Because of the extreme climatic differences between altitudes, cattle farmers in alpine areas have been reluctant to introduce cool-season grasses. The objectives of this study were to compare the survival and yield of 56 cultivars of 8 cool-season grass species at the different altitudes of Chungdong (1,000m a.s.l.) and Hwangbeongsan (1,400 a.s.l.) alpine areas of eastern Korea. Ground cover, plant height, heading date, dry matter yield, and winter survival were measured for three years. Among the grass species tested, timothy(Phleum pratense L.), red top(Agrotis gigantea Roth), and reed canarygrass(Phalaris arundinacea L.) appeared to be the most productive and winter hardy at Chungdong area(1,000m a.s.l.), but no winter survival grass species were found at Hwangbeongsan area (1,400m a.s.l.) except timothy. The most promising cultivars compared with checks proved to be 'Hokuo' , 'Odenwalder' and 'Tiller' for timothy, 'Streaker' for red top, and 'Palaton' and 'Venture' for reed canarygrass at Chungdong area. Red top, timothy and reed canarygrass could be recommended for establishing as well as reseeding pastures and meadows at the low altitude (1,000m a.s.l.) of eastern Korea, but timothy can be recommended at the high altitude (1,400m a.s.l.).

This study carried to investigate the effect of auxins and cytokinins on the callus growth and embryogenesis Cucumis melo L. Through the culture of cotyledon, hypocotyl and leaf segment of Cucumis melo L. cultured on the Murashige and Skoog medium. The results obtained were summarized as follows: 1. Callus growth was favored on the medium supplemented with 1.0mg/ℓNAA and 0.5mg/ℓBA. There was no difference among explant sources on callus growth. 2. Embryogenesis from callus was significantly increased on the medium containing 0.3mg/ℓ kinetin and 3.0mg/ℓ IAA by batch suspension culture.
데커시놀추출물의 경구투여후 흰쥐에 있어서의 약물속도론적 연구

The objective of this study is to investigate the pharmacokinetic parameters of decursinol following oral administration in Sprague-Dawley rats. The plasm concentration of decursinol was determined by LC/MS with APCL positive mode. The m/z value of decursinol was observed at 247. Folowing oral administration of decursinol extract, the apparent clearance was 5.3±2.7 ml/hr/rat, the absorption half life was 2.5±0.41 hr, the elimination half life was 3.05±1.57 hr and the apparent volume of distribution was 21±12 ml/rat. The LC/MS method was successfully applied to the phar-macokinetic study of decursinol.

In this research, we developed the δ_5 clip gage based on strain gage application and the adaptor which keep the ends of clip on two marked positions during test. The results of research are following: The δ_5 clip gage with gage length of 5㎜ and the calibrator were developed. The adaptor for the attachment of δ_5 clip gage to the specimen was developed. The accuracy and repeatability of δ_5 clip gage turns out to be good in comparison with those of conventional clip gages.

A study on the natural convection inside an L-shaped enclosure of which left wall is maintained at T_C and right wall and part of the bottom are T-H has been performed numeriacally for aspect ratio A=1, geometrically different five cases and for Ra=1×10³∼1×10^5. As the L-shape of the enclosure goes thinner vertically and horizontally like case 5, the mean Nusselt number at the left cold wall becomes smaller for same Ra, and there is little influence of the increase of Ra on mean Nusselt number.

Using F_1 seed production on monecious flowers of Cucumis melo L., three of monoecious and four varities of dioecious were used as material in order to study inheritable mechanism and their characteristics. 1. Monoecious type were segregated 20 : 0 (1 : 0) from Go to G_1, 20 : 0 (1 : 0) F_1 between andromomoecious and 47 : 13 (3 : 1) as well as 33 : 7 (3 : 1) in F_2. Consequently it seems to be inherited by dominant single gene of AA in monoecious and recessive gene of aa in andromonoecious type. 2. However, it was guessed to be possessed of gene type that was effected by environment in monoecious type of U.S.S.R. 409. 3. Three varities of monoecious were poor condition in the practical quality aspect. The variety of U.S.S.R. 409 that was under the control of environment and it was extremly segregated quality has possiblity of useful quality selection compere with others respectably.

<P>This study compared the efficacy of DA-9601 (Dong-A ST Co., Seoul, Korea) and its new formulation, DA-5204 (Dong-A ST Co.), for treating erosive gastritis. This phase III, randomized, multicenter, double-blind, non-inferiority trial randomly assigned 434 patients with endoscopically proven gastric mucosal erosions into two groups: DA-9601 3 times daily or DA-5,204 twice daily for 2 weeks. The final analysis included 421 patients (DA-5204, 209; DA-9601, 212). The primary endpoint (rate of effective gastric erosion healing) and secondary endpoints (cure rate of endoscopic erosion and gastrointestinal [GI] symptom relief) were assessed using endoscopy after the treatment. Drug-related adverse events (AEs), including GI symptoms, were also compared. At week 2, gastric healing rates with DA-5204 and DA-9601 were 42.1% (88/209) and 42.5% (90/212), respectively. The difference between the groups was −0.4% (95% confidence interval, −9.8% to 9.1%), which was above the non-inferiority margin of −14%. The cure rate of gastric erosion in both groups was 37.3%. The improvement rates of GI symptoms with DA-5204 and DA-9601 were 40.4% and 40.8%, respectively. There were no statistically significant differences between the two groups in both secondary endpoints. AEs were reported in 18 (8.4%) patients in the DA-5204 group and 19 (8.8%) in the DA-9601 group. Rates of AE were not different between the two groups. No serious AE or adverse drug reaction (ADR) occurred. These results demonstrate the non-inferiority of DA-5204 compared to DA-9601. 카드뮴 장기간 투여에 따른 흰쥐의 신장내 카드뮴 축적량과 뇨중 배설량의 변화

This study was performed to compare the cadmium accumulation levels in kidney with urinary cadmium excretion levels according to the duration of cadmium exposure in rats. Total 120 male rats, 6 weeks of age, were administered 0.5 mg/day of Cd to subcutaneously, intraperitoneally and orally 6 times per week for 12 weeks. The animals were sacrificed in the 1st day of 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th and 12th week after beginning of cadmium administrations. Body weight, hematologic values, enzyme activities, renal Cd levels, urinary Cd and proteins were calculated and each value was compared according to the Cd administration routes. The Cd accumulation levels in the kidney of rats increased remarkably for 6-8th weeks which were experimented and urinary Cd excretion levels and urinary protein levels showed the tendency of increasing with the Cd accumulations in kidneys, especially in the subcutaneous injected rats. On the other hand, there was a significant positive correlation among the total Cd administration, the Cd accumulation in the kidneys, the urinary Cd excretion and protein.
