해상운송 환경규제에 따른 기술개발이 곡물푸드마일에 미치는 영향 분석

해상운송에서 배출되는 황산화물(SOx)은 전체 운송부문 배출량의 약 60%로 매우 높은 비중을 차지하고 있으며, 황산화물은 해안지역의 대기오염뿐만 아니라, 산성비, 미세오염물질에 따른 인체질환 등 다양한 환경범주에 대한 심각한 영향을 미친다. 국제해사기구(International Maritime Organization, IMO)는 해상운송에서 발생하는 황산화물 배출량을 감소시키기 위해 2020년부터 선박에 사용되는 연료의 황 함유량을 기존의 3.5%에서 0.5% 이하로 규제하였다. 최근 많은 연구에서는 IMO의 규제에 따른 선박의 연료전환, 탈황시설 설비 등 기술적 대안을 제시하고 그에 따른 효율을 분석하고 있다. 하지만 대부분의 연구가 경제적 측면의 효율만을 제시하고 있어, 환경적 관점에서의 효율을 함께 고려할 수 있도록 환경개선효과를 평가한 연구는 매우 제한적 이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 해상운송 환경규제에 따른 기술적 대안에 따른 환경저감효과를 국내에 수입되는 주요 곡물의 무역과정을 대상으로 평가해 보았다. 이를 위해 IMO의 ‘연료 내황 함유량 규제’가 기존의 벙커C유를 연료로 사용하는 선박의 환경영향을 개선하는 데에 어떠한 영향을 주는지 살펴보고, 해상운송수단이 탈황장치나 LNG 연료를 기반으로 한 선박으로 전환될 경우의 예상되는 저감효과를 분석하였다. 기술적 대안에 따른 해상운송과정의 환경영향을 평가하기 위해 전과정환경영향평가(life-cycle assessment, LCA) 방법을 활용하여 다양한 환경범주에서 운송수단에 따른 단위 무게·거리 당 발생하는 환경영향을 분석하였다. 해상운송수단의 환경영향범주는 LCIA TRACI에서 제시하는 다양한 환경영향범주 가운데 해상무역과정에서 발생하는 황산화물과 온실 가스에 주된 영향을 받는 기후변화(greenhouse gases, GHG), 미세먼지(particulate matters, PM10), 산성화(acidification)로 선정하였다. 전과정평가를 위한 선박의 모델별 인벤토리는 Ecoinvent 데이터베이스에 구축된 데이터셋을 활용하였으며. 선박의 모델은 사용연료의 고려와 함께 곡물운송에 주로 활용되는 해상운송 모델을 선정하였다. 본 연구를 통해 분석된 결과는 향후 해상운송의 환경규제에 따른 국제교역을 위한 해상운송과정에서 발생되는 다양한 범주의 환경영향에 대한 개선효과를 제시하고, 가장 친환경적인 기술적 대안 선택과 적용에 효과적으로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.
Distal End Force Estimation of Tendon-sheath Mechanism Using a Spring Sheath

Tendon-sheath mechanism (TSM) is often used as a power transmission system in many applications, such as rehabilitation, wearables, and endoscopic surgery robots. It comprises a tendon for transmitting the power and a sheath to guide the tendon. The tendon passes through a narrow and harsh pathway to actuate an end-effector. Consequently, TSM exhibits highly nonlinear force transmission characteristics, resulting in poor control performance. Additionally, attaching and using a force feedback sensor at its distal end is virtually impossible in most applications owing to space constraints and safety concerns. To address these drawbacks, this study proposes a novel sensing spring wire to estimate the distal end force in TSM. Unlike existing methods, the proposed technique does not require complex hyperparameters or modeling and uses only a mechanical part to predict the force. The sensing wire is composed of the sheath. The biocompatibility, simple structure, and small size of the spring sheath facilitate convenient interaction with the existing TSM. Additionally, the spring sheath exhibits the characteristics of a spring, which ensures a linear relationship between the displacement and force. The results indicate that after calibrating the spring sensor, the distal end force can be easily determined using the proximal force despite the absence of an electrical sensor. In situations where the friction is different for each shape, when the force at the distal end was estimated using only the force at the proximal end measured by the sensor, the average RMSE was 75.91mN and the maximum error was 176.52mN. The proposed method verifies that the proximal tension and displacement data are sufficient to estimate the force.
A Novel Retractable Robotic Device for Colorectal Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection

