We established optimum washing and sanitizing conditions for fresh-cut lettuce using sodium hypochlorite to reduce microbial hazards. Reduction of microbial hazards, including total aerobic bacteria, Escherichoa coli, and Staphylococcus aureus at different sodium hypochlorite concentrations (0-500 ppm), immersion times (0-20min), temperatures (0-30℃), and washing times (0-4 min) was evaluated. The optimum washing and sanitizing conditions using sodium hypochlorite for lettuce were determined as immersion at more than 50 ppm for 1min at 20oC and washing twice for 30 sec after dipping. Application of these optimum conditions will improve safety and added value of lettuce as a fresh-cut-food without detrimental effects on sensory characteristics.

본 연구에서는 광촉매 TiO₂/p-25를 POF에 코팅하여 IPA 분해 활성을 고찰한 결과, 코팅 시 용매의 조건은 에탄올에서 IPA의 분해효율이 가장 우수하였고 무기바인더(KR-400), 유기바인더(A-9540) 및 무·유기 복합바인더(GPTMS, TMOS)중에서 유기 바인더인 A-9540을 사용했을 때 효율이 가장 우수한 것으로 나왔다. 유기 바인더는 광분해반응에 의하여 바인더 자체가 분해되고 무기 바인더는 부착성이 떨어졌다. 유·무기 복합 바인더 중에서 광분해 효율이 뛰어난 TMOS를 바인더로 선정하여 TMOS/P-25의 비율을 0.05부터 1로 바꾸어 광분해 실험을 수행한 결과, 바인더로써 TMOS의 첨가는 IPA분해 효율을 낮게 하였다.

본 연구에서 광촉매 TiO₂/P-25를 알루미늄 금속판에 코팅하여 코팅 조건에 따른 IPA 분해 활성을 고찰한 결과, 무기계 바인더인 KR-400, 유무기복합 바인더인 TMOS, 유기계 바인더인 A-9540을 사용하여 코팅한 알루미늄 금속판의 표면상은 모두 깨끗하였다. 부착력은 무기계 바인더를 제외한 바인더에서 우수한 것으로 나왔다. 또한 IPA 분해 효율은 무기계 바인더 < 유·무기 복합 바인더 < 유기계 바인더 순으로 나타났다. 유·무기복합 바인더와 P-25의 비율을 10:10, 8.3:10, 6.6:10, 5:10, 3.3:10, 1.6:10으로 바꾸어 광분해 실험을 수행한 결과, 1.6:10일 때 IPA 분해 효율이 가장 우수하였다. 상용화된 타사(A사, B사) 제품과의 성능 비교 결과, 본 연구에서 사용한 바인더(A-9540): P-25의 비율을 1:6으로 배합하여 코팅한 알루미늄 판의 IPA분해 효율이 가장 우수하였다.
졸-겔법에 의한 안경렌즈의 열경화형 유-무기 하이브리드 코팅

코팅은 플라스틱의 표면의 물성과 렌즈의 광학적 성능을 높이기 위해 필요하다. Allyl diglycol carbonate계열 렌즈 표면의 물성과 광학적 성능을 개선하기 위하여 3-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane(GPTS), methyltrimethoxysilane(MTMS) 및 tetraethyl orthosilicate(TEOS)의 몰 비를 변화시켜 유-무기 하이브리드 재료로 사용하였다. Sol-gel 공정에 의한 flow코팅하여, 140℃에서 4시간 경화하였다. 코팅 렌즈는 투과율, 부착력, 연필경도, 내마모성, 내온수성 및 내약품성을 평가하였고 GPTS, MTMS 및 TEOS의 몰비가 각각 1: 1: 2일 때 가장 우수한 것으로 나타났다.

The effects of nanotexturing and post-etching on the reflection and quantum efficiency properties of diamond wire sawn (DWS) multicrystalline silicon (mc-Si) solar cell have been investigated. The chemical solutions, which are acidic etching solution (HF-HNO₃), metal assisted chemical etching (MAC etch) solutions (AgNO₃-HF-DI, HF-H₂O₂-DI) and post-etching solution (diluted KOH at 80℃), were used for micro- and nano-texturing at the surface of diamond wire sawn (DWS) mc-Si wafer. Experiments were performed with various post-etching time conditions in order to determine the optimized etching condition for solar cell. The reflectance of mc-Si wafer texturing with acidic etching solution showed a very high reflectance value of about 30% (w/o anti-reflection coating), which indicates the insufficient light absorption for solar cell. The formation of nano-texture on the surface of mc-Si contributed to the enhancement of light absorption. Also, post-etching time condition of 240 s was found adequate to the nano-texturing of mc-Si due to its high external quantum efficiency of about 30% at short wavelengths and high short circuit current density (Jsc) of 35.4 A/cm².

