마첨가 국수의 개발을 위해 밀가루에 열풍건조마가루와 냉동건조마가루를 각각 2, 5, 10% 첨가하여 건국수를 만들고, 이들의 물리적 성질과 조리성질을 조사하였으며 관능검사를 실시하였다. 밀가루에 마가루를 첨가하면 국수의 폭은 0.5-4.8% 두께는 8.8-20.8% 줄어들었다. 국수의 색은 마가루의 갈변으로 다소 누렇게 변하였으며 첨가량이 클수록 심하였다. 마첨가로 국수의 강도와 휨성은 증가하였으며, 이에 따라 마국수는 밀가루 국수보다 취급이 용이할 것으로 생각된다. 국수의 조리 후 무게증가량과 조리부피는 마첨가량에 따라 별 차이를 보이지 않았으나, 조리손실은 마첨가 국수가 1.21-1.49g/25g으로 밀가루 국수의 1.15g/25g 보다 높았다. 이는 마의 수용성 식이섬유 함량(4.74-4.96%)이 밀가루(2.69%)보다 높기 때문일 것이다. 관능검사 결과, 마가루를 2-5% 첨가한 국수가 5.4-6.4점을 얻어 밀가루 국수의 5점보다 높았다. Dried noodles were prepared by blending wheat flour with 2, 5, 10% hot-air dried Chinese yam powder (HD) and freeze dried Chinese yam powder (FD), respectively. Adding yam powder decreased width and thickness of noodles by 0.5-4.8% and 8.8-20.8% respectively. Color of noodles were darkened with addition of yam powder due to probably enzymatic browning. Adding yam powder increased strength and flexibility of noodles. Weight gain and volume of noodle after cooking were not affected by adding yam powder, but cooking loss was increased from 1.15g/25g for wheat noodle to 1.21-1.47g/25g for yam-added noodles because yam powders contain more soluble dietary fiber(4.74-4.96%) than wheat flour(2.69%). In sensory evaluation, noodles added with 2-5% HD and FD scored 5.4-6.4 point whereas wheat flour noodle was 5.

<P>De-crosslinking of silane-cross-linked polyethylene (S-XLPE) in supercritical methanol was investigated. Changes in gel content and molecular weight with reaction temperature and reaction time were analyzed in a batch reactor, and kinetic parameters were calculated from the experimental data. The reaction time for de-crosslinking shortened as the reaction temperature increased and the complete de-crosslinking of S-XLPE was achieved at 320 °C and 20 min. The de-crosslinking rate of S-XLPE fit well with the first order reaction model. In addition, the molecular weight of de-cross-linked polyethylene (DXPE) decreased further as reaction temperature and reaction time increased when the reaction temperature exceeded 360 °C relative to that of the original polyethylene before being cross-linked. The decreasing molecular weight trend also fit well with the first order reaction model.</P>
졸-겔법에 의한 나노크기 Au 미립자 분산 TiO<sub>2</sub> 박막의 특성

Nano-size Au particle doped $TiO_2$ films were prepared with $Ti(OC_3H_7^i)_4$, polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP), $HAuCl_4$ and $C_3H_7OH$ etc. by sol-gel method. $TiO_2$ gel films were obtained by the dip-coating method on the $SiO_2$ glass substrates, and then heat-treated at $700^{\circ}C$ for 10 min. The thickness of $TiO_2$ films were $0.7\~1.8\;{\mu}m$. It was found that the thickness of films prepared from PVP containing solution was about $2\~8$ times higher values than that of thin films without PVP. The size of Au particles doped in the films were about $350\~750\;nm$. Nano-size Au particle dispersed $TiO_2$ films showed high absorption peak at visible region 450nm, which made them good candidates for non-linear optical materials and photo-catalytic materials. The contact angle of $TiO_2$ film for water was $12.5^{\circ}$, and therefore it is clear that $TiO_2$ films have very high hydrophilic properties and the self-cleaning effects.

