inrush current produces in this converter at start-up. This paper presents startup inrush current reduction technique of asymmetrical halfbridge DC/DC converter for PC power supply. The proposed asymmetrical half-bridge converter is composed of series connected two link capacitors, center-tapped transformer and blocking capacitor. The proposed converter can reduce the severe start-up inrush current by using the small blocking capacitor. The validity of this study is confirmed from the experimental results.

Background/Aims: Glucose plays an important role in stem cell fate determination and behaviors. However, it is still not known how glucose contributes to the precise molecular mechanisms responsible for stem cell migration. Thus, we investigate the effect of glucose on the regulation of the human umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cell (hUCB-MSC) migration, and analyze the mechanism accompanied by this effect. Methods: Western blot analysis, wound healing migration assays, immunoprecipitation, and chromatin immunoprecipitation assay were performed to investigate the effect of high glucose on hUCB-MSC migration. Additionally, hUCB-MSC transplantation was performed in the mouse excisional wound splinting model. Results: High concentration glucose (25 mM) elicits hUCB-MSC migration compared to normal glucose and high glucose-pretreated hUCB-MSC transplantation into the wound sites in mice also accelerates skin wound repair. We therefore elucidated the detailed mechanisms how high glucose induces hUCB-MSC migration. We showed that high glucose regulates E-cadherin repression through increased Snail and EZH2 expressions. And, we found high glucose-induced reactive oxygen species (ROS) promotes two signaling; JNK which regulates γ–secretase leading to the cleavage of Notch proteins and PI3K/Akt signaling which enhances GSK-3β phosphorylation. High glucose-mediated JNK/Notch pathway regulates the expression of EZH2, and PI3K/Akt/GSK-3β pathway stimulates Snail stabilization, respectively. High glucose enhances the formation of EZH2/Snail/HDAC1 complex in the nucleus, which in turn causes E-cadherin repression. Conclusion: This study reveals that high glucose-induced ROS stimulates the migration of hUCB-MSC through E-cadherin repression via Snail and EZH2 signaling pathways.