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>Tungsten disulphide nanocomposites were prepared in large scale by employing the direct reaction between tungsten nanoparticles and sulphur powders. The nanocomposites include a variety of shapes such as isolated WS<SUB>2</SUB> multi-layered sheets, WS<SUB>2</SUB>-coated WO<SUB>3</SUB> nanoparticles, and enclosed fullerene-like WS<SUB>2</SUB> structures. Pin-on-disc wear tests indicate that the addition of a small amount (5wt%) of these nanoparticles to paraffin decreases significantly the wear loss of the pin. Additives of these WS<SUB>2</SUB>/WO<SUB>3</SUB> nanoparticles possess much better tribological performance than micrometer-sized WS<SUB>2</SUB> powders additives do. The surface topography of wear scar of the pins after wear tests with different additives and different loads were studied by scanning electron microscopy. Small (severe) damage of the pin surface was observed for WS<SUB>2</SUB>/WO<SUB>3</SUB> nanoparticles (WS<SUB>2</SUB> micropowders) additives.</P>

Background/Aims S-isomer (S) pantoprazole is more bioavailable and less dependent on cytochrome 2C19 than is racemic pantoprazole. We aim to evaluate the efficacy and safety of 10 mg S-pantoprazole for treatment of non-erosive reflux disease (NERD). Methods In this phase 3, double-blind, randomized placebo controlled, multicenter study, 174 NERD patients were randomized to one of both treatment groups: 10 mg S-pantoprazole, or placebo once daily for 4 weeks. Symptoms and safety were assessed. The efficacy endpoints were complete relief of symptoms, > 50% improvement of all reflux symptoms and recurrence. Results Eighty-eight patients were assigned to the S-pantoprazole group (25 males, mean 43.7 years old) and 86 to the placebo group (32 males, mean 43.0 years old), and 163 patients were subjected to full Analysis Set. A higher proportion of patients in the S-pantoprazole group had complete symptom relief (42.0 % [34/81] vs 17.1% [14/82], P < 0.001) and > 50% symptom responses (66.0% vs 50.0%, P = 0.010 for heartburn; 64.2% vs 28.0%, P = 0.010 for acid regurgitation; and 51.9% vs 30.5%, P = 0.03 for epigastric discomfort) compared to the placebo group. The factors associated with poor responsiveness to PPI were older age, female, greater body mass index, and severe baseline symptoms. Conclusions Low dose of S-pantoprazole (10 mg) for 4 weeks was more efficacious than placebo in providing reflux symptom relief in patients with NERD, especially acid regurgitation. More doses or longer periods of treatment with S-pantoprazole would be needed to completely eliminate symptoms. (J Neurogastroenterol Motil 2021;27:223-230)
A Case of Idiopathic Central Serous Chorioretinopathy in a 12-year-old Male Treated with Bevacizumab

A 12-year-old male presented with a chief complaint of a 1-month-history of decreased visual acuity in his right eye. The patient had no past history of steroid use or other systemic diseases. On fundus examination, which included fluorescent angiography (FAG) and optical coherence tomography (OCT), the patient was diagnosed with idiopathic central chorioretinopathy, whose clinical course was monitored without any specific treatments. At the time of admission, the best-corrected visual acuity was 0.5 in the right eye and 1.0 in the left eye. On fundoscopy, a serous detachment of 1 disc diameter in size was observed in the posterior pole. According to the FAG and the OCT, serous neurosensory detachment was present. After two months of monitoring the clinical course, the best corrected visual acuity in the right eye was 0.8, and there was improvement of neurosensory retinal detachment. However, OCT detected recurrence after five months, and the corrected visual acuity was decreased to 0.6. Bevacizumab was then injected into the vitreous cavity. Complete resolution of the subretinal fluid resulted eight months later, and the corrected visual acuity improved to 1.0.
