본 연구는 박쥐의 연령 증가에 따른 발성 초음파의 변화를 파악하기 위하여 집박쥐(Pipistrellus abramus)를 대상으로 생후 어린 개체가 발산하는 음을 이용하여 세부 분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과 어린 개체는 성체와 다른 복합적이고 다양한 형태의 시그널을 발산하는 것으로 확인되었다. 펄스의 형태는 생후 2일차에는 하모니의 수가 많고 불규칙적인 시그널 형태를 보였으며, 생후 10일차부터 20일 까지는 완만한 FM 시그널 형태를 보였다. 생후 30일 경에는 짧은 시간의 FM 시그널 형태를 보였으며, 40일 이후 점차 성체와 유사한 형태의 시그널을 발산하였다. 어린개체의 성장에 따른 발성 시그널을 분석한 결과 각각의 분석 항목별로 유의적인 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 펄스의 지속시간 p<0.001), 펄스 간격(p<0.001), 하모니의 수(p<0.001)는 새끼의 연령이 증가할수록 감소하는 경향을 보였으며, 최고진동수(p<0.001), 개시진동수(p<0.001), 종말진동수(p<0.001)는 증가하는 결과를 보였다. 특히 펄스 간격은 생후 5일차에 가장 큰 변화를 보였으며, 그 외 펄스 지속시간, 최고진동수, 개시진동수, 종말진동수는 생후 25일차에 가장 큰 변화를 나타내었다. This study reports developmental changes in the vocal signals produced by infant or young Pipistrellus abramus. In contrast to adult bats, infant bats of the P. abramus emitted calls characterized by multi harmonics and variable signal patterns. Infants at two day of age emitted a irregular signal and showed gentle FM signals between 10 and 20 days. After about 40 days of age, the young bats emitted similar signals to the echolocation calls of adults. As the infant bats growing up, vocal signals trend showen a decrease in pulse duration(p<0.001), pulse interval(p<0.001) and number of harmonic(p<0.001). And the peak frequency(p<0.001), starting frequency(p<0.001) and ending frequency(p<0.001) in infant bats increased with the age. The largest change in pulse interval occurred in 5 days. And the pulse duration, peak frequency, starting frequency and ending frequency of the bat`s sounds changed most dramatically in 25 days of age.
내장산국립공원내 서식하는 안주애기박쥐(Vespertilio sinensis)의 외부형태 및 채식지 환경특성

We have analyzed the external morphology and the environment of the foraging site of Vespertilio sinensis. The external morphology was analyzed by twelve parameters and the environment characteristics of the foraging site was analyzed using GIS 10.1 program. The wing membrane was inserted into the ankle of the hind foot and the wing ratio was 1.42, the middle type between broad-short wing type and long-narrow wing type. The fur color was blackish brown but the guard hair color was whitish. The shape of the ear was a rounded triangle and tragus was a fan shape. This study showed that V. sinensis preferred the deciduous forest of the upper forest zone, where human interference was less. We believed that abundance of insects, depending on water system, was closely related to the use of the foraging site. This result showed that the environment characteristics was very similar to the nature preservation zone including Baekyang valley and Keumsun valley in Naejangsan National Park.

Between July and October 2011, radio-tracking was used to analyze the characteristics of home ranges and day roosts of Myotis aurascens by using 3 individuals (male: 2, female: 1). Bat capturing was conducted at a bridge and a nearby forest in Ulju-gun, Ulsan-si. We attached radio transmitters (0.32 g) to the bats and monitored them by using a radio receiver with a Yagi antenna. Home-range analysis of M. aurascens by using 100% minimum convex polygon (MCP) and 95% MCP showed an average of 106.5 ha and 89.3 ha, respectively, and 50% kernel home range (KHR) showed an average of 8.4 ha. Home range overlap of the 3 bats was observed at the bridge and at nearby water bodies as the core areas, and the size of the home range overlap was 7.3 ha by 100% MCP, 5.9 ha by 95% MCP, and 1.6 ha by 50% KHR. The home range for each bat consisted of the main foraging sites, and the types of foraging sites were similar. M. aurascens-01(M-01) used the bridge and nearby water bodies as the nightly main core areas, M. aurascens-02(M-02) used rice fields and water bodies adjacent to the forest as core areas, and M. aurascens-03(M-03) used water bodies and resident areas as core areas. Although rice fields and resident sites represented the core areas of the home ranges of M-02 and M-03, habitat use was the highest near water bodies as the core area for all the 3 bats. The types of day roosts in this study were a wooden house, canopies of a broad-leaved woodland, and banks of rice fields. The roosts in the wooden house and canopies of the broad-leaved woodland were located within the forest, and the roost in the banks of rice fields was also adjacent to the forest. Our results revealed that the main home range and foraging sites of M. aurascens were located near water bodies as the core area, and forests and places adjacent to the forests were used as day roosts.
문둥이박쥐(Eptesicus serotinus)의 배설물을 이용한 먹이원 분석

