Off-grid direction-of-arrival estimation for wideband noncircular sources
Xiaoyu Zhang1,Haihong Tao,Ziye Fang,Jian Xie 한국전자통신연구원 2023 ETRI Journal Vol.45 No.3
Researchers have recently shown an increased interest in estimating the direction-of-arrival (DOA) of wideband noncircular sources, but existing studies have been restricted to subspace-based methods. An off-grid sparse recovery-based algorithm is proposed in this paper to improve the accuracy of existing algorithms in low signal-to-noise ratio situations. The covariance and pseudo covariance matrices can be jointly represented subject to block sparsity constraints by taking advantage of the joint sparsity between signal components and bias. Furthermore, the estimation problem is transformed into a single measurement vector problem utilizing the focused operation, resulting in a significant reduction in computational complexity. The proposed algorithm's error threshold and the Cramer–Rao bound for wideband noncircular DOA estimation are deduced in detail. The proposed algorithm's effectiveness and feasibility are demonstrated by simulation results.

Objective: To assess the effects of perioperative comprehensive supportive care interventions on outcome of Chinese esophageal cancer patients in a prospective study. Methods: 60 patients with primary esophageal carcinoma were randomized into an intervention group (IG, n=31) and a control group (CG, n=29). The Chinese version of symptom checklist-90 (SCL-90) was adopted to assess their psychological status. The interventions, including health education, psychological support, stress management, coping strategies and behavior training, were carried out in 3 phases (preoperative, postoperative I and postoperative II), and psychological effects were thereafter evaluated accordingly before surgery, and 1 week, 4 weeks and 24 weeks post-surgery. Medical costs were estimated at discharge. Survival of patients was estimated each year post-surgery. General health status and satisfaction-with-hospital were surveyed by a follow-up questionnaire 4 years post-surgery. Results: All the subjects demonstrated higher scores in the preoperative phase than the normal range of Chinese population concerning 7 psychological domains including somatization, obsessive-compulsive, depression, anxiety, hostility, phobic anxiety and paranoid ideation. Although no significant difference was observed between the two groups at admission, the scores of IG, which tended to decrease at a faster rate, were generally lower than those of CG at weeks 1, 4 and 24 post-surgery. The length of hospital stay and medical costs of IG were significantly less than those of CG and satisfaction-with-hospital was better. However, there was no significant difference in 4-year survival or health status between two groups. Conclusions: Appropriate perioperative comprehensive supportive care interventions help to improve the psychological state of Chinese patients with esophageal carcinoma, to reduce health care costs and to promote satisfaction of patients and their families with hospital.

Background/Aims There are increasing evidences for gastrointestinal motility disorder (GIMD) and gastric stress ulcer induced by noise stress. The present study was to investigate the reversed effect of melatonin on GIMD and gastric stress ulcer induced by noise stress and potential mechanism. Methods Noise stress was induced on rats, and melatonin (15 mg/kg) was administered to rats by intraperitoneal injection. Differences were assessed in gastric residual rate (GRR), small intestine propulsion rate (SPR), Guth injury score, cortisol, gastrointestinal hormones (calcitonin-gene-related peptide and motilin) and oxidative stress markers (superoxide dismutase and malondialde hyde) in blood plasma as well as gastric mucosa homogenate with or without melatonin. The pathological examination of gastric mucosa was also performed. Results The GRR and SPR were improved by noise stress compared with control (P < 0.05). The pathological examination and Guth injury score revealed gastric stress ulcer. Moreover, the levels of cortisol, motilin and malondialdehyde in blood plasma and malondialdehyde in gastric mucosa homogenate were increased by noise stress (P < 0.05). CGRP and superoxide dismutase activity in both of blood plasma and gastric mucosa homogenate were significantly decreased (P< 0.05). Furthermore, melatonin reversed changes in GRR, SPR, pathological examination, Guth injury score, cortisol, motilin, CGRP, superoxide dismutase activity and malondialdehyde (P < 0.05). Conclusions Melatonin is effective in reversing the GIMD and gastric stress ulcer induced by noise stress. The underlying mechanism may be involved in oxidative stress and gastrointestinal hormones. The purpose of this study is to identil3 the effects of sportswear brand& county-of-origin on purchase intention (P1) in terms of brand personality as perceived by Chinese university students. Chinese students preferred to shop for sportswear at specialty stores, liked Nike and Adidas most, design was the most important factor when selecting, selected their sportswear themselves, and gathered information from TV ads. With regard to perceptions of brands country-of-origin, America was perceived as a developed country, influential to the world, but as having a bad relationship with China. Germany was perceived as a developed county and as having a well-developed civic culture, good people image, high technology, high influence on the world, and a good relationship with China. Italy was perceived as a developed country with the highest civic culture. China was perceived as a developing county, as having a good people image, and low technology and low influence on the world. Japan was perceived as a developed county with high technology. Factors of brand personality were sincerity, competence & sophistication, and excitement. Nike was perceived as having high competence & sophistication and excitement, Adidas as having high competence & sophistication and excitement, Lining as having high sincerity, and Mizuno`s brand personality was very low. People image, competence & sophistication and excitement became higher, P1 of Adidas increased. If people image, competence & sophistication and excitement became higher, P1 of Kappa increased. If a country was developed and competence & sophistication and excitement became higher, P1 of Lining increased. If civic culture, people image, technology, competence & sophistication and excitement became higher, P1 of Mizuno increased.
THREE-STEP MEAN VALUE ITERATIVE SCHEME FOR VARIATIONAL INCLUSIONS AND NONEXPANSIVE MAPPINGS
Zhang, Fang,Su, Yongfu The Korean Society for Computational and Applied M 2009 Journal of applied mathematics & informatics Vol.27 No.3
In this paper, we present the three-step mean value iterative scheme and prove that the iteration sequence converge strongly to a common element of the set of fixed points of a nonexpansive mappings and the set of the solutions of the variational inclusions under some mild conditions. The results presented in this paper extend, generalize and improve the results of Noor and Huang and some others.

