      • Internship Evaluation to Improve Students’ Employability Skills in Culinary Art Department, Faculty of Engineering, Yogyakarta State University

Dewi Eka Murniati 한국직업자격학회 2017 한국직업자격학회 학술대회 Vol.2017 No.10

This study aims to analyze the internship implemented in Culinary Art Department, Faculty of Engineering, Yogyakarta State University (PT B Indonesia_Dewi E Murniatioga FT UNY) to improve the students employability skills. Based on preliminary observations of researchers, there are several things that need to be attentive to the implementation of the Internship in PT Boga FT UNY. This study is expected to be one of Internship evaluation in PT Boga FT UNY to improve students’ employability skills as a responsibility of education institutions to students as its main consumer. This type of research was ex post facto with a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected by structured interviews will be used to obtain qualitative data. The study population was student supervisors in the Internship location, especially in Yogyakarta and surrounding areas totaling 16 hotels in Yogyakarta, Magelang and Surakarta. The research sample was a number of 6 hotels 4 and 5 in Yogyakarta and Magelang. Data was collected at the time of execution of the internship program in July-September 2016. The method used in the study was an evaluation study using a model approach Context, Input, Process, and Product (CIPP). The result shows that the internship program in PT Boga FT UNY cannot improve student employability skills yet. This is because there is a gap between the findings of Internship guidance of FT UNY (the standard criteria) with facts on the ground. To overcome these issues, industry provides some considerations which are relevant to: (1) Context, includes the internship debriefing related to: the understanding and agreement on objectives PI, the technical execution as the application petition, and the procedure of resume writing, interviewing, training interpersonal skills, matching the interest and competence of students with industry requirements, (2) input, includes a database system of integrated internship location, and MoU or agreement with industry, (3) Process, including curriculum and mentoring PI, (4) Product, covering students’ assessment and internship reports.

Effect of Tocopherols, Tocotrienols, β-Carotene, and Chlorophyll on the Photo-oxidative Stability of Red Palm Oil

Dewi Fortuna Ayu,Nuri Andarwulan,Purwiyatno Hariyadi,Eko Hari Purnomo 한국식품과학회 2016 Food Science and Biotechnology Vol.25 No.2

Effect of tocols, β-carotene, and chlorophyll on photo-oxidative stability of red palm oil (RPO) were studied. Model systems of triacylglycerols+tocols, triacylglycerols+β-carotene, triacylglycerols +tocols+β-carotene, and triacylglycerols+tocols+β-carotene+chlorophyll were exposed to fluorescent light at intensities of 5,000, 10,000, and 15,000 lux for 7 h at 30±2oC. Changes in concentrations of tocopherols, tocotrienols, β-carotene, chlorophyll, and peroxide values were evaluated every hour. Light intensity accelerated degradation of tocols in the triacylglycerols+tocols system and β-carotene in the triacylglycerols+β-carotene system. Gamma-tocotrienol showed the highest degradation rate and β-carotene was the most sensitive compound to changes in light intensity, indicated by the lowest light intensity coefficient (zi) value. The presence of tocols and β-carotene together showed protective effects for the photo-oxidative stability of RPO. The presence of chlorophyll increased the rate of photo-oxidation at high light intensities. Interactions between tocols and β-carotene contributed to the photo-oxidative stability of RPO.

Influence of Adaptor on the Calibration of Inductance Standards

Dewi Mohd Kassim,Dan Bee Kim,Wan-Seop Kim 대한전기학회 2018 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.13 No.2

Influence of the adaptors on the calibration of 100 μH inductance standard was studied as a function of torque, applied when tightening the standard inductor terminal with the adaptor. Two different homemade adaptors of BPO gold-plated brass (BPO-Au) and banana-copper (BN-Cu) were made for the connection between the LCR meter and the inductance standard. The measured inductance (L) of the standard inductor and the contact resistance (RC) between the adaptor and the standard inductor terminal showed exponential decreases against the torque increase from 25 cN·m to 150 cN·m. The measured L and the calculated equivalence series resistance (RS) were dependent on the adaptor type as well as on the RC. The results of the adaptor analysis imply that the BPO-Au adaptor with the lower RC is more suitable for the inductance calibration. The calculated inductance of 99.956 μH corrected by subtraction of the adaptor inductance and the contact resistance contributions from the measured value using the BPO-Au adaptor agreed well with the certificate (99.948 μH) of the PTB within the measurement uncertainty of 140 μH/H.

