Clot Waveform Analysis for Hemostatic Abnormalities
Wada Hideo,Shiraki Katsuya,Matsumoto Takeshi,Shimpo Hideto,Shimaoka Motomu 대한진단검사의학회 2023 Annals of Laboratory Medicine Vol.43 No.6
Clot waveform analysis (CWA) observes changes in transparency in a plasma sample based on clotting tests such as activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), prothrombin time (PT), and thrombin time (TT). Evidence indicates that not only an abnormal waveform but also peak times and heights in derivative curves of CWA are useful for the evaluation of hemostatic abnormalities. Modified CWA, including the PT with APTT reagent, dilute PT (small amount of tissue factor [TF]-induced clotting factor IX [FIX] activation; sTF/FIXa), and dilute TT, has been proposed to evaluate physiological or pathological hemostasis. We review routine and modified CWA and their clinical applications. In CWA-sTF/FIXa, elevated peak heights indicate hypercoagulability in patients with cancer or thrombosis, whereas prolonged peak times indicate hypocoagulability in several conditions, including clotting factor deficiency and thrombocytopenia. CWA-dilute TT reflects the thrombin burst, whereas clot-fibrinolysis waveform analysis reflects both hemostasis and fibrinolysis. The relevance and usefulness of CWA-APTT and modified CWA should be further investigated in various diseases.

We propose a cosmological survey to probe star formation and nuclear activityin galaxies at redshifts of z = 2 - 4 by polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon(PAH) features usingthe SPICA mid-infrared instrument (SMI)with a spectral resolution of R = 20. We will cover a wavelength range of 20-36 μmthat corresponds to z = 2 - 4 for the PAH features(11.3, 7.7, and 6.2 μm). The sensitivity will be $1\times10^{-19}$ W/m$^2$ (5 $\sigma$)in case of a referencesurvey that covers 4 arcmin$^2$ field in a one-hour observation. It corresponds to L$_{\rm IR}$=$2\times10^{11}$ $L_\odot$ at z=3and will give us more than 10000 galaxies in a 450 hour survey.

A bilayer thin-film transistor (TFT) structure with ZnO and Al-doped ZnO (AZO) was fabricated using a solution process. The film thickness and sintering atmosphere of ZnO and AZO were controlled and then evaluated by measuring their electrical characteristics. By changing the sintering atmosphere, carriers attributed to oxygen vacancies in the thin film increased. Moreover, the ZnO single-layer TFT sintered in N2 exhibited good electrical characteristics. In the ZnO/AZO bilayer TFT laminated with the ZnO sintered in N2 and high-resistance AZO thin films, electrical characteristics, such as the On/Off ratio and subthreshold swing, improved compared to those of the ZnO-TFT. The On/Off ratio of the ZnO/AZO-TFT using the AZO thin film sintered in an O2 atmosphere notably improved to 3.7×105 compared to that of the ZnO-TFT (1.7×104). In addition, the subthreshold swing in the ZnO/AZO-TFT was 0.36 V/dec, while the field-effect mobility was 2.2×10−1 cm2/Vs, thereby exhibiting the best electrical characteristics among the fabricated samples. According to the grazingincidence X-ray diffraction measurement, the ZnO particle size and crystallinity of the ZnO/AZO bilayer were higher than those of the ZnO single layer. Therefore, improvement of the electrical characteristics was confirmed.

We demonstrate the luminosity dependence of the covering factor (CF) of active galactic nuclei (AGNs), based on AKARI mid-infrared all-sky survey catalog. Combining the AKARI with Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) spectroscopic data, we selected 243 galaxies at 9 $\mu$m and 255 galaxies at 18 $\mu$m. We then identified 64 AGNs at 9 $\mu$m and 105 AGNs at 18 $\mu$m by their optical emission lines. Following that, we estimated the CF as the fraction of type 2 AGN in all AGNs. We found that the CF decreased with increasing 18 $\mu$m luminosity, regardless of the choice of type2 AGN classification criteria.

We have created new catalogues of AKARI/IRC $2-24{\mu}m$ North Ecliptic Pole Deep survey through new methods of image analysis. In the new catalogues the number of false detection decreased by a factor of 10 and the number of objects detected in multiple bands increased by more than 1,500 compared to the previous work. In this proceedings the new methods of image analysis and the performance of the new catalogues are described.

THE 18 ㎛ LUMINOSITY FUNCTION OF GALAXIES WITH AKARI

We present the $18{\mu}m$ luminosity function (LF) of galaxies at 0.006 < z < 0.8 (the average redshift is ~ 0.04) using the AKARI mid-infrared All-Sky Survey catalogue. We have selected 243 galaxies at $18{\mu}m$ from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) spectroscopic region. These galaxies then have been classified into five types; Seyfert 1 galaxies (Sy1, including quasars), Seyfert 2 galaxies (Sy2), low ionization narrow emission line galaxies (LINER), galaxies that are likely to contain both star formation and Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) activities (composites), and star forming galaxies (SF) using optical emission lines such as the line width of $H{\alpha}$ or the emission line ratios of [OIII]/$H{\beta}$ and [NII]/$H{\alpha}$. As a result of constructing the LF of Sy1 and Sy2, we found the following results; (i) the number density ratio of Sy2 to Sy1 is $1.64{\pm}0.37$, larger than the results obtained from optical LF and (ii) the fraction of Sy2 in the entire AGN population may decrease with $18{\mu}m$ luminosity. These results suggest that most of the AGNs in the local universe are obscured by dust and the torus structure probably depends on the mid-infrared luminosity.
