Placental abnormality is the important predisposing cause of intrauterine growth retardation. Massive subchorionic hematoma is defined as a large size of maternal blood clot that separates the chorionic plate from the villous chorion and can result in serious obstetrical complications. We report a case of massive subchorionic hematoma diagnosed prenatally, and propose an additional peculiar finding detectable on both the ultrasound and magnetic resonance images: a large hematoma in the subchorionic region at 17 weeks gestation. At 18 weeks 2 days gestation, the fetus was miscarried. The clinical and pathological findings were compatible with massive subchorionic hematoma. Recurrent massive subchorionic hematoma without thrombophilic finding was observed at the next pregnancy in 17 weeks 5 days by ultrasound. The patient was managed conservatively and had successful outcome at term. So we report the case with the brief review of literatures.

본 연구는 가축생균제용 유산균을 Real-time PCR정량분석법을 이용하여 분석하였다. SYBR Green1 방법과 Probe 방법을 이용하여 표준곡선을 제작한 결과, SYBR Green1 방법에서는 Slope 값이 -3.346이었고, Y절편은 33.18, R² 값은 0.993으로 나타났으며, Probe 방법에서는 Slope값이 -3.321이었고, Y절편은 39.10, R² 값은 0.995로 나타나, 이를 이용한 표준곡선 제작이 가능함을 알 수 있었다. SYBR Green1 방법을 이용한 생균제의 Lactobacilli 정성ㆍ정량 분석결과 Real-time PCR값은 4.46~6.56 log copies로 나타났고, 생균수 측정 결과 값은 5.63~7.59 log CFU/g로 나타났으며, Probe 방법을 이용한 생균제의 Lactobacilli 정성ㆍ정량 분석결과에서는 Real-time PCR 값은 5.51~7.00 log copies로 나타났으며, 생균수 측정 결과 값은 5.63~7.59 log CFU/g로 나타났다. 본 연구에서 실시한 RT PCR법은 3~4일이 소요되는 기존의 배지법과 비교하여 24시간 이내에 신속하게 검출이 가능하다고 여겨지며, 또한 RT PCR을 이용한 분석방법에서도 dye 사용과 primer 사용에 따라 결과값이 차이가 나타났음을 확인할 수 있었으며, Probe 방법을 이용하여 실험 한 결과가 민감한 결과를 나타내었음을 확인 할 수 있었다. This study was conducted using quantitative real-time PCR using Lactobacilli as probiotics. Quantitative real-time PCR (RT PCR) was conducted via a method involving SYBR Green 1 and a probe. Plasmid DNA was cloned using the 16S-23S rRNA intergenic species region. Gene clones were diluted from 10² to 10¹?. Standard curves were constructed via Ct values obtained from the results of Real-time PCR via the aforementioned SYBR Green 1 and probe method. Plasmid DNA was also cloned using the 16S-23S rRNA intergenic species region and the gene clones were diluted from 10² to 10¹? copy numbers via the probe method. Using RT PCR, a standard curve of plasmid DNA copy numbers was also determined. The slope value for the Y-axis intercept and R² value were measured as -3.346, 33.18, and 0.993, respectively, via the first method. For the second method, the slope value for the Y-axis intercept and R² were -3.321, 31.10 and 0.995, respectively. The PCR inhibitor could not express the detection curve at a copy number over 10¹? via either method, owing to high DNA density. The DNA extract from probiotics was diluted without pre-culturing, and 16 products were amplified via both methods. The Ct value was 11.06~18.12 in the first method and 16.74~22.11 in the second method. Measured probiotics and log copy values were largely similar among the methods used. It was concluded that both methods are effective for analysis, but further research will be required to verify the optimal method.

