Damage evaluation and prediction of steel box structures under internal blast

        Shujian Yao,Zhifu Wang,Duo Zhang,Fangyun Lu,Nan Zhao,Yanjing Wang 대한기계학회 2022 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.36 No.10

In this study, a rapid prediction method for the damage range evaluation of steel box structures under internal blast load was proposed. First, we carried out a dimensional analysis of the damage range, determined the main influencing factors, and built a predictive model. Then, a large number of numerical simulations were conducted with consideration of different steel grades, structural dimensions, plate thicknesses, and explosive weights. After that, according to the damage range data for all the working conditions obtained with the simulation, the failure mode diagrams were drawn on a dimensionless coordinate axis and a twodimensional dimensionless number coordinate system. Based on this, the damage range for different working conditions was observed, and empirical equations were proposed to quickly predict the damage range of the steel box structure during a blast load. Finally, the correctness of the proposed quick prediction method was verified through field blast experiments result.

Probiotics Increase Intramuscular Fat and Improve the Composition of Fatty Acids in Sunit Sheep through the Adenosine 5′-Monophosphate-Activated Protein Kinase (AMPK) Signaling Pathway

        Yue Zhang,Duo Yao,Huan Huang,Min Zhang,Lina Sun,Lin Su,LiHua Zhao,Yueying Guo,Ye Jin 한국축산식품학회 2023 한국축산식품학회지 Vol.43 No.5

This experiment aims to investigate the impact of probiotic feed on growth performance, carcass traits, plasma lipid biochemical parameters, intramuscular fat and triglyceride content, fatty acid composition, mRNA expression levels of genes related to lipid metabolism, and the activity of the enzyme in Sunit sheep. In this experiment, 12 of 96 randomly selected Sunit sheep were assigned to receive the basic diet or the basic diet supplemented with probiotics. The results showed that supplementation with probiotics significantly increased the loin eye area, and decreased plasma triglycerides and free fatty acids, increasing the content of intramuscular fat and triglycerides in the muscle and improving the composition of the fatty acids. The inclusion of probiotics in the diet reduced the expression of adenosine 5’-monophosphate-activated protein kinase alpha 2 (AMPKα2) mRNA and carnitine palmitoyltransferase 1B (CPT1B) mRNA, while increasing the expression of acetyl-CoA carboxylase alpha (ACCα) mRNA, sterol regulatory elementbinding protein-1c (SREBP-1c) mRNA, fatty acid synthase mRNA, and stearoyl-CoA desaturase 1 mRNA. The results of this study indicate that supplementation with probiotics can regulate fat deposition and improves the composition of fatty acids in Sunit sheep through the signaling pathways AMPK-ACC-CPT1B and AMPK-SREBP-1c. This regulatory mechanism leads to an increase in intramuscular fat content, a restructuring of muscle composition of the fatty acids, and an enhancement of the nutritional value of meat. These findings contribute to a better understanding of the food science of animal resources and provide valuable references for the production of meat of higher nutritional value.

Impact of feeding regimens on the composition of gut microbiota and metabolite profiles of plasma and feces from Mongolian sheep

        Bohui Wang,Yulong Luo,Rina Su,Duo Yao,Yanru Hou,Chang Liu,Rui Du,Ye Jin 한국미생물학회 2020 The journal of microbiology Vol.58 No.6

Mongolian sheep are an indigenous ruminant raised for wool and meat production in China. The gut microbial community plays an important role in animal performance and metabolism. The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of two feeding regimens on the diversity and composition of gut microbiota and metabolite profiles of feces and plasma from Mongolian sheep. A total of 20 Mongolian sheep were assigned to one of two feeding regimens: free grazing (FG) and barn confinement (BC). When samples were collected, the average live weights of the sheep were 31.28 ± 1.56 kg and 34.18 ± 1.87 kg for the FG and BC groups, respectively. At the genus level, the FG group showed higher levels of Bacteroides, RC9_gut_group, Alistipes, Phocaeicola, Barnesiella, and Oscillibacter, and lower levels of Succinivibrio, Treponema, and Prevotella, compared to the BC group. The butyric acid content in feces was lower in the FG group (P < 0.05). Higher levels of palmitic acid, oleic acid, alpha-linolenic acid, L-carnitine, L-citrulline, and L-histidine, and lower levels of L-tyrosine, L-phenylalanine, and L-kynurenine were found in the plasma of the FG sheep. Moreover, there were substantial associations between several gut microbiota genera and alterations in feces and plasma metabolites especially those involved in the metabolism of butyric acid, linolenic acid, and L-tyrosine. Feeding regimens can not only influence the composition of gut microbiota, but also alter metabolic homeostasis in sheep.

