The Risk Factors for Acute Pancreatitis after Endoscopic Ultrasound Guided Biopsy

Background/Aims: The risk of developing pancreatitis induced by endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration (EUS FNA) is relatively small. However, patients undergoing sampling through the normal pancreatic parenchyma or the pancreatic duct may have a higher rate of pancreatitis. Here, we determine the factors associated with increased risk of acute pancreatitis in patients undergoing FNA through normal pancreatic parenchyma/pancreatic duct. Methods: In this prospective study at a tertiary cancer center, patients undergoing sampling through the pancreatic duct or ≥5 mm of the normal parenchyma between December 2013 and September 2017 were included. Post-EUS induced pancreatitis was diagnosed by the presence of abdominal pain with an amylase or lipase level higher than three times normal value. Results: A total of 712 patients underwent pancreatic EUS FNA. A total of 163 patients were included in the high-risk group. Mean age was 63 years, 82 females, mean number of needle-passes was 3.3 (range, 1-7). Fifteen patients (15/163, 9.2%) developed pancreatitis after EUS FNA through the pancreatic parenchyma compared with only one case among the control group (<5 mm of normal parenchyma) (0.18%, 1/549, p<0.0001). Several factors appeared to be associated with pancreatitis, including young age, solid lesion, and a recent history of acute pancreatitis. By logistic regression, a prior history of recent pancreatitis was the only statistically significant factor associated with post-EUS-guided biopsy pancreatitis (p=0.008). Conclusions: Patients with a recent history of acute pancreatitis undergoing EUS FNA through 5 mm or more of the normal pancreatic parenchyma are at a much greater risk of acute pancreatitis. A Study on Fuzzy Searching Algorithm and Conditional-GAN for Crime Prediction System

본 연구에서는 현재 발생한 범죄와 과거 유사 범죄의 기록을 조사하여 용의선상에 오른 자들과 전과자들를 비교분석하여 범인를 예측하는 시스템을 제안한다. 제안된 시스템은 용의자들과 전과자들의 안면을 비교하기 위하여 조건부 생성 적대 네트워크를 포함하는 퍼지 매칭으로 예상 범인을 선별하는 인공 지능 기반 알고리즘 범죄 예측 시스템(CPS)입니다. 유효성을 증명하기 위하여동 티모르. 범죄 기록의 데이터를 활용하였습니다. 구축 된 알고리즘은 증언을 바탕으로 몽타쥬를 작성하여 범죄 기록상의 전과자 안면과 비교됩니다. 제안 된 알고리즘과 CPS의 결과는 범죄를 처리하는 경찰관의 시간과 노력을 최소화될 뿐만 아니라 신속한 결과를 얻었으므로 유용하다는 것을 확인했습니다. 특히, 동 티므로와 같이 부족한 인적 자원과 예산으로 사회 안전망을 유지하는 것이 어려운 국가에 제안된 시스템의 적용은 미해결 범죄의 감소와 신속한 범죄 수사에 기여할 수 있다. In this study, artificial intelligence-based algorithms were proposed, which included a fuzzy search for matching suspects between current and historical crimes in order to obtain related cases in criminal history, as well as conditional generative adversarial networks for crime prediction system (CPS) using Timor-Leste as a case study. By comparing the data from the criminal records, the built algorithms transform witness descriptions in the form of sketches into realistic face images. The proposed algorithms and CPS"s findings confirmed that they are useful for rapidly reducing both the time and successful duties of police officers in dealing with crimes. Since it is difficult to maintain social safety nets with inadequate human resources and budgets, the proposed implemented system would significantly assist in improving the criminal investigation process in Timor-Leste.
The Price Relevance of Fiscal Developments

We use Seemingly Unrelated Regressions Estimation methods to assess the link between prices, bond yields and the fiscal behavior. A first equation determines the country-specific cost of government financing via the long-term government bond yield, as a function of budget balance positions. A second equation links the price level to the cost of government financing. Our results for 15 EU countries in the period 1980Q1–2013Q4 show that improvements in the fiscal stance lead to persistent falls in sovereign yields; higher sovereign yields are reflected in upward price movements; improvements in the fiscal stance in recession times lead to short-term decreases in yields and better fiscal stance in expansions induce downward movement in bond yields only after 8 quarters.
Green synthesis of carbon nanodots from agro-industrial residues

Fluorescent nanostructures based on carbon, or carbon dots, are attracting much attention and interest because of their diverse properties which can be applied in several fields of knowledge, such as optics, biomedicine, environmental research, among others. Such properties are in part, derived from its intrinsic luminescence from tunable functional groups. In this work, we produced carbon nanodots (CND) using agro-industrial residues, such as Lolium perenne and malt bagasse. The methods used were conventional hydrothermal syntheses and microwave-assisted hydrothermal synthesis. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time that carbon dots synthesized from this ryegrass type are reported. The synthesis methods were one step (no catalyst, base, or acid were added for passivation), and the functional groups responsible for the luminescence and high solubility in water were identified by infrared spectroscopy, being mainly C=O, C–OH, C–N, and N–H. According to our theoretical studies, the C=O group introduced a new energy level for electronic transitions that can affect the emission properties. Fluorescence images of osteoblasts using CNDs were acquired and their chelating property towards Pb2+ and Cr6+ detection was tested.

A nonlinear finite element model (FEM) is developed to assess the behaviour of a cracked concrete interface, reinforced with embedded steel bars and subjected to monotonic loading. A dowel action finite element modelling approach is conceived for that purpose. The bond between the steel bars and the surrounding concrete is also considered in the model and an interface finite element is included to simulate aggregate interlock. Then, the comparison of the model results with experimental values allowed the calibration of aggregate interlock constitutive relations for cracks in monolithic concrete restrained by embedded steel bars. New constitutive relations are also proposed for shear transfer by aggregate interlock in a concrete joint.
