Conception and Performance Analysis of Efficient CDMA-Based Full-Duplex Anti-collision Scheme

        Xiaohua Cao,Tiffany Li 한국전자통신연구원 2015 ETRI Journal Vol.37 No.5

Ultra-high-frequency radio-frequency identification (UHF RFID) is widely applied in different industries. The Frame Slotted ALOHA in EPC C1G2 suffers severe collisions that limit the efficiency of tag recognition. An efficient full-duplex anti-collision scheme is proposed to reduce the rate of collision by coordinating the transmitting process of CDMA UWB uplink and UHF downlink. The relevant mathematical models are built to analyze the performance of the proposed scheme. Through simulation, some important findings are gained. The maximum number of identified tags in one slot is g/e (g is the number of PN codes and e is Euler’s constant) when the number of tags is equal to mg (m is the number of slots). Unlike the Frame Slotted ALOHA, even if the frame size is small and the number of tags is large, there aren’t too many collisions if the number of PN codes is large enough. Our approach with 7-bit Gold codes, 15-bit Gold codes, or 31-bit Gold codes operates 1.4 times, 1.7 times, or 3 times faster than the CDMA Slotted ALOHA, respectively, and 14.5 times, 16.2 times, or 18.5 times faster than the EPC C1 G2 system, respectively. More than 2,000 tags can be processed within 300 ms in our approach.

Brain Imaging Study on the Pathogenesis of Depression & Therapeutic Effect of Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors

        Meng Qi,Zhang Aixia,Cao Xiaohua,Sun Ning,Li Xinrong,Zhang YunQiao,Wang Yanfang 대한신경정신의학회 2020 PSYCHIATRY INVESTIGATION Vol.17 No.7

Objective Predefining the most effective treatment for patients with depressive disorders remains a problem. We will examine the differential brain regions of gray matter (GM) in major depressive disorder (MDD) patients and the relationship between changes in their volume and the efficacy of early antidepressant treatment using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).Methods 159 never-medicated patients with first-episode MDD and 53 normal control subjects (NCs) were enrolled. The brains were scanned by MRI and measured with the 17-item Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAMD-17) at baseline and after 2 weeks of treatment with selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI)s, and the non-responder group and responder group were obtained. The patients were analyzed by voxel-based morphological (VBM) and SPSS software. Receiver operator characteristics (ROC) analysis was performed for the difference between the responder group and the non-responder group in the differential brain regions, and Pearson correlations were computed between volume size and HAMD score reduction rate. Results Smaller GM volume of the right superior temporal gyrus (STG), and the orbital parts of the right medial frontal gyrus and right inferior frontal gyrus were observed in MDD versus the NCs. The non-responder group demonstrated a significant volume reduction at the right STG compared with the responders, but no corresponding change in orbital part of right medial frontal gyrus and right inferior frontal gyrus. ROC analysis showed that Accuracy=71.2%. There was a positive correlation between the STG gray matter volume and the HAMD-17 score reduction rate (r=0.347, p=0.002).Conclusion The study results confirmed the local changes in brain structure in MDD and may initially predict the early treatment response produced by SSRIs as antidepressants.

cDNA Cloning and Expression Analysis of a Novel Human F-Box Only Protein

        Haipeng Cheng,Yushu Ma,Xiaohua Ni,Min Jiang,Lingchen Guo,Wei Jin,Weiwen Xu,Gentao Cao,Chaoneng Ji,Kang Ying,Shaohua Gu,Yuhong Ma,Yi Xie,Yumun Mao 한국분자세포생물학회 2002 Molecules and cells Vol.14 No.1

F-box proteins are an expanding family of eukaryotic proteins that are characterized by an approximately 40 amino acid motif. Some F-box proteins are critical for the controlled degradation of cellular regulatory proteins. During a large-scale sequencing analysis of a human fetal brain cDNA library, we isolated a cDNA clone that encodes a novel F-box protein. It showed a 90.0% identity with the previously isolated mouse F-box protein16 at the amino acid level. Northern blot analysis showed no detectable expression, while re-verse transcription-polymerase chain reaction analysis indicated that FBXO16 was expressed in the heart, spleen, and colon. By mapping, we localized the FBXO16 gene to the human chromosome 8p12. The FBXO16 gene consisted of 9 exons that spanned 67,816 bp of human genomic DNA.
