류충헌,정재현,고정해,장제혁,박영진,최규남,박봉수,이상민,주영돈 인제대학교 2008 仁濟醫學 Vol.29 No.-
Background and Objectives : The immunomodulatory drug thalidomide can inhibit angiogenesis and induce apoptosis in experimental models. It can also induce marked and durable response in newly diagnosed myeloma patients. Thalidomide has been used at doses ranging from 200 to 800 mg with significant toxicity. No data are available on the impact of low-dose thalidomide, cyclophosphamide and dexamethasone as initial therapy for myeloma patients. Design and Methods : To address this issue, newly diagnosed myeloma patients were treated with 50 mg/day thalidomide continuously and cyclophosphamide 150 mg/m², days 1-4 and dexamethasone 20 mg/m², days 1-5 and day 15-19, every month. Between October 2005 and October 2006, 14 patients (median age 54.5 years) were treated with low-dose thalidomide, cyclophosphamide and dexamethasone. Results : After a minimum of two cycles of treatment, 5 patients (55.5%) showed a partial remission. After four cycles of treatment, 10 patients (83.3%) showed a partial remission (n=6) and complete remission (n=4). After a median follow-up of 15.4 months, 1 year overall survival rate was 82.0%. Thalidomide was well tolerated without serious toxic effects. Conclusions : The combination of low-dose thalidomide, cyclophosphamide and dexamethasone demonstrates favorable response rate and 1 year overall survival rate in newly diagnosed myeloma. Severe toxicities were not seen with this combination.

Purpose: To investigate the outcomes of patients with spinal metastases from hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), who were treated by stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT). Materials and Methods: This retrospective study evaluated 23 patients who underwent SBRT from October 2008 to August 2012 for 36 spinal metastases from HCC. SBRT consisted of approximately 2 fractionation schedules, which were 18 to 40 Gy in 1 to 4 fractions for group A lesions (n = 15) and 50 Gy in 10 fractions for group B lesions (n = 21). Results: The median follow-up period was 7 months (range, 2 to 16 months). Seven patients developed grade 1 or 2 gastrointestinal toxicity, and one developed grade 2 leucopenia. Compression fractures occurred in association with 25% of the lesions, with a median time to fracture of 2 months. Pain relief occurred in 92.3% and 68.4% of group A and B lesions, respectively. Radiologic response (complete and partial response) occurred in 80.0% and 61.9% of group A and B lesions, respectively. The estimated 1-year spinal-tumor progression-free survival rate was 78.5%. The median overall survival period and 1-year overall survival rate were 9 months (range, 2 to 16 months) and 25.7%, respectively. Conclusion: SBRT for spinal metastases from HCC is well tolerated and effective at providing pain relief and radiologic response. Because compression fractures develop at a high rate following SBRT for spinal metastases from primary HCC, careful follow up of the patient is required.

Protection of Streptozotocin Induced Pancreatic β-cells Dameged by Codium fragile ethanol extract
Gyu-Hyeok Lee,Dae-Hee Lee 한국식품영양과학회 2021 한국식품영양과학회 학술대회발표집 Vol.2021 No.10
Diabetes mellitus was divided type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM), type 1 diabetes mellitus(T1DM). Espacially T2DM has the highest incidence Furthermore, treatment is most insulin administration, blood glucose-lowering drug. There is necessary to develop a treatment for diabetes mellitus through damaged cells protection and without side effect. T2DM generated oxidative stress in pancreatic β-cells due to hyperglycemia, which is a relation to β-cells mass decrease. Consequently, in this study used antioxidants known Codium fragile ethanol extract(CFE). CFE was studied antioxidants and anti-inflammatory however that was unknown anti-diabetic effect. CFE protected from cell death by streptozotocin. Furthermore, CFE meaningfully inhibited apoptosis ratio by streptozotocin, decreased cleaved caspase 3, and cleaved PARP expression level. More importantly, that has appeared intracellular ROS scavenging and activation superoxide 2, catalase expression level with inhibition apoptosis. In case of animal testing, diabetes induced to streptozotocin. And there performed oral administration of CFE. as the results CFE 50mg/kg treated rats was decreased the blood glucose level from 3 weeks.
Isolation and Analysis of the Enzymatic Properties of Thermophilic Fungi from Compost
Lee, Hanbyul,Lee, Young Min,Jang, Yeongseon,Lee, Sangjoon,Lee, Hwanhwi,Ahn, Byoung Jun,Kim, Gyu-Hyeok,Kim, Jae-Jin The Korean Society of Mycology 2014 Mycobiology Vol.42 No.2
To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report on thermophilic fungi isolated in Korea. Three species of thermophiles were isolated from compost and were identified as Myriococcum thermophilum, Thermoascus aurantiacus, and Thermomyces lanuginosus. They can grow at temperatures above $50^{\circ}C$ and produce high levels of cellulolytic and xylanolytic enzymes at high temperatures. Notably, the considerable thermostability of the endo-glucanase produced by T. aurantiacus has made the fungus an attractive source of industrial enzymes.
NMR Study of the pH Effect on the DNA Binding Affinity of Human RPA
Lee, Min-Woo,Choi, Ju-Hyeok,Choi, Jae-Gyu,Lee, Ae-Ree,Lee, Joon-Hwa 한국자기공명학회 2016 Journal of the Korean Magnetic Resonance Society Vol.20 No.3
The replication protein A (RPA) plays a crucial role in DNA replication, recombination, and repair. RPA consists of 70, 32 and 14 kDa subunits and has high single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) binding affinity. The largest subunit, RPA70, mainly contributes to bind to ssDNA as well as interact with many cellular and viral proteins. In this study, we performed nuclear magnetic resonance experiments on the complex of the DNA binding domain A of human RPA70 (RPA70A) with ssDNA, d(CCCCC), at various pH, to understand the effect of pH on the ssDNA binding of RPA70A. The chemical shift perturbations of binding residues were most significant at pH 6.5 and they reduced with pH increment. This study provides valuable insights into the molecular mechanism of the ssDNA binding of human RPA.

