Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the university students" perception specializing in communication disorders about speech language pathologists. Methods: For this study a questionnaire consisting of participant characteristics, preferred workplace, expected salary, service period in a workplace, perception of lifelong working and so on was distributed to university students in national wide. one hundred students participated in the survey through Google docs and the data was analyzed. Results: The results indicated that university students perceived personality and patience as speech and language pathologists" basic grounding, and hoped to work in hospitals and speech clinics and so on. Conclusions: The results suggested that students specializing in communication disorders positively perceived about speech-language pathologists and other various factors to be considered together in the future studies.

Background/Aims: The dose of mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) has been reduced in Asia due to side effects associated with the conventional fixed dose of 2-3 g/day. We aimed to determine the pharmacokinetics of a reduced dose of MMF and to validate its feasibility in combination with tacrolimus in living-donor liver transplantation (LDLT). Methods: Two sequential studies were performed in adult LDLT between October 2009 and 2011. First, we performed a prospective pharmacokinetic study in 15 recipients. We measured the area under the curve from 0 to 12 hours (AUC0-12) for mycophenolic acid at postoperative days 7 and 14, and we performeda protocol biopsy before discharge. Second, among 215 recipients, we reviewed 74 patients who were initially administered a reduced dose of MMF (1.0 g/day) with tacrolimus (trough, 8-12 ng/mL during the first month, and 5-8 ng/mL thereafter), with a 1-year follow-up. We performed protocol biopsies at 2 weeks and 1 year post-LDLT. Results: In the first part of study, AUC0-12 was less than 30 mgh/L in 93.3% of cases. In the second,validating study, 41.9% of the recipients needed dose reduction or cessation due to side effects within the first year after LDLT. At 12 months post-LDLT, 17.6% of the recipients were administered a lower dose of MMF (0.5 g/day), and 16.2% needed permanent cessation due to side effects. The 1- and 12 month rejection-free survival rates were 98.6% and 97.3%, respectively. Conclusions: A reduced dose of MMF was associated with low blood levels compared to the existing recommended therapeutic range. However, reducing the dose of MMF combined with a low level of tacrolimus was feasible clinically, with an excellent short-term outcome in LDLT. (Clin Mol Hepatol 2014;20:291-299)

We investigated the protective effects of 3-bromo-4,5-dihydroxybenzaldehyde (BDB) from Polysiphonia morrowii Harvey against hydrogen peroxide (H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>)-induced apoptosis in Vero cells. BDB exhibited scavenging activity for DPPH, hydroxyl, and alkyl radicals. BDB also inhibited H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>-induced lipid peroxidation, cell death, and apoptosis in Vero cells by inhibiting the production of ROS. To evaluate the molecular mechanisms of apoptosis inhibition, the expression of Bax/Bcl-xL and NF-κB was assessed by western blot assay. BDB significantly suppressed the cleavage of caspase-9 and PARP and reduced Bax levels in H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>-induced Vero cells. Besides, BDB suppressed the phosphorylation of NF-κB and the translocation of p65 in H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>-induced cells. Furthermore, we evaluated the effect of BDB on ROS production, cell death, and lipid peroxidation in an H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>-stimulated zebrafish embryo model. Taken together, these results indicated that ROS generation and cell death were significantly inhibited by BDB in zebrafish embryos, thereby proving that BDB exerts excellent antioxidant activity in vitro and in vivo.

인천광역시 옹진군에 속한 서해 5도 중 한 곳인 연평도일대에 자생하는 관속식물들을 밝히고 주요 식물들을 파악하였다. 2010년 5월부터 2010년 10월까지 총 4차례 현지조사를 통해 밝혀진 소산식물은 90과 315속 459종 4아종 53변종 8품종의 524분류군으로 조사되었다. 이 중 한반도 고유종은 총 2분류군, 산림청 지정 한국 희귀식물은 8분류군이 조사되었다. 구계학적 특정식물은 Ⅴ등급이 2분류군, Ⅳ등급이 2분류군, Ⅲ등급이 4분류군, Ⅱ등급이 3분류군, Ⅰ등급에 27분류군 등 총 38분류군이 분포하고 있는 것을 알 수 있었다. 귀화식물은 총 66분류군으로 조사되었으며, 귀화율은 12.6%로 높게 나타났다. The vascular plants of Is. Yeonpyeongdo regions, located in Ongjin-gun, Incheon were surveyed from May to October 2010. The vascular plants collected 4 times were consisted of total 524 taxa; 90 families, 315 genera, 459 species, 4 subspecies, 53 varieties and 8 formas respectively. Among them, 2 taxa endemic species of Korea and 8 taxa of Korean rare plants were investigated in addition to 38 taxa of specially designated plants announced by the Ministry of Environment. The naturalized plants were 66 taxa, therefore naturalized ratio was12.6% highly.

The operating conditions of the electronic equipment vary depending on mounting environment due to the limited internal space in the platform. The present paper investigated the effect of the distance between the fan and the internal structure in the platform(D<SUB>fs</SUB>) on thermal stability of the forced convective cooling electronic equipment. Four conditions were considered. One of them was without any internal structure. The others were in the Dfs range of 10.0-50.0mm. In order to analyze the stability of fan operation, the fan performance curve and the system impedance curve were used. Temperature of each module was considered for the thermal stability. As the D<SUB>fs</SUB> increased, the fan operation became stable and the heat dissipation effect became improved. It was necessary to secure the distance at least 30.0mm for the stable fan operation.
