We investigate some operation characteristics and energy efficiency of the battery source BLDC motor driven by a direct power converter for applying to electrical motor propulsion system. At first, we get the performance curves of discharge voltage and current characteristic curves of a battery at each load. Then we derived trend curves from the discharge voltage curves. Also, we show that total running distances can be obtained from the motor's RPM trend curves obtained from the discharge voltage trend curves. Finally, through some experimental results, we suggested optimum operation conditions for designing battery source BLDC motor driven propulsion system for small-ships.

This paper evaluates the influences of variables related to accelerated life test time for a compressor in a refrigerator to guarantee qualification life of it. At first, some equations applied to real industrial field for evaluating accelerated life test time are introduced. Then we investigate influences of the variables of the equations effected on the test time. Finally, we analyze the times obtained from each equation which is necessary for testing the compressor. It will be expected that relations between each equation can be cleared. Therefore, we can conduct accelerated life test of a refrigerator"s compressor within optimized minimum test time.

Compressor is a major component of a refrigeration system. Therefore many attempts to progress performances of the compressor have been conducted. The reliability qualification test is essential when a new product of a compressor is developed to guarantee life of the product under normal operation conditions. If the number of test sample is limited, the test period will be increase inevitably. In order to reduce the test period, we have to obtain an acceleration factor as some value through an acceleration life test. The process and methodology to establish the acceleration factor are investigated in this paper. The Weibull distribution and the Arrhenius relationship are adopted to estimate the acceleration factor under given assumptive temperature data. Finally a stress condition to satisfy the acceleration factor was formulated.
