As semiconductor device architecture develops, from planar field-effect transistors (FET) to FinFET and gate-all-around (GAA), there is an increased need to measure 3D structure sidewalls precisely. Here, we present a 3-Dimensional Atomic Force Microscope (3D-AFM), a powerful 3D metrology tool to measure the sidewall roughness (SWR) of vertical and undercut structures. First, we measured three different dies repeatedly to calculate reproducibility in die level. Reproducible results were derived with a relative standard deviation under 2%. Second, we measured 13 different dies, including the center and edge of the wafer, to analyze SWR distribution in wafer level and reliable results were measured. All analysis was performed using a novel algorithm, including auto flattening, sidewall detection, and SWR calculation. In addition, SWR automatic analysis software was implemented to reduce analysis time and to provide standard analysis. The results suggest that our 3D-AFM, based on the tilted Z scanner, will enable an advanced methodology for automated 3D measurement and analysis.

Recently, AFM with suitable tips is being used for nano fabrication/nano machining purposes. In this paper Acoustic emission(AE) was introduced to monitor the nano machining of brittle materials (silicons) using AFM. In the experiments, AE responses were sampled, as the tip load was linearly increased (ramped load), to investigate the machining characteristics. By analysing the experimental results, it can be concluded that measured AE energy is sensitive to changes in the mechanism of material removal including the ductile-brittle transition during the nano machining. The critical depth of cut value for the transition is evaluated and discussed.

Run to Run 제어 기법을 이용한 자기연마 공정 관리

In order to optimize the polishing process, Run to Run control scheme has been applied to the micro mold polishing in this study. Also, to fully understand the effect of parameters on the surface roughness a design of experiment is performed. By linear approximation of main factors such as gap and rotational speed of micro quill, EWMA (Exponential Weighted Moving Average) gradual mode controller is adopted as a optimizing tool. Consequently, the process converged quickly at a target value of surface roughness Ra 10nm and Rmax 50nm, and was hardly affected by unwanted process noises like initial surface quality and wear of magnetic abrasives.

The endemicity of zoonotic trematode metacercariae (ZTM) was investigated with total 871 freshwater fishes (19 species) from Deokcheon-gang (a branch stream of Gyeongho-gang) in Sancheong-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do, Korea for 3 years (2018-2020). All fishes were examined with the artificial digestion method. The metacercariae of Clonorchis sinensis (CsMc) were detected in 233 (36.3%) out of 642 fish in 11 positive fish species (PFS), and their infection intensity was 27 per fish infected (PFI). Especially, in index fish, Puntungia herzi, of CsMc infection, prevalence was 64.2% and infection intensity was 37 PFI. Metagonimus spp. metacercariae (MsMc) were found in 760 (87.5%) out of 869 fish in 18 PFS and their infection intensity was 228 PFI. In sweet smelt, Plecoglossus altivelis, the prevalence of MsMc was 97.6% and their infection intensity was 3,570 PFI. Centrocestus armatus metacercariae were detected in 209 (29.4%) out of 710 fish in 8 PFS and their infection intensity was 1,361 PFI. Echinostoma spp. metacercariae were found in 293 (42.6%) out of 688 fish in 15 PFS and their infection intensity was 5 PFI. Metacercariae of Clinostomum complanatum and Metorchis orientalis were also detected in 2.7% and 21.2% fish in 4 PFS and their infection intensities were 3.1 and 3.4 PFI respectively. By the present study, it was confirmed that some species of ZTM including CsMc and MsMc are more or less prevalent in fishes from Deokcheon-gang in Sancheong-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do, Korea.

<P>A complementary DNA (cDNA) encoding a glucose transporter of Clonorchis sinensis (CsGLUT) was isolated from the adult C. sinensis cDNA library. The open reading frame of CsGLUT cDNA consists of 1653 base pairs that encode a 550-amino acid residue protein. Hydropathy analysis suggested that CsGLUT possess 12 putative membrane-spanning domains. The Northern blot analysis result using poly(A)(+)RNA showed a strong band at similar to 2.1 kb for CsGLUT. When expressed in Xenopus oocytes, CsGLUT mediated the transport of radiolabeled deoxy-D-glucose in a time-dependent but sodium-independent manner. Concentration-dependency results showed saturable kinetics and followed the Michaelis-Menten equation. Nonlinear regression analyses yielded a Km value of 588.5 +/- 53.0 mu M and a Vmax value of 1500.0 +/- 67.5 pmol/oocyte/30 min for [1,2-H-3]2-deoxy-D-glucose. No trans-uptakes of bile acid (taurocholic acid), amino acids (tryptophan and arginine), or p-aminohippuric acid were observed. CsGLUT-mediated transport of deoxyglucose was significantly and concentration-dependently inhibited by radio-unlabeled deoxyglucose and D-glucose. 3-O-Methylglucose at 10 and 100 mu M inhibited deoxyglucose uptake by similar to 50 % without concentration dependence. No inhibitory effects by galactose, mannose, and fructose were observed. This work may contribute to the molecular biological study of carbohydrate metabolism and new drug development of C. sinensis.</P>

Interspecific crosses between three peanut cultivars(Arachis hypogaea) having different plant type, and four wild species, Arachis monticola, Arachis correntina, Arachis applisippla, Arachis rigonii were made by gibberellin(GA₃) treatment and the GA₃ effect on the interspecific crossability and growth of pollen tube in pistil was investigated. Pollen germination on the stigma and penetration of the pollen tubes into the style were increased by GA₃ treatment on the flower base. The GA₃ treatment increased pegging and pod formation up to 47% and 1.6% higher than those of control, respectively. Interspecific-crossability was varied with the combination of cultivar and wild species. Combination of Shipung-type variety Daekwangtangkong×wild species and Spanish-type variety Jinpungtangkong×wild species showed about 2% higher crossability than those of Virginia type variety Namdaetangkong×wild species. Arachis monticola among wild species showed the highest crossability with peanut cultivars, while Arachis correntina did the lowest. This result suggested that interspecific crossbility become higher in the cross between autoplyploids rather than those between allopolyploids.