Review : A Review of Technologies to Prolong the Shelf Life of Fresh Tropical Fruits in Southeast Asia

( Dewi Kusumaningrum ),( Seung Hyun Lee ),( Wang Hee Lee ),( Changyeun Mo ),( Byoung Kwan Cho ) 한국농업기계학회 2015 바이오시스템공학 Vol.40 No.4

Southeast Asia, a typical tropical region, plays an important role in exporting a variety of fruits worldwide. The market for fresh fruits has been growing consistently, and this is a chance for Southeast Asian countries to increase their national income. However, export of tropical fruits has limitations such as a short shelf life and difficulty in maintaining the quality because of tropical climate conditions and undeveloped postharvest technologies in Southeast Asia. An important objective for developing postharvest technologies is to extend the shelf life of fresh fruits without deterioration in fruit quality. Therefore, it is essential to determine factors that affect the shelf life of fruits. The shelf life of tropical fruits is significantly dependent on the inherent properties of the fruits, extrinsic conditions, postharvest treatment, and microbial contamination. Recently, Southeast Asian countries have supported agricultural research groups for developing new postharvest technologies and minimizing postharvest losses and maintaining export fruit quality so that the total sales of tropical fruit farms can increase. This review introduces how the primary factors for extending the shelf life of tropical fruits can be determined and discusses the development of postharvest technologies for tropical fruits in Southeast Asian countries.

Nonhuman primate model in mammary gland biology and neoplasia research

        Dewi Fitriya N.,Cline J. Mark 한국실험동물학회 2021 Laboratory Animal Research Vol.37 No.1

Research on breast cancer pathogenesis, prevention and drug development remains an important field as this disease is still one of the leading causes of cancer death worldwide. Nonhuman primates, particularly macaque species, may serve as a highly translational animal model in breast cancer studies due to their similarity with humans in genetics, anatomy, reproductive and endocrine physiology including mammary gland development profile. The use of nonhuman primates in biomedical research, however, requires high ethical standards and an increasing expectation to improve strategies to replace, reduce and refine their use. Here, we discuss some key features of nonhuman primate mammary gland biology relevant to their strengths and limitations as models in studies of breast development and cancer risk.

Perceived Distribution Quality Awareness, Organizational Culture, TQM on Quality Output

        Dewi Budhiartini Juli ISNAINI,Yuris DANILWAN,Daduk Merdika MANSUR,Gunawan Bata ILYAS,Sri MURTINI,Muhammad Ybnu TAUFAN 한국유통과학회 2021 유통과학연구 Vol.19 No.12

Purpose: For the last few decades, TQM has become a hot topic in the inner-disciplinary field in the production management line. Still, unfortunately, the study of TQM and Quality Output management is partially only attached to the tangible side in the production management line. Whereas theoretically, the implications of TQM require incremental improvement in all management lines (e.g., HRM, Marketing, Operations, and Distribution Management). Therefore, starting from the main problem, this study aims to analyze the effect of total quality management, Organizational Culture, Perceived Distribution of Quality Awareness, and quality output through a more in-depth analysis. Research design, data and methodology: We conducted a survey of 170 respondents from managers, staff, and employees from 48 companies in Indonesia. We used a quantitative approach with the SEM method to answer this study s problem formulation and hypotheses. Results: The results of our research stated that based on the demonstration of statistical test results, all hypotheses were positive and significant, both direct and indirect relationship demonstrations. Conclusions: Universally, the findings in this study illustrate that the supporting factor for creating value-added in TQM and Quality output lies in the optimal and positive organizational culture and Perceived Distribution Quality Awareness factors in the organization.