To investigate the prognostic factors for the survival of transplanted kidney in patients with end-stage renal failure, 59 cases of renal transplantation from September 1986 to Feburary 1997 in Chungnam National University Hospital were analyzed retrospectively. The results were as follows: 1)The mean age of recipients was 33.8 years and that of doners was 38.9 years. The male to female ratio of recipients was 2.5:1, and that of donors was 1.03:1 2) Living related donore(LRD) were 79.6% and living non-related donors were 20.3%. The HLA-identical donors(ID) in LRD were 18.7% and HLA-haploidentical donors(HID) were 61.0%. In living non-related donors(LNRD), mean matched HLA-AB antigens were 1.56 and mean matched HLA-DR antigens were 0.56. 3) The average 5-year patient survival fate was 94%, and average 5-year graft survival rate was 70%. The 5-year graft survival fate of HLA-ID was 100%, and those HLA-HID and LNR were 70% and 36% respectively. 4) Total 33 episodes of acute rejection were found in 45.8% of transplanted patients. The number of acute rejection episode did not show significant difference between LRD and LNRD(P > 0.05). There was no significant difference in MLC between two groups(p > 0.05). 5) In comparison between the 18 patients who lost their graft function in 5 years and 17 patients who are maintaining graft function for more than 5 years, MLC was significantly lower in patients with functioning graft than of patients with non-functioning graft (p < 0.05). The number of rejection episode was also lower in patients with functioning graft than that of the patients with non-functioning graft(p < 0.05). However, there were no significant difference in recepient and donor age and history of pre-transplantation donor specific transfusion between two groups. With the results above, we can speculate that adequate donor selection according to good matched HLA typing and low MLC is very important for graft survival in renal transplantation. Prevention and treatment of acute rejection in renal transplantation is also na important factor for graft survival.

<P>Polypropylene-layered silicate nanocomposites consisting of three components—pure polypropylene, maleated polypropylene, and organically modified silicate—were prepared by the melt-intercalation method to investigate melt-extensional properties such as melt strength, neck-in test, and orientation behavior. The nanocomposites showed an enhanced tensile modulus, enhanced storage modulus, much enhanced melt tension, and reduced neck-in during the melt processing as compared with neat polymer. The uniaxial drawing induced the silicate surface to align parallel to the sheet surface. The c and a* axes of the polypropylene crystals were bimodally oriented to the flow direction, and the b axes were oriented to the thickness direction. 2D MXene Dispersions and Their Electronic Applications

MXenes, 2D transition metal carbides, nitrides, or carbonitrides, have been attracted in many electronic and optoelectronic applications, due to their high electronic conductivity (~5000 S/cm), hydrophilicity, and solution processability. However, they suffer from poor stability against oxidative degradation and poor dispersion stability in organic environments. This presentation demonstrates a simple and scalable way to prepare Ti3C2Tx MXene dispersions in non-polar organic solvents. The MXene organic dispersions also exhibit strong oxidation resistance and stable long-term storage. Additionally, the stable MXene dispersions provide an opportunity to prepare printable flexible MXene films or electrodes for various flexible electronic applications including EMI shielding, flexible joule heater and LED display.

<P> The purpose of this study was to prepare and characterize poly (ester amine) (PEA)/pGL3 complexes and investigate their transfection efficiency in human nasal epithelial (HNE) cells. Particle size, zeta potential, and gel retardation characteristics of PEA /pGL3 complexes were also measured. After treatment of DNase-I, protection and release assay of PEA/pGL3 complexes were performed. To assess the transfection efficiency and cytotoxicity, measurement of relative luciferase activity and MTS assay were performed. PEA/pGL3 complexes showed effective and stable DNA condensation with the particle sizes below 200 nm, implicating their potential for intracellular delivery. PEA/pGL3 complexes successfully transfected into the HNE cells with higher viability of the cells. These results suggested that, the PEA can be used as an efficient cationic polymeric vehicle which provides a versatile platform for further investigation of structure property relationship along with the controlled degradation, significant low cytotoxicity, and high transfection efficiency of the primary HNE cells.</P>
