In this study, we manufactured 6 DOF simulator with pneumatic cylinder and analyzed position control possible limits of it by the inverse kinematics, and, we investigated control performance of the simulator with PDD² controller derived from linear model of the pneumatic cylinder driving system.

The study of stewart platform is continuously proceeding, but, the study of stewart platform use mostly an actuator by the electric motor to move the moving platform. We manufactured 6 DOF simulator with six pneumatic cylinders and obtained a favorable command following performance, and, we tried finding the real-time forward kinematic solution and the motion monitoring of the 6 DOF simulator.

In this study, a measurement method of leakage flow-rate for pneumatic driving apparatus is proposed. The existing measurement methods of leakage flow-rate of air need disassemble the test component. Therefore, there is no effective method to measure the leakage flow-rate while operating pneumatic driving apparatus. In this study, the leakage flow-rate is measure from the pressure change in an isothermal chamber that can realize isothermal conditions by stuffing steel wool into it. Therefore, wide range of flow-rate could be measured only from the pressure response and the leakage flow-rate can be measured during operating pneumatic driving apparatus. The effectiveness of the proposed method is proved by experimental results.

Leak detection technology is a challenging research until nowadays, because it has wide and various applications in industry. Furthermore pneumatic component reliability test based on ISO requires air leakage measurement. The conventional measurement methods need a complex operation and the calibration of leak detector. Tracing the history of our study, we proposed a new method for measurement of leak flow rate using isothermal chamber. In this study, propose a simulation model of isothermal chamber by infinitesimal flow -rate, such as a leak flow-rate. The effectiveness of the proposed simulation model is proved by simulation and experimental results. Base on the comparison results, proposed simulation model is good agreement with experimental results.

In general, the swing motion of the crane is controlled and suppressed by activating the trolley motion. For this many control strategies have tried and presented. In this paper, we apply a new control approach to design an anti-sway control system of the crane. In the crane system, the main issue is to suppress the undesirable sway-motion and many good results have been obtained. Especially, the authors have proposed an unique control approach. In the proposed control system, a small auxiliary mass(moving-mass) is installed on the spreader and the swing motion is controlled by moving the auxiliary mass. The actuator reaction against the auxiliary mass applies inertial control forces to the container in order to reduce the swing motion in the desired manner. However, if we consider the rope length is varying in operating process, then we should apply some effective control strategy. In this paper, we design two or three controllers in the specified operating ranges. They will work very well in each specified range, but they may not guarantee good control performance in unspecified operating ranges. If we use these facts, we can obtain more developed control performance. So, in this paper, we design several controllers for each operating range and do switching the controllers. Of course, the system stability must be preserved in switching. The simulation result shows that the proposed control system is useful and robust to disturbances like winds and initial sway motion.
