NEW LAPLACE TRANSFORMS FOR THE GENERALIZED HYPERGEOMETRIC FUNCTION 2F2
KIM, YONG SUP,RATHIE, ARJUN K.,LEE, CHANG HYUN The Honam Mathematical Society 2015 호남수학학술지 Vol.37 No.2
This paper is in continuation of the paper very recently published [New Laplace transforms of Kummer's confluent hypergeometric functions, Math. Comp. Modelling, 55 (2012), 1068-1071]. In this paper, our main objective is to show one can obtain so far unknown Laplace transforms of three rather general cases of generalized hypergeometric function $_2F_2(x)$ by employing generalized Watson's, Dixon's and Whipple's summation theorems for the series $_3F_2$ obtained earlier in a series of three research papers by Lavoie et al. [5, 6, 7]. The results established in this paper may be useful in theoretical physics, engineering and mathematics.
SOME RELATIONS BETWEEN ζ(2n + 1) AND ζ(2n + 1, α) FOR SPECIAL VALUES OF α
Lim, Sung-Geun The Honam Mathematical Society 2017 호남수학학술지 Vol.39 No.4
Hurwitz zeta function occurs in various parts of mathematics. In particular, it plays an important role in some area of number theory. In this paper, using a certain transformation formula, we find some identities of relations between ${\zeta}(2n+1)$ and ${\zeta}(2n+1,{\alpha})$ for special values of ${\alpha}$.
A NOTE ON THE OBESITY AS AN EPIDEMIC
Oh, Chunyoung The Honam Mathematical Society 2014 호남수학학술지 Vol.36 No.1
We present a theoretical study that assesses the persistence of obesity. The basic reproductive number for the model is computed, and its sensitivity on some parameter values is explored. This may be of interest to public health authorities.
PROBABILITY EDUCATION FOR PREPARATION OF MATHEMATICS TEACHERS USING PARADOXES
Lee, Sang-Gone The Honam Mathematical Society 2008 호남수학학술지 Vol.30 No.2
Mathematical paradoxes may arise when computations give unexpected results. We use three paradoxes to illustrate how they work in the basic probability theory. In the process of resolving the paradoxes, we expect that student-teachers can pedagogically gain valuable experience in regards to sharpening their mathematical knowledge and critical reasoning.
DYNAMIC MODEL PREDICTING OVERWEIGHT AND OBESITY IN KOREAN ADOLESCENTS
Oh, Chunyoung The Honam Mathematical Society 2018 호남수학학술지 Vol.40 No.4
Adolescent obesity has a high risk of developing into adult obesity and may cause many psychological problems. This paper aims at giving a mathematical model for the obesity of Korean adolescents and predicting how much the prevalence of obesity among adolescents will increase using real data. We estimate that the obesity rate of boys will increase until about 28 ~ 29% in 2025.
ON SUBMANIFOLDS OF ALMOST PSEUDO SYMMETRIC MANIFOLDS
Kim, Jaeman The Honam Mathematical Society 2018 호남수학학술지 Vol.40 No.3
The object of the present paper is to study a decomposable $(APS)_n$ and hypersurfaces of $(APS)_n$. Also, the existence of a decomposable $(APS)_n$ is ensured by a proper example.
RELATIVE RECIPROCAL VARIATIONAL INEQUALITIES
Khan, Awais Gul,Noor, Muhammad Aslam,Pervez, Amjad,Noor, Khalida Inayat The Honam Mathematical Society 2018 호남수학학술지 Vol.40 No.3
In this paper, we introduce a new class of reciprocal convex set which is called as relative reciprocal convex set. We establish a necessary and sufficient condition for the minimum of the differentiable relative reciprocal convex function. This condition can be viewed as a new class of variational inequality which is called relative reciprocal variational inequality. Using the auxiliary principle technique we discuss the existence criteria for the solution of relative reciprocal variational inequality. Some special cases which are naturally included in our main results are also discussed.
TRANS-SASAKIAN MANIFOLDS WITH RESPECT TO GENERALIZED TANAKA-WEBSTER CONNECTION
Kazan, Ahmet,Karadag, H.Bayram The Honam Mathematical Society 2018 호남수학학술지 Vol.40 No.3
In this study, we use the generalized Tanaka-Webster connection on a trans-Sasakian manifold of type (${\alpha},{\beta}$) and obtain the curvature tensors of a trans-Sasakian manifold with respect to this connection. Also, we investigate some special curvature conditions of a trans-Sasakian manifold with respect to generalized Tanaka-Webster connection and finally, give an example for trans-Sasakian manifolds.
LATTICE ORDERED FUZZY SOFT GROUPS
Mahmood, Tahir,Shah, Naveed Ahmad The Honam Mathematical Society 2018 호남수학학술지 Vol.40 No.3
In several fields the soft set theory has a very vast range uses and applications. A soft group is a proper family of subgroups and a fuzzy soft group is a proper family of fuzzy subgroups. Here in this paper the concept of lattice ordered fuzzy soft groups is introduced. Also its some properties are studied and discussed. In addition, the defintion of lattice order fuzzy soft right (left) cosets and lattice order soft product of fuzzy soft subgroups and some related results are discussed to clear these ideas.
A GENERALIZATION OF THE EXPONENTIAL INTEGRAL AND SOME ASSOCIATED INEQUALITIES
Nantomah, Kwara,Merovci, Faton,Nasiru, Suleman The Honam Mathematical Society 2017 호남수학학술지 Vol.39 No.1
In this paper, a generalization of the exponential integral is given. As a consequence, several inequalities involving the generalized function are derived. Among other analytical techniques, the procedure utilizes the $H{\ddot{o}}lder^{\prime}s$ and Minkowskis inequalities for integrals.
