Fetal cystic lymphangioma or Cystic hygroma is a benign, painless, soft, compressible malformation of the lymphatic system appearing as single or multiseptated fluid-filled caviti-es. The term of cystic hygroma is most commnonly used to describe a cystic thickening in the neck region, also called cystic hygroma colli. The head and neck region is the most comm-on place of presentation. They are thought to arise from failure of the lymphatic system to communicate with the venous system in the neck. If such communication fails to develop, the jugular lymphatics and lymphatc sacs dilate, resulting in the formation of cystic hygroma. They often progress to hydrops and cause fetal death. Fetal lymphangiomas can occur in many different anatomic locations. From 75 to 95% of postnatally diagnosed cystic hygromas are found in the neck, and about 20% are located in the axilla. Recently, we have experienced a case of fetal axillary cystic lymphangioma at 36 weeks of gestation observed in 30-year-old multiparous woman, and report that with brief review of related literature.
항응고제 Warfarin 투여가 폐경 여성의 요추 골밀도에 미치는 영향

It has been previously shown that lack of vitamin K impairs skeletal intergrity. But the role of vitamin K antagonist has not been well known. To evlauate the effects of vitamin K antagonist(warfarin) in the maintenance of skeletal intergrity, spinal bone mineral density (BMD) was measured by quantitative computed tomography(QCT) in 21 postmenopausal women(mean age 50.1 year) taking warfarin for more than one year because they had a prosthetic heart valve. For comparison, 21 age-, menopausal duration-matched controls who visited menopause clinic due to hot flushes were recruited. All the postmenopausal women were free of disease and were not taking drugs known to influence bone and calcium metabolism. Menopausal duration was correlated with BMD in patients(r=-0.57, p=0.007) and control (r=-0.64, p=0.002). When adjusted for age and menopausal duration, mean spinal BMD were similar in warfarin receiving patients(129.1+-8.3mg/cc) and matched controls(129.3+-6.3mg/cc). These data suggest that warfarin does not have a major role in maintenance of skeletal integrity in postmenopausal women
