Ergonomic evaluations for the working postures of beauty industry workers using three major checklist (OWAS, RULA, REBA) were conducted in this study. Basically, jobs (high risk jobs) belonged to risk levels 3 and 4 were identified. The main results in this study have been obtained as follows; 1) Drying(based on RULA results), shampooing(based on OWAS, RULA results), and colorin (based on RULA results), cutting(based on RULA results) were turned out to be the jobs in hair-cutting part belonged to the category of high risk jobs, 2) Leg(based on OWAS, RULA, REBA results), back(based on RULA results), abdomen(based on OWAS, RULA results), and arm(based on RULA results) were turned out to be the jobs in skin-care part belonged to the category of high risk jobs and face was not associated with high risk job based on any results of all three checklists, 3) Foot care(based on OWAS, RULA results) and hand care(based on RULA results) were turned out to be the jobs in nail-care part belonged to the category of high risk jobs and artificial nail was not associated with high risk job based on any results of all three checklists, 4) Face make-up for make-up part was not belonged to the category of high risk jobs. Specifically, MSDs risks for the jobs in skin-care part were turned out to be higher than those of other part. All the results obtained from this study could be used as baseline data for MSDs intervention of Beauty industry jobs.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the prevailing ergonomic conditions regarding low back injury in an assembly factory. In this study, analytic biomechanical model and NIOSH guidelines were applied to evaluate risk levels of low back injury for automobile assembly jobs. Total of 246 workers were analysed. There were 10 jobs with greater back compressive forces than 350㎏ at L5/Sl. Also there were 44 jobs over Action Limit in terms of 1981 NIOSH guidelines. This could in part be explained by the ergonomic conditions of the companys analysed as not hazardous, with a relatively low duration of 'combined' extreme work posture. However, more ergonomic intervention could be done based an those results.

The study on industrial accidents in Korea has been focused on frequencies of each type, severity, characteristics, causes, and so on. Those attributes of industrial accidents were usually analyzed independently, so that it was hard to provide a systematic guidelines for efficient safety management. Therefore, there were a few of studies based on comprehensive survey results in terms of characteristics of safety management. This study aimed to figure out the characteristics of current safety management and to provide a guideline for ideal safety management in industry. The questionnaire survey carried out for the workers(695) who were in charge of safety management at their industries. The multivariate analyses as well as descriptive statistical analysis were conducted. The factor analysis showed that there were three factors of safety management. They were 1) investment and management for accident prevention, 2) safety manager, and 3) general health and environmental condition. The industries of respondents were clustered into three groups. Three groups showed a statistically significant differences on the number of cases reported and the trends of accident. Actually, the group with the larger investment and better management of accident prevention had a smaller number of accident cases.
