Background/Aims: Assessment of quality of magnetic resonance enterography (MRE) in small bowel Crohn’s disease (CD) activity evaluation has received little attention. We assessed the impact of bowel distention and motion artifact on MRE activity indices in ileal CD. Methods: A cohort of patients who underwent contemporaneous MRE and colonoscopy for ileal CD assessment between 2014 and 2021 at 2 centers were audited. An abdominal radiologist blinded to clinical data reviewed each MRE, graded bowel distention and motion artifact upon a pre-specified 3-point scale and calculated the original magnetic resonance index of activity (MaRIA) and simplified MaRIA (sMaRIA), London index and CD MRE index (CDMI). Ileal endoscopic activity was graded via the Simplified Endoscopy Score for CD (SES-CD). The performance of MRE indices in discriminating active disease (SES-CD ≥ 3) stratified by MRE quality was measured by receiver operator characteristic analyses. Results: One hundred and thirty-seven patients had MRE and colonoscopy within a median of 16 days (range, 0-30 days) with 63 (46%) exhibiting active disease (SES-CD ≥ 3). Forty-four MREs (32%) were deemed low quality due to motion artifact and/or moderate to poor distention. Low-quality MREs demonstrated reduced discriminative performance between ileal SES-CD ≥ 3 and MRE indices (MaRIA 0.838 vs. 0.634, sMaRIA 0.834 vs. 0.527, CDMI 0.850 vs. 0.595, London 0.748 vs. 0.511, P< 0.05 for all). Individually the presence of any motion artifact markedly impacted the discriminative performance (e.g., sMaRIA area under the curve 0.544 vs. 0.814, P< 0.05). Conclusions: Image quality parameters can significantly impact MRE disease activity interpretation. Quality metrics should be reported, enabling cautious interpretation in lower-quality studies. Purpose: A safe and efficacious antiplatelet drug is needed for patients with clopidogrel resistance who undergo neuroendovascular procedures. Ticagrelor is a new reversibly binding, oral, direct-acting P2Y receptor antagonist with no known resistance. We describe our clinical experience using ticagrelor for neuroendovascular procedures in Indian patients with clopidogrel resistance at the NH Institute of Neurosciences, Narayana Health City, Bangalore. Materials and Methods: We retrospectively reviewed our endovascular procedure database for all patients with predefined clopidogrel resistance. Clopidogrel resistance was defined as P2Y12 inhibition <40%. Patients were administered ticagrelor along with aspirin prior to the procedure. Results: Of 127 patients, 32 (25%) were non-responders to clopidogrel (22 [69%] males, 10 [31%] females; median age, 54 years [range, 20–75]). All patients were treated with a 180-mg loading dose of ticagrelor, followed by 90 mg twice daily. Twenty patients (63%) underwent endovascular intervention for intracranial aneurysm, two (6%) for dissecting aneurysms, nine (28%) for stenotic lesions, and one (3%) for carotico-cavernous fistula. No patient experienced any adverse effects related to the use of Ticagrelor in the postoperative period. Conclusion: Ticagrelor is an effective alternative to clopidogrel for use in conjunction with aspirin in patients with clopidogrel resistance. None of our patients had adverse effects from ticagrelor. Drug cost, twice-daily dosing, and risk of faster platelet aggregation activation after discontinuation should be taken into consideration prior to its use in such patients.

In this paper, we introduce new classes of post-quantum or (p, q)-starlike and convex functions with respect to symmetric points associated with a cardiod-shaped domain. We obtain (p, q)-Fekete-Szeg¨o inequalities for functions in these classes. We also obtain estimates of initial (p, q)-logarithmic coefficients. In addition, we get q-Bieberbachde-Branges type inequalities for the special case of our classes when p = 1. Moreover, we also discuss some special cases of the obtained results.

We introduce a new subclass of q-bi-univalent functions of complex order related to shell-like curves connected with the Fibonacci numbers. We obtain the coefficient estimates and Fekete-Szegö inequalities for the functions belonging to this class. Relevant connections with various other known classes have been illustrated.

<P>Titanium(IV) complexes of the type [(acac)2Ti(O-G-O] and [(acac)2Ti(OCH2CH2SH)2] {where G = (CH2)2, CH2CH(CH3), CH2CH(C2H5), CH(CH3)CH(CH3) have been synthesized in high yield by the interaction of the precursor [(acac)2Ti( OR)2] {where R = Pri , Et} with a variety of glycols and thioglycols in 1:1 and 1:2 molar ratios in refluxing benzene under anhydrous condition yield heteroleptic derivatives. On the basis of physico-chemical analyses, a cis-octahedral environment around Ti (IV) is proposed.</P>
