This dissertation provides the first important survey on the magazine of photography in Korea. Heavily filled with insightful and intimate detail, the dissertation reaches back briefly to the independent era of the 1945-1950 to establish the origin of Korean photographic magazine and to define what is truly the specialty and the position of photography in the cultural magazine which was the most important public media for the people until the mid of 1950's. I focus, in this dissertation, on the two magazine of photography from 1945 to 1950, when Korea was virtually the independent era between Japanese colonial rule to the Korean war, identifying the spirit of Korean photographic magazine and the metaphorical expression of photographs of art magazine to communicate the truth of Korean society of photography. This dissertation concern, moreover, dose not ends with the magazine of photography itself, although he is sensitive to the precise photographic and editorial character of each magazine and the leading figures within each issue. This dissertation consists of two numbered parts except for the introduction, conclusion and appendix. The format has been planned to be vividly exciting and exceedingly informative for scholars of Korean history of art and photography. The content of each part is as follows; Part one : The launch of 『Pictorial Korea』 published in November of 1945. Thls magazine was a first thing in Korea as a graphic journalism centering photography. Part two : The foundation of 『Culture of Photography』 published in July of 1948 . This part treats the history and contents of this magazine that was for photographic culture itself peridically.

In the process of carbody design, various surfaces can be generated from the given boundary curves. Depending upon the method of the surface generation and the quality of the boundary curves provided, the resulting surfaces may have global or local irregularities in many cases. Thus it would be necessary for the designer to evaluate the surface quality and to modify the surface or to use the different generation method based upon the evaluation results. This capability is very important because the defect of the surface quality detected in the production stage will require the rework on the dies and will cause a big loss in money and time. In this paper a surface evaluation method using reflection mapping is described. This method simulates the reflection test on the real part in the production line.<br/> <br/>
