This paper presents a novel design technique and characteristic analysis of Magnet for dua1 air-gap axial-flux type permanent-magnet synchronous generator. The process of magnet design is applied to the motor design and steady state analysis considering output voltage waveforms and magnetic flux waveforms.<br/> Design and construction of an axial-flux permanent-magnet generator with power output at 60 [Hz], 300 [r/min] is introduced. Finite(FE) method is applied to analyze magnet shape characteristics. The results of FE analysis show generator is feasible for use with dual air-gap axial-flux permanent- magnet synchronous generator.<br/>

The ultra high pressure injection system(UHPIS) and diesel combustion system of rapid intake compression expansion machine type were deneloped for investigation of spray and the combustion characteristics. Ultra high pressure injection was achieved by manufactured UHPIS. which has a facality about lO.OOObar in desined injection perssure.<br/> In case of 2.000bar injection pressure the diameter of spray and ignition delay period were decreased about 75%. 67% compare with those of injection pressure of 800bar respectively.<br/> it was found that though spray and combustion were improved by ultra high pressure injection, the proper injection pressure which was efficient to those was exist.<br/>

Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells (PEMFC) are the most appropriate for energy source of small robot applications. PEMFC has superior in power density and thermodynamic efficiency as compared with the Direct Methaol Fuel Cell (DMFC). Furthermore, PEMFC has lighter weight and smaller size than DMFC which are very important factors as small robot power system. The most significant factor of mobile robots is weight which relates closely with energy consumption and robot operation. This research tried to find optimum specifications in terms of type, number of cell, active area, cooling method, weight, and size. In order to find optimum 500W PEMFC, six options are designed in this paper and studied to reduce total stack weight by applying new materials and design innovations. However, still remaining problems are thermal management, robot space for energy sources, and soon. For a thermal management, design options need to analysis of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for determining which option has the improved performance and durability.

The purpose of this study was to investigate about the effect of EGR and with fuel additive on diesel emissions. EGR rate was defined with the volume of fresh change and the estimated volume of recirculated gas with assumption of constant volumetric efficiency. The major conclusion of this work include; ( i ) the amount of NOX concentration is decreased about 88% with the 40% of EGR rate, and the amount of smoke density is increased three times respectively; (ii) adding the 30 ppm of iron additive to the diesel fuel, the smoke density is decreased about 60%; (iii) below the 50% of engine load with the 40% of EGR rate, the amount of oxygen is decreased 27%, and the heat capacity is increased 42%, respectively; (iv) finally, the reason of NOX decrease by EGR seems to be that it is influenced by the increase of heat capacity because of excess air under the low load condition and by the amount of oxygen because of rich condition with the high load.<br/>