Computing Pore Size Distribution in Non-woven Fibrous Filter Media

        He Bai,Xiaoming Qian,Jintu Fan,Yao Qian,Yongchao Duo,Yongsheng Liu,Xiaobo Wang 한국섬유공학회 2020 Fibers and polymers Vol.21 No.1

Fundamental understanding of transport properties of non-woven fibrous material is depended on in dept cognitionof their microstructure. Non-woven fibrous filter media are formed by the random distribution of fibers in a specific spaceexhibit a complicated pore size structure. Computing pore size distribution (PSD) is a vital parameter in studying materialtransport dynamics. In this work, a theoretical model was suggested based on the gamma distribution and fiber orientationdistribution to predict the PSD in non-woven fibrous filter media. In parallel, the analytical model was compared with theprevious PSD theories and experimental results. The 3D virtual fiber structure was constructed by using GeoDict code, andthe pore size was represented by the inscribed circle diameter. Parameters influencing the PSD were studied, including fiberdiameter, porosity, and fiber orientation. Comparison of simulation results with analytical model was made. The resultsdemonstrate that the angle between the fiber and the Z-axis has little effect on the PSD. When the porosity is consistent, smaller pores can be formed by reducing fiber diameter. With the fiber diameter is constant, larger pores can be formed byincreasing the porosity.

Direct bandgap type-I Ge quantum dots/GeSnSi for SWIR and MWIR lasers

        Liyao Zhang,Peng Yu,Shuang Yao,Duo Feng,Jinmeng Dai 대한금속·재료학회 2022 ELECTRONIC MATERIALS LETTERS Vol.18 No.1

A direct bandgap type-I Ge QDs/Ge1−y−zSnySiz double-heterostructure on Ge1−xSnx virtual substrates is proposed for SWIRand MWIR lasers. The Ge1−y−zSnySiz barrier is lattice-matched to Ge1−xSnx. The band structures are calculated with differentto Sn contents in Ge1−y−zSnySiz and Ge1−xSnx. The band edge energies of Ge QDs vary linearly with x, and independent withy. The Γ-valley is below L-valley when x exceeds 7.5%. The ground states of electrons of Γ- and L-conduction band varieswith both x and y. High x and y can increase the conduction band offsets and decrease the valence band offsets. Emissionwavelengths range from 1.91 to 4.6 μm are achieved from the proposed structure with proper Sn contents.

      • HPV16 CTL Epitope Peptide-activated Dendritic Cell and Natural Killer Co-culture for Therapy of Cervical Cancer in an Animal Model

        Hu, Yan-Xia,Li, Min,Jia, Xiao-Hui,Du, Qu-Xiao,Miao, Feng-Tai,Yao, Li,Shen, Ji-Duo Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.12

There is increasing evidence that natural killer (NK) cells play an important role in antitumor immunity following dendritic cell (DC) vaccination. Little is known, however, about the optimal stimulation of DCs by epitopes and NK interactions for cytotoxicity in tumors. In this study, DC cells activated by the HPV16E7.49-57 epitope and LPS were co-cultured with NK cells in vitro, and then used ot immunize mice to study CTL activity of TC-1, which constitutively expresses HPV16E6E7, with an LDH release assay. Cytotoxicity in mice immunized with DC loaded with epitope HPVE7.49-57 vaccine co-cultured with NK was enhanced significantly (p<0.01). In conclusion, talk-across between DC and NK cells enhances their functions, also improving cytotoxicity againsttumor cells, suggesting that activated DC-NK by epitopes has potential application for cancer-specific immuno-cellular therapy.