목적: 외상이나 수술의 과거력 없이 자연적으로 발생한 수정체 관련 포도막염을 진단하고 치료하였기에 보고하고자 한다. 증례요약: 77세 여성이 내원 4일 전부터 발생한 우안의 시력 저하 및 안통을 주소로 내원하였다. 환자는 우안에 외상이나 수술 등의 과거력은 없었으며, 내원 당시 교정시력은 우안 안전수동, 좌안 0.22였고 안압은 우안이 27 mmHg, 좌안은 15 mmHg로 측정되었다. 전안부 검사에서 우안에 각막 부종, 전방축농과 심한 염증으로 수정체는 관찰되지 않았으며 안구초음파 검사에서는 수정체 뒤쪽으로 유리체 혼탁이 보였다. 우안 안내염으로 진단하에 전방 천자를 통한 염색 및 배양검사, 전방세척술을 시행하였다. 전방세척술 후 전낭손상 없이 과숙백내장이 관찰되어 수정체낭외적출술을 시행하고 유리체내 항생제 주입술을 함께 시행하였다. 술 후 도말 검사 및 세균배양검사는 모두 음성이었으며, 광학현미경 검사에서 수정체단백을 포식한 대식세포가 관찰되어 과숙백내장으로 인해 발생한 수정체 관련 포도막염으로 진단하였다. 술 후 항생제와 스테로이드 안약을 점안하고 경구 스테로이드를 사용하였으며 염증의 재발없이 치료되었다. 결론: 안내염과 비슷한 양상으로 내원한 환자에서 과숙백내장에 의한 포도막염을 진단하고 치료하였기에 보고하고자 한다. Purpose: To report a case of phacoanaphylactic uveitis presenting as endophthalmitis. Case summary: A 77-year-old woman presented with sudden visual disturbance and painful red right eye. She did not have a history of trauma or surgery in her right eye. Her best corrected visual acuity was hand movement in the right eye and log MAR 0.22 in the left eye; intraocular pressure was 27 mm Hg in the right eye and 15 mm Hg in the left eye. Slit-lamp examination revealed corneal edema and prominent inflammation with hypopyon in the anterior chamber. B-scan showed vitreous opacity behind the lens. Based on the diagnosis of endophthalmitis, anterior chamber paracentesis and irrigation were performed. After irrigation, a hypermature cataract with intact anterior capsule was observed. Therefore, we performed extracapsular cataract extraction and intravitreal antibiotics injection. Gram staining of the aqueous humor revealed numerous macrophages filled with lens protein but no organisms. She was treated with hourly topical corticosteroid and an antibiotic agent. One month later, the anterior chamber is clear, and the cultures remained negative. Conclusions: We report a case of spontaneous phacoanaphylactic uveitis presenting as endophthalmitis in a patient with no history of eye trauma or surgery.

Biological control of plant diseases including bacterial and fungal pathogens has been deliberated as a viable alternative method to harmful and expensive chemical control. Bacillus velezensis GH1-13 strain was reported as a multifunctional biological agent which inhibits the plant pathogens and utilized in sustainable agriculture for improving growth of the crops. The objective of this study is to evaluate the biological potential of Bacillus velezensis GH1-13 for effective use in agriculture and industrialization. The microbial formulations of GH1-13 strain were performed into liquid, powder, granule and pellet types. Total viable cells of four microbial formulations were verified more than 107 cfu/mL(g) during 8 weeks at 40℃, and the storage stability was considered under severe condition. Plant growth promoting of four formulation types were examined to pepper and tomato plants. The powder type showed the best effect such as stem length 25.6±0.72 cm, 10 petiole and stem length 35.3±0.46 cm, 11 petiole of pepper and tomato plant, respectively. Biocontrol effect of liquid and powder types was also tested against Colletotrichum gloeosporioides causing pepper anthracnose. The resulting, 100 fold diluted liquid type exhibited control effect of 65%, and side effect on pepper and tomato plants were not detected. From the results, we suggest that microbial formulations have significant effects as biological agents such as plant growth promoting and controlling the phytopathogenic fungi. In addition, we expect that microbial agent may be useful in agriculture, although further study is needed.

One of the most interesting congenital malformations is a conjoined twin. Conjoined twins are a rare occurrence in obstetric practice. More commonly known as Siamese twins, this phenomenon is shrouded in mystery and considered a curiosity by general public. Current technology is providing a basis for earlier diagnosis and a better prognosis. Frequently, the twins are born dead, but there are a few cases in which the twins survive. We present a case of thoraco-omphalophagus with omphalocele in 35 years old woman at 25weeks 5 days gestation by 3-D ultrasonography and MRI.