<P>Size-tunable titanium oxide (TiO2) nanotube powders offering both a light-scattering effect and a light-harvesting function were synthesized by a fast and facile anodizing method. When used to prepare the TiO2 layer for a photoanode, their photovoltaic performances were much worse than that of a nanocrystal TiO2 layer. However, when the TiO2 nanotube powders were used as a light-scattering layer on a nanocrystal TiO2 layer, the highest conversion efficiency was obtained because of more noticeable light absorption of the longer wavelength, which was not attainable from a pure nanocrystal TiO2 layer or the combination of nanocrystal TiO2/commercialized light-scattering particles.</P><P><B>Graphic Abstract</B> <IMG SRC='http://pubs.acs.org/appl/literatum/publisher/achs/journals/content/aamick/2012/aamick.2012.4.issue-8/am300892j/production/images/medium/am-2012-00892j_0005.gif'></P><P><A href='http://pubs.acs.org/doi/suppl/10.1021/am300892j'>ACS Electronic Supporting Info</A></P>

Urban Tree Canopy Classification Using Remote Sensing
Seung Gyu Jeong,Hyeok Su Kwon,Dong Kun Lee,Jong Hoon Park 한국인간·식물·환경학회 2016 인간식물환경학회지 Vol.19 No.1
Tree canopy is a valuable component consisting of urban ecosystem. The purpose of this study was to classify urban tree canopy (UTC) by using high resolution imagery and object-oriented classification (OOC), which was used to classify the different land cover types. With an urban canopy mapping system based on OOC and Decision Tree Classification (DTC), a site mapping was carried out by merging spectral data of high resolution imagery. This methodological approach showed high classification accuracy to distinguish small patches and continuous UTC boundaries on the high resolution imagery. For shadow removal, decision tree classification with various environmental variables such as brightness channel and band combination could effectively work. Our proposed methodology can be successfully used for the assessment and restoration of fragmented urban ecosystem and offer an opportunity to obtain high classification accuracy for the distinction of UTC components in urban landscape areas.
Low-power CMOS Front-end ROIC using Inverter-feedback RGC TIA for 3-D Flash LADAR Sensor
Eun-Gyu Lee,Jae-Eun Lee,Han-Woong Choi,Kyeong-Hyeok Lee,Bang Chul Jung,Choul-Young Kim 대한전자공학회 2018 Journal of semiconductor technology and science Vol.18 No.1
This work proposes a pixel architecture for a front-end readout integrated circuit (ROIC) using an inverter-feedback regulated-cascode (RGC) trans-impedance amplifier (TIA) for the focal plane array of a three-dimensional flash laser detection and ranging sensor. Although there are various TIA topologies for wideband operation, the inverter-feedback RGC structure is adopted owing to the importance of the small area and low power consumption of the array configuration. A single pixel also consists of an overcurrent protector, comparator, amplitude-to-voltage converter, and time-to-voltage converter to sense the range and intensity information of the remote object. A single pixel dissipates a power of 5.28 mW from a 3-V supply. The receiver achieves an input referred noise current of 7.5 pA/√Hz with a bandwidth of 453 MHz, transimpedance gain of 76 dB · >, and a maximum detection range of 60 m with a 3.8-ns pulse. A single pixel is developed within 100 μm × 100 μm and the total die size, including the I/O pads, is 2200 μm × 2200 μm.
