Morphological variations and accessory ossicles in the peroneal and tibialis muscles

This study describes five bilateral anatomical variations in the feet of a 97-year-old male cadaver. Following routine dissection, all variants were measured and documented. Three accessory tendons and two accessory ossicles were identified. Bilateral accessory tendons were present from the tibialis anterior (type II), peroneus tertius (type III), and peroneus brevis muscles. Accessory tendon length was 36–104 mm and width was 1–3 mm each inserting more distally then the main tendon. Accessory ossicles were identified as an accessory navicular and os peroneum, respectively. Individually, each variation has varying prevalence rates in the literature, but to date, no known studies have been published describing the combined presence of all five bilateral variations. The acknowledgement of multi-variant cases such as this one may be helpful in the clinical setting, particularly for patients with pathology or for those undergoing foot and ankle surgery.

이 연구는 의미분별기법에 의한 기술에 대한 태도를 측정하기 위한 도구를 개발하고, 한국 및 미국 중학생들의 기술의 태도의 차이를 비교하기 위하여 수행되었다. 따라서 연구 방법은 조사연구로 수행되었으며, 예비조사를 통하여 측정도구를 최종 개발하였고, 본조사는 한국의 중학생 199명, 미국의 중학생 88명을 대상으로 수행 되었다. 수집된 데이터는 SPSS PC+ 통계 프로그램을 통하여 기술 분석, 신뢰도 분석, 요인 분석, 일원 변량분석 등의 통계 기법이 사용되었으며, 통계적 검증의 유의 수준은 0.05로 하였다. 이 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 이 연구에서 개발된 기술에 태도 측정 도구의 신뢰도는 0.875이고, 33개의 형용사짝으로 구성되었고, 6개의 요인으로 군집화하였다. 한국 및 미국의 중학생들의 기술에 대한 태도는 33개의 형용사짝 중에서 17개의 변인에서 차이를 보였고, 요인분석에 의한 6개 요인으로 군집화 한 분석 결과는 5개의 요인에서 차이가 검증되었다. 한국 학생들은 ‘행동요인’’상상요인’’외적 요인’에서 긍정적 태도를 보인 반면, 미국 학생들은 ‘가치요인’’감정요인’ 등에서 긍정적 태도를 보인 것으로 나타났다.

<P>In the quiet solar photosphere, the mixed polarity fields form a magnetic carpet that continuously evolves due to dynamical interaction between the convective motions and magnetic field. This interplay is a viable source to heat the solar atmosphere. In this work, we used the line-of-sight (LOS) magnetograms obtained from the Helioseismic and Magnetic Imager on the Solar Dynamics Observatory, and the Imaging Magnetograph eXperiment instrument on the Sunrise balloon-borne observatory, as time-dependent lower boundary conditions, to study the evolution of the coronal magnetic field. We use a magneto-frictional relaxation method, including hyperdiffusion, to produce a time series of three-dimensional nonlinear force-free fields from a sequence of photospheric LOS magnetograms. Vertical flows are added up to a height of 0.7 Mm in the modeling to simulate the non-force-freeness at the photosphere-chromosphere layers. Among the derived quantities, we study the spatial and temporal variations of the energy dissipation rate and energy flux. Our results show that the energy deposited in the solar atmosphere is concentrated within 2 Mm of the photosphere and there is not sufficient energy flux at the base of the corona to cover radiative and conductive losses. Possible reasons and implications are discussed. Better observational constraints of the magnetic field in the chromosphere are crucial to understand the role of the magnetic carpet in coronal heating.</P>

A simultaneous determination of prostaglandin E₂, A₂ and B₂ for stability studies of PGE₂ in solution has been developed by reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography using a 3 μm C_(18) column. The mobile phase consisted of 35% acetonitrile in 0.002 M phosphate buffer (pH 3.5) at a flow rate of 1.5 ㎖/min. Quantitative measurement was performed at 192 ㎚. The method has been applied to primary kinetic studies on the main degradation reaction profile for PGE₂ → PGA₂ → PGB₂ at 60℃ in pH 2.0, 7.2, and 10.0 buffer solutions and confirmed the mole percent kinetics of PGE₂, PGA₂ and PGB₂ for over 150 h.