문둥이박쥐(Eptesicus serotinus)의 먹이원 구성을 파악하기 위하여 총 25개체의 암컷 성체로부터 배설물을 수집하여 분석하였다. 박쥐의 포획은 경북 안동시의 문둥이박쥐 집단 서식지가 확인된 교량을 대상으로 하였으며, 2014년 5월부터 9월까지 매월 5개체를 대상으로 하였다. 총 100개의 배설물이 수집되었으며, 고배율 현미경(50 × binocular microscope)을 이용하여 곤충의 목(Order)별로 구기(mouthpart), 다리(leg), 날개(wing), 더듬이(antenna), 딱지날개 (elytra) 등 구분할 수 있는 특징을 이용하여 동정하였다. 배설물 분석결과 문둥이박쥐의 먹이원으로 이용된 분류군은 딱정벌레목(Coleoptera), 벌목(Hymenoptera), 파리목(Diptera), 노린재목(Hemiptera) 등 4개였다. 먹이원 가운데 딱정 벌레목은 6월을 제외하고 5, 7, 8, 9월 모두에서 확인되었으며, 특히 5월과 7월에는 오직 딱정벌레목만 확인되었다.그 외 노린재목, 파리목, 벌목은 각각 9월, 6월, 8월에 먹이원으로 이용되는 것으로 나타났다. Faecal analysis was carried out to identify the diet composition of Eptesicus serotinus after collecting the faeces from 25 female bats. Five bats were captured at a bridge where a colony of E. serotinous was found in Andong city, Gyeongbuk, every month from May to September 2014. A total of 100 faeces were collected and the parts of insects obtained from the faeces were examined using a high-resolution microscope (50× binocular microscope) and then the orders of the insects were identified by the characteristics of the parts of the insect (mouthpart, leg, wing, antenna, elytra, etc.). According to the results of the faecal analysis, 4 orders: Coleoptera, Hymenoptera, Diptera and Hemiptera were used as food resource of E. serotinus. Coleoptera was found in May, July, August, and September. Interestingly, only Coleoptera were found in May and July. Hemiptera, Diptera, and Hymenoptera were found to be used as food resources in September, June, and August.
연구노트 : 환경특성에 따른 안주애기박쥐(Vespertilio sinensis)의 반향정위 특징

In this study, we analyzed two types of echolocation calls used by the parti-coloured bat, Vespertilio sinensis. Bats were captured in the Naejangsan National Park in October 2013. Call sounds of hand-released bats were recorded at the location of capture within the National Park. We analyzed pulse duration (PD), pulse interval (PI), peak frequency (PF), maximum frequency (FMAX), minimum frequency (FMIN), and bandwidth (BW). V. sinensis emitted the different types of the echolocation calls depending on the surrounding environment. Frequency modulated-constant frequency (FM-CF) signal of audible range was emitted when they flew in the uncluttered space over the canopy. However, when flying in the cluttered space below the canopy, they only emitted FM signal. FM-CF signal is in the audible range (e.g., low frequency), and FM signal has a harmonic broadband frequency range of two. There were significant differences in PD, PI, PF, FMAX, FMIN, and BW between the calls emitted over and below the canopy. Considering the functional characteristics of FM and CF signals, we conclude that the foraging activity of V. sinensis was observed below the canopy, and recommend the use of FM signal and broadband as echolocation signals.