Purpose: To compare the relative merits of imatinib and allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) for chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML). Materials and Methods: This cohort study was designed to compare the outcomes of imatinib (n=292) versus allo-HSCT (n=141) for CML, the clinical data of these patients being retrospectively analyzed so as to compare the event free survival (EFS) and overall survival (OS) between these two groups with patients in the chronic phase (CP) and advanced phases, including accelerate (AP) and blast phases (BP). Results: (1) Patients treated with imatinib (278 in the CP) demonstrated superior EFS, OS, 5-year EFS and 5-year OS rates of 88.5% versus 70.0% (P<0.05), 93.2% versus 80.0% (P<0.05), 84% versus 75.0% (P<0.05) and 92% versus 79.0% (P<0.05), respectively, to those treated with allo-HSCT (120 patients in the CP). (2) Both treatments resulted in similar survival, with EFS and OS rates of 42.9% versus 47.6% (P>0.05), 42.9% versus 57.1% (P> 0.05), respectively, for imatinib (14 patients in the AP and BP) and allo-HSCT (21 patients in the AP and BP). Conclusions: Imatinib confers significant survival advantage (EFS and OS) for CML patients with CP compared with allo-HSCT treatment. However, the outcomes are equally good with both treatments in AP and BP patients.

We construct a four-level system where a metastable state is included in an $Er^{3+}$ Doped Yttrium aluminum garnet (YAG) crystal. Because of the action of the coherent field, the traditional light amplification with inversion can be exhibited with remarkable variation. As a result, we propose a method to achieve the gain equalization by atomic coherence. At the same time, we find that the high index of refraction accompanied by vanishing absorption can also be reached in this model. We also find that a higher index of refraction with zero absorption can be easily obtained when the coherent field is off resonance.
In Situ-DRIFTS Study of Rh Promoted CuCo/Al2O3 for Ethanol Synthesis via CO Hydrogenation
Fang Li,Hongfang Ma,Haitao Zhang,Weiyong Ying,Dingye Fang 대한화학회 2014 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.35 No.9
The promoting effect of rhodium on the structure and activity of the supported Cu-Co based catalysts for CO hydrogenation was investigated in detail. The samples were characterized by DRIFTS, N2-adsorption, XRD, H2-TPR, H2-TPD and XPS. The results indicated that the introduction of rhodium to Cu-Co catalysts resulted in modification of metal dispersion, reducibility and crystal structure. DRIFTS results of CO hydrogenation at reaction condition (P=2 MPa, T=260 oC) indicated the addition of 1 wt % rhodium improved hydrogenation ability of Cu-Co catalysts. The ethanol selectivity and CO conversion were both improved by 1 wt % Rh promoted Cu-Co based catalysts. The alcohol distribution over un-promoted and rhodium promoted Cu-Co based catalysts obeys A-S-F rule and higher chain growth probability was got on rhodium promoted catalyst.
