This qualitative study examined Korean college soccer players’ perceptions of and need for agents and the roles and competencies expected of them based on in-depth interviews with college soccer players. By exploring the significance of soccer agents as perceived by college soccer players, this study aimed to provide basic data necessary for training soccer agents for college soccer players and establishing regulations for college soccer agents. The research results can be summarized as follows: (1) The players interviewed generally showed a positive attitude toward soccer agents and were aware of the need for an agent; (2) the roles expected of an agent by college soccer players were different from those expected by professional soccer players: preparing opportunities to join Korean and foreign professional clubs, supporting and managing players, and facilitating smooth communication; and (3) the core competencies expected of a soccer agent by college soccer players were official agent certification, networks with professional soccer clubs, and understanding of the soccer industry. The results of this study highlight the need for stakeholder organizations in soccer to establish a systematic agent platform for college soccer players and take efforts to eliminate unregistered agents who engage in inappropriate activities. Qualified agent education and training for college soccer players will help protect them from unregistered agents and foster high-quality agency services.
PHEMT를 이용한 광대역 12 GHz 능동 주파수 체배기 설계

본 논문은 6 GHz의 주파수를 2체배 하여 12 GHz의 신호원을 얻는 광대역 능동 주파수 2체배기를 PHEMT를 사용하여 제작하였다. 설계된 주파수 체배기는 핀치오프 영역의 바이어스점을 가지며, 동작주파수 영역에서 무조건 안정인 특성을 갖도록 하기 위하여 입력매칭단과 바이어스 라인 사이에 직렬 RC 회로를 제안하였다. 측정결과 0 dBm의 입력전력에 대하여 12 GHz, 1.7 dBm의 2차 고조파 출력을 얻었고, 6 GHz에서 27.5 dBc의 기본주파수 억압과 18 dBc의 3차 고조파 억압특성을 보였으며, 1.8 GHz의 3 dB 대역폭을 나타내었다.

The Korean Wave which refers to the phenomenon of Korean popular culture gaining immense popularity in abroad, is creating a new cultural consumption patter in abroad. Sport is acknowledged as a major factor in national competitiveness creating a new economic value, and it is showing potential to become a main agent to support the Korean wave syndrome, which has started from the pop culture. It was interesting to see that the popularity of Korean professional women’s volleyball and its players went up in Thailand for the past years. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the popularity factors of Korean women’s volleyball in Thailand and explore weather Korean women’s volleyball can be seen as a true Korean Wave of sport phenomenon. In order to achieve the proposed research goals and objectives, Thai people (volleyball fans, instructors of Thai volleyball league and teams, members of the media) were approached and asked in-depth face-to-face interview. The results revealed that the attractiveness of Korean women’s volleyball players and fun factor of Korean women’s professional volleyball league are the preferred factors for Korean women’s volleyball in Thailand. In summary, the findings in this study contributes to the Korean Wave of sport literature by explaining what popularity factors exist. These findings will provide strategic perception to increase Korean Wave of sport phenomenon. The current study also provides marketers at professional sports with useful implications to make informed global marketing strategies for economic creation.
Hybrid Nanocomposites of Palladium Nanoparticles Having POSS and MWNTs via Ionic Interactions

Palladium nanoparticles having cubic silsesquioxanes (POSS) (Pd-POSS) were produced by the reaction of palladium Ⅱ) acetate and octa(3-aminopropyl)octasilsesquioxane octahydrochloride (POSS-NH3 +) in methanol at room temperature. Functionalized multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNT-COOH) were prepared by acid treatment of pristine MWNTs. The hybrid nanocomposites of Pd-POSS and MWNT-COOH (Pd-MWNT nanocomposites) were synthesized by self-assembly method via ionic interaction between positively charged Pd-POSS and negatively charged MWNT-COO-. The spherical aggregates of Pd-POSS with a diameter of 40-60 nm were well attached to the surfaces of MWNT-COOH on Silicon wafer. The composition, structure, and surface morphology of Pd-MWNT nanocomposites were studied by UV-vis spectrophotometer, energy dispersive spectrum (EDX), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and atomic force microscope (AFM).
