In this paper, we present a design, fabrication and performance test of the novel DoD metal-jet injector for application to the high-density and high-temperature-melting materials. We design the gap adjustable DoD injector for controlling the size, speed and direction of the ejected metal droplets. The effect of design parameters on droplet size was analyzed. Fabricated gap adjustable injector ejects the D.I. water microdroplets whose measured volume is 7.23nl with the 4.8m/sec velocity through the 50㎛-diameter nozzle. Also the injector print the metal microdots, whose diameter is about 600㎛, on the glass at the chamber temperature of 200℃. Consequently, present novel metal-jet injector has a potential to applications for the fabrication of the low-cost fabrication of the electronic devices.

A real object duplication system (RODS), including three dimensional (3D) scanner and solid freeform fabrication system (SFFS), is a device to make three-dimensional objects directly from the drawing or photo data. A Selective Multi-Laser Sintering (SMLS) process designed in this paper is by which computer images received using 3D scanner are built up from polymer powder on building room of large size using dual laser at industrial type SFF system. Using the process can rapidly produce real object duplication components of industrial type such as cylinder, engine block, chassis of automobile, etc. In this paper, the industrial type SFF system using SMLS process is manufactured and the system is satisfied with high precision and high speed processing technique. To research characteristics of each part for theindustrial type SFF system, a structure and thermal analysis and test of each part is carried out. Also, to achievement of high performance for industrial type SFF system, design and fabrication for the structure, heater, nitrogen supply, laser and control part are carried out.

In this study, A special quality analysis and experiment for low power consumption type pneumatic on-off micro valve was performed. And flow characteristics of the micro valve by stroke change was numerically investigated. As a result, it is shown that magnetic force(2.4N) is exerted enough to move poppet with 0.3mm stroke with 0.01 seconds of response time, and that there is no magnetic force emitted by yoke. Under the condition of poppet stroke smaller than about 0.8mm, dynamic pressure acts to poppet wall up to supply pressure level. But, that is decreasing to 40% when poppet stroke is 0.8mm.

A solid freeform fabrication (SFF) system using selective laser sintering (SLS) is currently recognized as a leading process and SLS extends the applications to machinery and automobiles due to the variousmaterials employed. In order to develop a more elaborate and rapid system for fabricating large objects compared to existing SLS, this study employs a new selective dual-laser sintering (SDLS) process. Also, this paper will address development of an SFF system which employs the dual laser system and the unique scanning device. Experiments were performed to evaluate the effect of a scanning path and fabrication parameters on sintering process and to fabricate the various 3D objects using polymer powder.
