Purpose: The safety of online contouring and planning for adaptive radiotherapy is unknown. This study aimed to evaluate the dosimetric difference of the organ-at-risk (OAR) according to the extent of contouring in stereotactic magnetic resonance image-guided adaptive RT (SMART) for pancreatic cancer. Materials and Methods: We reviewed the treatment plan data used for SMART in patients with pancreatic cancer. For the online contouring and planning, OARs within 2 cm from the planning target volume (PTV) in the craniocaudal direction were re-controlled daily at the attending physician's discretion. The entire OARs were re-contoured retrospectively for data analysis. We termed the two contouring methods the Rough OAR and the Full OAR, respectively. The proportion of dose constraint violation and other dosimetric parameters was analyzed. Results: Nineteen patients with 94 fractions of SMART were included in the analysis. The dose constraint was violated in 10.6% and 43.6% of the fractions in Rough OAR and Full OAR methods, respectively (p = 0.075). Patients with a large tumor, a short distance from gross tumor volume (GTV) to OAR, and a tumor in the body or tail were associated with more occult dose constraint violations—large tumor (p = 0.027), short distance from GTV to OAR (p = 0.061), tumor in body or tail (p = 0.054). No dose constraint violation occurred outside 2 cm from the PTV. Conclusion: More occult dose constraint violations can be found by the Full OAR method in patients with pancreatic cancer with some clinical factors in the online re-planning for SMART. Re-contouring all the OARs would be helpful to detect occult dose constraint violations in SMART planning. Since the dosimetric profile of SMART cannot be represented by a single fraction, patient selection for the Full OAR method should be weighted between the clinical usefulness and the time and workforce required.

Although some existing evidence supports the addition of chemotherapy (CT) to radiation therapy (RT) for anaplastic oligodendroglioma treatment, controversy about both the criteria for suitable candidates and the optimal treatment schedule remains. We reviewed data from 376 newly diagnosed anaplastic oliogodendroglial tumor patients from nine Korean institutes were reviewed from 2000 to 2010. Total tumor removal was performed in 146 patients. More than 85??% of the entire patients received postoperative RT, and 59??% received CT. Approximately 50??% (n??=??189) received CT in addition to RT and 9??% (n??=??32) received CT only. A multivariate analysis revealed that younger age, frontal lobe location of the tumor, gross total removal, 1p/19q codeletion, and initial RT were associated with longer progression-free and overall survival rates. No difference was observed in outcomes from the treatment that included either temozolomide or PCV (procarbazine, lomustine, and vincristine) in addition to RT regardless of the 1p/19q deletion status. A clear improvement in progression-free and overall survival was observed for RT and combined CT/RT in compared with CT only. Postoperative RT appears to improve survival for entire group thus total removal and 1p/19q codeletion may not be sufficient criteria to omit RT as a treatment option. These results suggest that RT should continue to be offered as the standard treatment option for patients with anaplastic oligodendroglial tumors.

Giant cell tumor of tendon sheath is a benign histiocytic proliferation of the articular and peritendinous synovial tissue and manifests as a painless, firm, smooth, subcutaneous mass which occurrs predominantly on the hand where it is typically located adjacent to the interphalangeal joints of the hands, especially the terminal interphalangeal joints. Histologically, it is characterized by the presence of multinucleated giant cells. We herein report a case of giant cell tumor of tendon sheath located on the fingertip with the involvement of overlying skin, which shows rare location and unusual clinical manifestation.

Korea has been managed HACCP with food and livestock products separately, but it was incorporated into food and livestock product safety management certification standard in 2015. Currently, the notification is unified, but food sanitation act and the livestock products sanitary control act are not unified. These differences are leading to complaints from food and livestock corporation. In this review, the food sanitation act, enforcement regulations of the food sanitation act, the livestock products sanitary control act and enforcement regulations of the livestock products sanitary control act were compared and analyzed to identify the part which requires unification. As a result of the survey, the thirteen clauses were proposed to unify in the food sanitation act and the livestock products sanitary control act. The nineteen clauses were proposed to unify in enforcement regulations of the food sanitation act and enforcement regulations of the livestock products sanitary control act.
