새 이란 政府는 서구로부터 또 이란 국내 自體의 女性들로부터의 여성압력에 대처하기 위하여 共和國內 公式文書에 $quot;女權$quot;을 새로운 主要 테마로 채택했다. 국제적인 기자회견에서, 이란국민을 相對한 주요 연설문에서, 또 정부간행물과 公式文書에서 호메이니 體制는 매우 강력하게 女性을 위한 同等權의 政治를 보장하고 있다. 사실 새 憲法에서 이란여성들이 부여받은 同等權은 美國女性들이 女權을 위하여 수정을 요구하며 아직도 투쟁하고 있는 ERA 헌법개정안과 비슷한 것이다. 女權에 대한 떠들썩한 보장에도 불구하고, 女權의 公式的 보장에 대한 제도개혁 공표이래 이란여성들의 生活에 일어난 변화를 살펴보면, 사실 이 새로운 制度는 女權運動家의 동요를 침묵시키는 데에, 국제적 여룬을 만족시키는 데에, 사실상은 계속되고 있는 여성압제를 감추는 데에 사용되어 왔다는 것을 나타내 준다. 女權의 公式的인 認定과 同等權을 위하여 全世界에서 운동하고 있는 여권운동가들은 이러한 이란으로부터의 교훈을 잘 알아야 하며 女權에 대한 전세계적인 제도상의 利用을 경계하여야 한다. 왜냐하면 이란에서 예증된 형태의 여권보장은 女性들에게 보다는 정부행정에 더 유리함을 주게된 것이며, 그들 여성들에게 있어서 $quot;자유의 여명기는 사실상 매우 조그만 자유에서만 찾을 수 있을 것이다.$quot;

<P>We demonstrate the first all-fiber mode-group-selective photonic lantern using multimode graded-index fibers. Mode selectivity for mode groups LP(01), LP(11) and LP(21)+LP(02) is 20-dB, 10-dB and 7-dB respectively. The insertion loss when butt coupled to multimode graded-index fiber is below 0.6-dB. The use of the multimode graded-index fibers in the taper can significantly reduce the adiabaticity requirement.</P>

<P>We demonstrate cladding-pumped six-core Erbium-doped fiber amplifiers (EDFAs) using two different pump coupling schemes: edge-coupled and side-coupled pumping, where a single multimode laser diode can be applied to pump all cores. Using two in-line cladding-pumped EDFAs at the input and output of a 31-km coupled-six-core fiber, we realized 465-km space-division multiplexing and wavelength division multiplexing transmission in a recirculating loop and achieved a spectral efficiency of 18 bits/s/Hz. Through side-coupled pumping, the cladding-pumped six-core EDFA produced >18-dBm output power per core and had <;6-dB noise figure across the C-band.</P>

<P>We present experimental results for combined mode-multiplexed and wavelength multiplexed transmission over conventional graded-index multimode fibers. We use mode-selective photonic lanterns as mode couplers to precisely excite a subset of the modes of the multimode fiber and additionally to compensate for the differential group delay between the excited modes. Spatial mode filters are added to suppress undesired higher order modes. We transmit 30-Gbaud QPSK signals over 60 WDM channels, 3 spatial modes, and 2 polarizations, reaching a distance of 310 km based on a 44.3 km long span. We also report about transmission experiments over 6 spatial modes for a 17-km single-span experiment. The results indicate that multimode fibers support scalable mode-division multiplexing approaches, where modes can be added over time if desired. Also the results indicate that mode-multiplexed transmission distance over 300 km are possible in conventional multimode fibers.</P>
Capability of Tungsten Carbide Micro-mills to Machine Hardened Tool Steel

The aim of this study is to optimize micro-mills and their conditions of use to manufacture plastic injection molds in hardened tool steels by micro-milling. The presented results deal with the test of four types of tungsten carbide square end micro-mills in elementary operations with different feed rates and cutting speeds in order to analyze the evolution of cutting forces, cutting stability, tool life,tool wear, surface roughness and burs formation. This experimental approach allows highlighting the influence of cutting conditions,especially feed rate, on burr formation and tool life. This analysis shows a correlation between the micro-mills characteristics (geometry, composition of tungsten carbide) and their wear behavior. Moreover, some dynamic aspects of the micro-milling process are underlined through the influence of cutting speed on cutting stability. This type of experimental study is suitable for the optimization of the tool edge geometry and it reveals the need to develop a predictive model adapted to micro-milling to optimize the dynamic behavior of the tool.
