Thanh-Vu Dang(Thanh-Vu Dang),김진영(JinYoung Kim),유광현(Gwang-Hyun Yu),김지용(Ji Yong Kim),박영환(Young Hwan Park),이칠우(ChilWoo Lee) 한국스마트미디어학회 2023 스마트미디어저널 Vol.12 No.1
Natural Language Processing (NLP) has grown tremendously in recent years. Typically, bilingual, and multilingual translation models have been deployed widely in machine translation and gained vast attention from the research community. On the contrary, few studies have focused on translating between spoken and sign languages, especially non-English languages. Prior works on Sign Language Translation (SLT) have shown that a mid-level sign gloss representation enhances translation performance. Therefore, this study presents a new large-scale Korean sign language dataset, the Museum-Commentary Korean Sign Gloss (MCKSG) dataset, including 3828 pairs of Korean sentences and their corresponding sign glosses used in Museum-Commentary contexts. In addition, we propose a translation framework based on self-supervised learning, where the pretext task is a text-to-text from a Korean sentence to its back-translation versions, then the pre-trained network will be fine-tuned on the MCKSG dataset. Using self-supervised learning help to overcome the drawback of a shortage of sign language data. Through experimental results, our proposed model outperforms a baseline BERT model by 6.22%.

The design of coreeshell heteronanostructures is powerful tool to control both the gas selectivity and the sensitivity due to their hybrid properties. In this work, the SnO2eZnO coreeshell nanowires (NWs) were fabricated via two-step process comprising the thermal evaporation of the single crystalline SnO2 NWs core and the spray-coating of the grainy polycrystalline ZnO shell for enhanced ethanol sensing performance. The as-obtained products were investigated by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and photoluminescence. The ethanol gas-sensing properties of pristine SnO2 and ZnOeSnO2 core eshell NW sensors were studied and compared. The gas response to 500 ppm ethanol of the coreeshell NW sensor increased to 33.84, which was 12.5-fold higher than that of the pristine SnO2 NW sensor. The selectivity of the coreeshell NW sensor also improved. The response to 100 ppm ethanol was about 14.1,whereas the response to 100 ppm liquefied petroleum gas, NH3, H2, and CO was smaller, and ranged from 2.5 to 5.3. This indicates that the coreeshell heterostructures have great potential for use as gas sensing materials.

This paper investigates the determinants of credit accessibility and the effect of credit on the income of farm households borrowing from Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, Giong Rieng District Branch, Kien Giang Province. Based on the primary data of 200 farming households who are the customer of the bank, the study applied the Probit regression model to examine determinant factors of credit accessibility of farm households and employed the Propensity score matching method to investigate the impact of credit on households’ income. The findings of the Probit regression shown that three independent variables that significantly influence the access to credit of households are household size, income source, and farm size. Besides that, the Propensity score matching method results showed a difference of 23.799 million VND/year between the income of borrowing households and that of non-borrowing households at the significance level of 1%. The difference in the imcome from the interval and central matching methods are VND 24.700 million VND/year and VND 24.633 million VND/year, respectively. Given empirical findings suggetsted that several recommendations to increase the credit accessibility of farm households, thereby creating favorable conditions for improving their income.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>In this work, we present a detailed study on the magnetic properties and the magnetocaloric effect (MCE) of La1−xKxMnO3 compounds with <I>x</I>=0.05–0.2. Our results pointed out that the Curie temperature (<I>T</I> C) could be controlled easily from 213 to 306K by increasing K-doping concentration (<I>x</I>) from 0.05 to 0.2. In the paramagnetic region, the inverse of the susceptibility can be analyzed by using the Curie-Weiss law, <I>χ</I>(<I>T</I>)=<I>C</I>/(<I>T</I>−<I>θ</I>). The results have proved an existence of ferromagnetic clusters at temperatures above <I>T</I> C. Based on Banerjee's criteria, we also pointed out that the samples are the second-order phase transition materials. Their magnetic entropy change was calculated by using the Maxwell relation and a phenomenological model. Interestingly, the samples with <I>x</I>=0.1–0.2 exhibit a large MCE in a range of 282–306K, which are suitable for room-temperature magnetic refrigeration applications. The composites obtained from single phase samples (<I>x</I>=0.1–0.2) exhibit the high relative cooling power values in a wide temperature range. From the viewpoint of the refrigerant capacity, the composites formed out of La1−xKxMnO3 will become more useful for magnetic refrigeration applications around room-temperature.</P>

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>In this work, we have investigated the influence of Ag-doping on the magnetic and magnetocaloric effect (MCE) of Ni50-xAgxMn37Sn13 ribbons with <I>x</I> = 1, 2, and 4, which were prepared by a melt-spinning method. With increasing Ag concentration, a systematic decrease in the antiferromagnetic interaction and in the magnetic phase transition temperatures was observed. Analyses of the critical behavior based on the Banerjee criterion and scaling hypothesis for <I>M</I>(<I>H</I>, <I>T</I>) data near the ferromagnetic-paramagnetic transformation prove an increase of Ag favors establishing long-range ferromagnetic interactions in the austenitic phase. The temperature and magnetic field dependences of magnetic entropy change, Δ<I>S</I> m(<I>T</I>, <I>H</I>) were investigated via isothermal magnetization measurements. Interestingly, these samples exhibit a MCE at room-temperature with the Δ<I>S</I> m(<I>T</I>) curves distributed over a quite wide temperature range. To enhance the relative cooling power (RCP) value and to extend the magnetic phase transition region, we have prepared the composites in the form of the layered material samples based on ribbons obtained above. Under Δ<I>H</I> = 10 kOe, the maximum value of Δ<I>S</I> m (denoted as |Δ<I>S</I> max|) at around room-temperature is 1.08 J kg−1 K−1, corresponding to RCP = 51.8 J kg−1, which is about 10% higher than that obtained from a separate sample. Additionally, we also pointed out that the dependences of |Δ<I>S</I> max| on Δ<I>H</I> at around room-temperature for samples obey a power law, |Δ<I>S</I> max| = <I>a</I> × Δ<I>H</I> n, and all the Δ<I>S</I> m(<I>T</I>, <I>H</I>) data obey completely a universal master curve.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> An increase of Ag in Ni1-xAgxMn37Sn13 ribbons favors establishing long-range FM order in the austenitic phase. </LI> <LI> High magnetic entropy change, wide operative temperature range, and high RCP value around room-temperature. </LI> <LI> The composite of Ni1-xAgxMn37Sn13 ribbons exhibits higher RCP value and extends the magnetic phase transition region. </LI> <LI> Field dependence of |Δ<I>S</I> max| can be expressed by the power law. </LI> <LI> All the Δ<I>S</I> m(<I>T, H</I>) data around room temperature are followed a universal master curve. </LI> </UL> </P>