Background/Aims: Appropriate tissue tension and clear visibility of the dissection area using traction are essential for effective and safe endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD). In this study, we developed a retractable robot-assisted traction device and evaluated its performance in colorectal ESD. Methods: An experienced endoscopist performed ESD 18 times on an ex vivo porcine colon using the robot and 18 times using the conventional method. The outcome measures were procedure time, dissection speed, procedure-related adverse events, and blind dissection rate. Results: Thirty-six colonic lesions were resected from ex vivo porcine colon samples. The total procedure time was significantly shorter in robot-assisted ESD (RESD) than in conventional ESD (CESD) (20.1±4.1 minutes vs 34.3±8.3 minutes, p<0.05). The submucosal dissection speed was significantly faster in the RESD group than in the CESD group (36.8±9.2 mm<sup>2</sup>/min vs 18.1±4.7 mm<sup>2</sup>/min, p<0.05). The blind dissection rate was also significantly lower in the RESD group (12.8%±3.4% vs 35.1%±3.9%, p<0.05). In an in vivo porcine feasibility study, the robotic device was attached to a colonoscope and successfully inserted into the proximal colon without damaging the colonic wall, and ESD was successfully performed. Conclusions: The dissection speed and safety profile improved significantly with the retractable RESD. Thus, our robotic device has the potential to provide simple, effective, and safe multidirectional traction during colonic ESD. (Gut Liver 2024;18:677-685)

Growth arrest lines appear as dense sclerotic lines parallel to the growth plate of long bones on radiography. We describe the case of a 9-year-old female with growth arrest lines initially masquerading as lymphoma involvement on $^{99m}Tc-MDP$ bone scintigraphy who had been treated with chemotherapy for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma about 3 years previously. Subsequent regional bone SPECT/CT clearly diagnosed the growth arrest lines, and retrograde review of previous bone scintigraphy demonstrated line migration in this patient. Growth arrest lines should be considered a possible diagnosis on bone scintigraphy, especially in the surveillance of children who have experienced severe childhood infections, malnutrition, immobilization, or treatment with immunosuppressive or chemotherapeutic drugs that may inhibit bone growth.
Various Blue Emitting Materials Based on Pyrene Derivatives for Organic Light-Emitting Diodes.

<P>We designed and synthesized two pyrene derivatives: 1,6-di-1-naphthalenyl-pyrene (1) 1,6-Bis(10- phenyl-9-anthracenyl)-pyrene (2). Two OLED devices were fabricated in the following sequence: ITO (180 nm)/4,4'-bis(N-(1-naphthyl)-N-phenylamino)bipheny (NPB) (50 nm)/Blue materials 1 and 2 (40 nm)/Tris(8-hydroxyquinolinato)aluminium (Alq3) (15 nm)/lithium quinolate (Liq) (2.0 nm)/Al (100 nm). Two devices showed efficient blue emissions. Particularly, a device using 2 as emitting material showed blue EL properties with luminous efficiencies of 3.19 cd/A, power efficiencies of 1.54 lm/W, quantum efficiency of 2.42% at 500 cd/m2 and CIEx,y coordinates of (0.19, 0.16) at 7 V.</P>
Large Unilamellar Phospholipid Vesicles as a Model Substrate for Phospholipase D

The hydrolytic susceptibility of large unilamellar vesicle (LUV) toward cabbage phospholipase D (PLD) was studied. The activity of PLD was determined by pH stat titration method. Using phosphatidylcholine LUV as substrate a pH optimum of 6.96 was observed. For maximal activity the optimal temperature of $31^{\circ}C$ and 10 mM of Ca2+ were required. The apparent Km value estimated was 2.5 mM. The hydrolytic activity of PLD toward PC LUV was somewhat high despite the absence of activator in assay system and this high susceptibility of PC LUV may be attributed to the structural properties of LUV. The effect of amphiphatic substances such as dicetyl phosphate and phosphatidic acid on the enzyme activity were also examined in mixed LUVs.
