Farmed deer could be susceptible carrier to bovine viral infectious disease. But unfortunately, there has not been an overall study over this subject in Korea so far. Therefore, a study was conducted to see serum antibodies to bovine leukosis, food and mouth disease, bovine viral diarrhea and infectious bovine rhinotracheitis in deer using the sera of farmed deer. As a result, two deer in a farms showed positive in bovine leukosis antibodies, using ELISA. For wild water deer, no antibodies were found for those diseases. As a result, it can be assumed that deer were relatively low rate of exposure to highly contagious disease such as viral bovine infectious disease in Korea. As this study was conducted over limited in number of subject and regions, continued study should be carried out in order to prevent and control the interspecies transmission in the future.

본 연구는 독서 치료의 관점에서 학습자가 텍스트를 의미 있게 파악하고 학습자 자신의 내면적 치료가 필요한 부분에 교사의 구체적인 발문의 형태가 적절히 제시되고 활용될 수 있도록 하는 데에 그 목적을 둔다 이를 위해 본고에서 사용하는 발문의 개념을 텍스트를 매개체로 하여 학습자의 심리적 치유를 지향하는 치료의 과정에서 교사가 학습자의 심적 변화가 가능하도록 이해 활동과 표현 동기를 지향하고 촉진하도록 제시하는 의도성이 강한 질문 형태로 규정하고 독서 치료와 발문의 관계성을 사고와 관련지어 점검하였다 이에 대하여 독서 치료의 일반적인 과정인 인식 고찰 병치 자기적용에 따른 그리고 원리인 동일시 카타르시스 통찰에 따른 발문의 일반적인 형태와 구체적인 적용 방안을 제시하였다 이 연구의 결과는 심리적 치유가 필요한 학습자에게 교사가 텍스트를 중심으로 구체적인 발문을 구성하고 지도하는 데 실제적인 도움을 줄 것으로 본다. The purpose of this study is to allow learners to meaningfully grasp the text, and to appropriately present and utilize the teacher’s specific question form in areas that require the learner’s own internal treatment from the perspective of reading therapy. To this end, the concept of ‘teacher’s question’ used in this paper is defined as follows. This is a teacher’s intentional question that promotes the learner’s understanding activity and expression motivation so that the learner’s mental change is possible through text to learners who need psychological treatment. And this study classified and checked reading therapy and questions according to the scope and level of thinking. In this regard, the general form and specific application plan of the questioning according to the general process of reading therapy such as recognition,consideration, juxtaposition, self-application, and the principles of identification, catharsis, and insight were presented. The results of this study are expected to give practical help to learners in need of psychological healing for teachers to construct and guide specific questions centered on the text.
유우농장에서 발생한 소바이러스성 백혈병의 병리학적 및 혈청학적 조사

Bovine viral leukosis is a viral disease of cattle characterized by the development of tumors in the lymphatic tissue. A female Holstein, 3-year-old, was submitted for diagnosis at the Diagnostic Laboratory, Chonbuk National University. Clinical sign of the affected animal showed emaciation, enlargement of superficial lymph node and mild diarrhea. Remarkable lesions were enlargement of many internal lymph nodes. Histopathology revealed excessive neoplastic lymphoid cells characteristic of BVL infection. Subsequently, serums from all cattle were collected and serological examination was done where a 85% seropositive rate was detected using ELISA test. ELISA method showed a comparatively 75% higher detection rate than the agar gel immunodiffusion (AGID) test (85% vs 40%). Serologically positive cattle were variably detected in all ages from under 1 year to over 6 year of age. Hematological exami-nation consistently showed leukocytosis and a differential lymphocytosis of seropositive cattle. Detailed comparative pathological and serological data diagnosed the presence of bovine viral leukosis.

Deer can be one of the susceptible animals to bovine infectious diseases, and thus, may play a role either as a reservoir or amplifier host for spreading the diseases to other species such as cattle and goat. This study was conducted to determine the serum antibodies to bacterial infectious diseases for brucellosis, tuberculosis (TB), paratuberculosis (Johne`s disease) in deer. Serum samples were randomly collected from 78 deer from 31 farms at Jeonbuk province, and 7 wild water deer from Jeonbuk wild animal treatment center during 2005 to 2007, respectively. Four farm deer (5.1%) showed antibodies to tuberculosis using Antigen Rapid Bovine TB Ab Test Kit. One elk (1.3%) and one wild water deer had antibodies for paratuberculosis. Antibody against Brucellosis was not detected in tube agglutination test (TAT) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). These data suggest that caution should be applied to inspection of velvet, deer blood and meat for human consumption from deer because of zoonotic bacterial diseases in deer. In addition, farmed deer can be a transmissible host for zoonotic disease to diary or raising farm.

With deer farming now becoming recognized as one of the alternative livestock farming practices, there has been much attention on infectious diseases of cattle, but less awareness of these diseases in deer. Serum samples were randomly collected from 78 deer from 31 farms and 7 wild water deer from wild animal medical center during 2005 to 2007, respectively. A total 85 sera were tested for Neospora caninum antibodies by ELISA. Fourteen farmed deer(17.9%) were positive to N. caninum but no antibodies were found in sera from wild water deer. The sera from all of the area for these study showed positive in the range from 6.7 to 30.7%. On the basis of these study, farmed deer in Jeonbuk province were exposed extensively and seriously to N. caninum which might present a risk to other species included cattle and dog.

In order to detection of the intestinal parasites, fecal samples were taken from broiler (n=290), parent stock (n=168) and laying hen (n=114) in Jeonbuk province. The prevalence and identification of intestinal parasites were determined by the fecal examination using the floatation method and microscopical examination, respectively. The detection rate of parasite-eggs from 3 flocks (total=572) was 44.9%. In the breed and type of breeding, infection rate of parasite-eggs was detected 65.5% as broiler (floor breeding, 290 chickens), 20.2% as parent stock (floor breeding, 168 chickens) and 28.9% as laying hen (cage breeding, 114 chickens), in order. In the concern of mixed infection such as single and double, the rate were 40.7% and 4.2%, respectively. Six kinds of infective eggs were isolated 257 fecal sample from 3 flock. They were classified 74.7% as Eimeria spp, 18.1% as Ascaridia galli and 6.0% as Capillaria spp and 0.4% as Heterakis gallinarum, Railleina spp or Trichostrongylus spp, single or in combination.
