The existing results show the applicability of the over-parameterized model based subspace identification method (OPM-like SIM) developed for consistent estimates of Hammerstein systems under completely unknown periodic disturbances. However, it requires to estimate extra parameters and performer a low rank approximation step. Therefore, it may give rise to unnecessarily high variance in parameter estimates, especially using a small and noisy data set. To overcome this corruptive phenomenon, we propose a parsimonious model based SIM to obtain a consistent parameter estimate for Hammerstein systems under completely unknown periodic disturbances. Two parsimonious models instead of OPM have been used to describe the Hammerstein systems, and an orthogonal projection based fixed point iteration method has been proposed to eliminate the disturbance effects and gives a consistent parameter estimate. The avoidance of estimating extra parameters and a low rank approximation step in classical OPM-like SIM has the potential to improve the accuracy and variance properties of the parameter estimates. The effectiveness and merits are demonstrated with strict mathematical proofs, along with simulation examples.
Theoretical Study of the Reaction Mechanism for SiF<sub>2</sub> Radical with HNCO

The reaction mechanism of $SiF_2$ radical with HNCO has been investigated by the B3LYP method of density functional theory(DFT), while the geometries and harmonic vibration frequencies of reactants, intermediates, transition states and products have been calculated at the B3LYP/$6-311++G^{**}$ level. To obtain more precise energy result, stationary point energies were calculated at the CCSD(T)/$6-311++G^{**}$//B3LYP/$6-311++G^{**}$ level. $SiF_2+HNCO{\rightarrow}IM3{\rightarrow}TS5{\rightarrow}IM4{\rightarrow}TS6{\rightarrow}OSiF_2CNH(P3)$ was the main channel with low potential energy, $OSiF_2CNH$ was the main product. The analyses for the combining interaction between $SiF_2$ radical and HNCO with the atom-in-molecules theory (AIM) have been performed.
An Improved Consistent Subspace Identification Method Using Parity Space for State-space Models

In this paper, an alternative consistent subspace identification method using parity space is proposed. The future/past input data and the past output data are used to construct the instrument variable to eliminate thenoise effect on consistent estimation. The extended observability matrix and the triangular block-Toeplitz matrixare then retrieved from a parity space of the noise-free matrix using a singular value decomposition based method. The system matrices are finally estimated from the above estimated matrices. The consistency of the proposedmethod for estimation of the extended observability matrix and the triangular block-Toeplitz matrix is established. Compared with the classical SIMs using parity space like SIMPCA and SIMPCA-Wc, the proposed method generallyenhances the estimated model efficiency/accuracy thanks to the use of future input data. Two examples arepresented to illustrate the effectiveness and merit of the proposed method.
書評 : 口述史的佳作 -評習賢德敎授撰寫的<<警察與二二八事件>>

2012年7月, 習賢德敎授撰寫的『警察與二二八事件』一書在臺灣由時英出版社出版, 引起筆者的關注. 早在2006年筆者訪學於臺灣大學時, 曾和習敎授有過短暫交往. 2008年筆者訪學世新大學舍我紀念館期間, 與習敎授學術交流增多, 逐漸瞭解他是一位曾在新聞界打□多年, 後又轉向學界, 透過勤苦治學, 取得諸多成績的成大事者. 俗話說"十年磨一劍". 『警察與二二八事件』一書可以說是現爲臺灣輔仁大學大□傳播學硏究所副敎授兼新聞傳播學系主任和傳播學院行政副院長的習賢德敎授花費大量心血完成的精心之作. 在10多年前, 他卽開始拜訪1945年10月赴臺灣接收警務幷親歷"二二八事件"的國民黨中央警校臺灣幹部訓練班(以下簡稱"台幹班")的菁英, 幷完成了珍貴的口述史著作. 2007年, 習賢德敎授憑藉這部口述史的學術硏究成果--『二二八口述歷史補遺: 中央警校台幹班的集體記憶』一書獲得了美國紐約第15屆"萬人傑新聞文化奬", 頒奬委員會認定該書的價値在於"澄淸歷史疑點, 揭開事實眞相". 『警察與二二八事件』正是在上述一書的基礎上經過著者的逐段考據幷進行增補後出版發行的, 是近年來硏究和再認識"二二八事件"的一部口述史佳作.

Hui Xin was a prominent Manchu woman who did great contribution to women's education in Modem Chinese History. Her suicide for the Zhenwen Girls' School(?文女學) she founded was a shocked event in Late Qing period, arousing debates on news media, memorial meetings, and theatrics. This paper focuses on this tragic event to investigate the societal and historical reasons why various fields such as education, the press, theatrics etc. paid great attention to it and its social influence. What's more, this case study of searching for the history of Modem Chinese women's education helps us to understand the gender issues of Modem China.
