In this paper the experiments of breakdown characteristics by temperature change of $SF_6$ gas, $SF_6$ liquid ($LSF_6$) and $N_2$ liquid ($LN_2$) in model GIS(Gas Insulated Switchgear) were described. From the experiments results, the breakdown voltage of $SF_6$ increases with the drop of temperature and the increase of the inner pressure in model GIS. The ability of $LSF_6$ insulation is higher than high-pressurized $SF_6$ gas and $LN_2$. The breakdown characteristics of $LSF_6$ were produced by bubble formed evaporation of $LSF_6$ and bubble caused by high electric emission. It is considered in this paper that the results are fundamental data for electric insulation design of superconductor and cryogenic equipments machine교 which will be studied and developed in the future.

This paper is analysed by switching overvoltage on operating reclosing in 154[㎸] combined transmission systems. Combined transmission systems are modeled by EMTP/ATPDraw program. It is fault condition that simulate high resistance earth fault. The simulation is carried out considering variation of parameters such as resistance value of fault point and rate of underground line.

This paper aims to analyze the overvoltage in underground distribution systems when lightning surge strikes to overhead line. The model is established by EMTP/ATPDraw for actual distribution systems. Simulation is carried out considering variation of parameters such as length and lightning current.

This paper describes that the effect on the other system is generated by the single line to ground fault of the underground transmission systems and distribution systems established the common ground in trefoil. Each system is modeled by EMTP/ATPDraw and the system carry out simulations according to the various values of common ground to analyse. In this study, the result of analysis based on simulation suggests protection method and ground system of each system.

The stay cylinder weld at the steam generator of Korean Standard Nuclear Power Plants is safety class I component and is subjected to be inspected by the volumetric examination such as ultrasonic method. As accessibility of this area is limited due to the narrow space and high radiation, the existing manual inspection method involves various difficulties. Moreover operators may be exposed to internal contamination by contaminated dust during the surface buffing process to improve the inspection reliability of this area. Recently the new automatic inspection system for stay cylinder welds has been developed. The inspection system basically consists of a driving assembly, data acquisition device and signal processing units. The driving assembly is classified by 1) the scanner for inspecting and buffing the weld, 2) pillars for guiding the scanner and 3) the base frame for loading and supporting pillars. The scanner has 4 sensor modules to inspect in 4 refracted angles and 4 incident directions. These components can be inserted into the skirt of the stay cylinder through the manway hole and assembled easily by one-touch in the skirt. Data acquisition device and signal processing units developed in previous works are also newly upgraded for better processing of data analysis and evaluation. The system has been successfully demonstrated not only in the mock-up but also in the field. In this paper, newly developed inspection system for the stay cylinder weld of the steam generator is introduced and their field applications are discussed.

This paper describes the effect of transient state in underground transmission and distribution lines installed together in the same tunnel. Two systems installed in the same tunnel are operated by the common grounding. This paper analyzed that how much one of the two kinds of systems influences the other systems during the transient state by EMTP/ATPDraw. Single line-to-ground fault and lightning surge were selected in transient state condition. These cases were simulated variously according to the variation of common grounding magnitude, fault location and lightning surge magnitude. It is evaluated that the analyzed results will be used for establishment and operating materials of common grounding in the same tunnel.
