SOME RELATIONS BETWEEN ζ(2n + 1) AND ζ(2n + 1, α) FOR SPECIAL VALUES OF α
Lim, Sung-Geun The Honam Mathematical Society 2017 호남수학학술지 Vol.39 No.4
Hurwitz zeta function occurs in various parts of mathematics. In particular, it plays an important role in some area of number theory. In this paper, using a certain transformation formula, we find some identities of relations between ${\zeta}(2n+1)$ and ${\zeta}(2n+1,{\alpha})$ for special values of ${\alpha}$.
NEW LAPLACE TRANSFORMS FOR THE GENERALIZED HYPERGEOMETRIC FUNCTION 2F2
KIM, YONG SUP,RATHIE, ARJUN K.,LEE, CHANG HYUN The Honam Mathematical Society 2015 호남수학학술지 Vol.37 No.2
This paper is in continuation of the paper very recently published [New Laplace transforms of Kummer's confluent hypergeometric functions, Math. Comp. Modelling, 55 (2012), 1068-1071]. In this paper, our main objective is to show one can obtain so far unknown Laplace transforms of three rather general cases of generalized hypergeometric function $_2F_2(x)$ by employing generalized Watson's, Dixon's and Whipple's summation theorems for the series $_3F_2$ obtained earlier in a series of three research papers by Lavoie et al. [5, 6, 7]. The results established in this paper may be useful in theoretical physics, engineering and mathematics.
DYNAMIC MODEL PREDICTING OVERWEIGHT AND OBESITY IN KOREAN ADOLESCENTS
Oh, Chunyoung The Honam Mathematical Society 2018 호남수학학술지 Vol.40 No.4
Adolescent obesity has a high risk of developing into adult obesity and may cause many psychological problems. This paper aims at giving a mathematical model for the obesity of Korean adolescents and predicting how much the prevalence of obesity among adolescents will increase using real data. We estimate that the obesity rate of boys will increase until about 28 ~ 29% in 2025.
A NOTE ON THE OBESITY AS AN EPIDEMIC
Oh, Chunyoung The Honam Mathematical Society 2014 호남수학학술지 Vol.36 No.1
We present a theoretical study that assesses the persistence of obesity. The basic reproductive number for the model is computed, and its sensitivity on some parameter values is explored. This may be of interest to public health authorities.
PROBABILITY EDUCATION FOR PREPARATION OF MATHEMATICS TEACHERS USING PARADOXES
Lee, Sang-Gone The Honam Mathematical Society 2008 호남수학학술지 Vol.30 No.2
Mathematical paradoxes may arise when computations give unexpected results. We use three paradoxes to illustrate how they work in the basic probability theory. In the process of resolving the paradoxes, we expect that student-teachers can pedagogically gain valuable experience in regards to sharpening their mathematical knowledge and critical reasoning.
INTERVAL-VALUED FUZZY SUBGROUPS AND RINGS
Kang, Hee-Won,Hur, Kul The Honam Mathematical Society 2010 호남수학학술지 Vol.32 No.4
We introduce the concepts of interval-valued fuzzy sub-groups [resp. normal subgroups, rings and ideals] and investigate some of it's properties.
SOME DECOMPOSITION FORMULAS ASSOCIATED WITH THE SARAN FUNCTION FE
Kim, Yong-Sup,Hasanov, Anvar,Lee, Chang-Hyun The Honam Mathematical Society 2010 호남수학학술지 Vol.32 No.4
With the help of some techniques based upon certain inverse pairs of symbolic operators initiated by Burchnall-Chaundy, the authors investigate decomposition formulas associated with Saran's function $F_E$ in three variables. Many operator identities involving these pairs of symbolic operators are first constructed for this purpose. By employing their decomposition formulas, we also present a new group of integral representations for the Saran function $F_E$.
QUASI GENERALIZED OPEN SETS AND QUASI GENERALIZED CONTINUITY ON BIGENERALIZED TOPOLOGICAL SPACES
Min, Won-Keun,Kim, Young-Key The Honam Mathematical Society 2010 호남수학학술지 Vol.32 No.4
We introduce the notions of bigeneralized topological spaces and quasi generalized open sets, and study some basic properties for the sets. We also introduce the notion of quasi generalized continuity on bigeneralized topological spaces, and investigate characterizations for the continuity.
DEGREE OF APPROXIMATION TO A SMOOTH FUNCTION BY GENERALIZED TRANSLATION NETWORKS
HAHM, NAHMWOO,YANG, MEEHYEA,HONG, BUM IL The Honam Mathematical Society 2005 호남수학학술지 Vol.27 No.2
We obtain the approximation order to a smooth function on a compact subset of $\mathbb{R}$ by generalized translation networks. In our study, the activation function is infinitely many times continuously differentiable function but it does not have special properties around ${\infty}$ and $-{\infty}$ like a sigmoidal activation function. Using the Jackson's Theorem, we get the approximation order. Especially, we obtain the approximation order by a neural network with a fixed threshold.
DEDUCTIVE SYSTEMS IN COMMUTATIVE PRE-LOGICS
Kim, Young-Hie,Ahn, Sun-Shin The Honam Mathematical Society 2010 호남수학학술지 Vol.32 No.4
The notions of commutative pre-logics and terminal sections are introduced. Characterizations of a commutative prelogic are provided. Properties of deductive systems in pre-logics which are upper semilattices are considered.
