A temporary structure is a framework of metal poles and planks, used as a working platform from which building repairs or construction can be carried out safety. The manufacturing process of the existing model consumes a many hour. So, it is modified manufacturing process. In this study, it is attempted to find out the shape of modified working platform considering manufacturing process and using Taguchi method, and it reduces production process. The design parameters are defined to discribe shape of model. As a result of the shape design, maximum Von-Mises stress and displacement considering a safety factor were satisfied with CTEA (Construction Temporary Equipment Association of Korea) standard.

A scaffolding structure is a temporary framework of metal poles and planks, used as a working platform from which building repairs or construction can be carried out. The working platform is the structural element which keeps the feature where the thickness is very thin in different size. In this study, it is attempted to find out the shape of working platform using the finite element analysis, and it reduces production process. The design factors are thickness and area of the working platform. The commercial FEM program, ANSYS, was used for structural analysis for the shape. As a result of the shape design, stress value and deflection considering a safety factor were satisfied with CTEA(Construction Temporary Equipment Association of Korea) standard.

Vickers hardness is one of the most widely useful methods to obtain mechanical properties of a product. The hardness number of a cold-forged product is in close relation with its effective strain. However, few attempts to obtain the relation not by empirical results but by only simulation have been made for the Vickers hardness test. This paper presents the method to predict the relation between effective strains and the hardness by using FE-simulation of the hardness test without time-killing experiments. The results of FE-simulation for the materials are compared with those of experiments and also compared with those of experiments of the previous study to show the feasibility of the proposed method.

In this study, it is attempted to find out the optimal shape of U-type bellows using the finite element method. The effective factors, mountain height, length, thickness, and number of convolutions are considered and the proper values are chosen for the simulation. The results shows that if the number of convolutions are reduced, the volume decreases while the stress increases. However, the number of convolutions are increased, the volume increases above the standard volume and the stress obviously increases. In addition, the effect of the thickness of bellows on the stress is very large. Both of the volume and stress are decreasing at a certain lower value region.

腸티브스에 對한 Bactrim^(�) 治療의 臨床的 觀察

The Present study was carried out in order to evaluate the therapeutic effect of Bactrim in 23 selected patients with typhoid fever who were admitted to the Department of Internal Medicine, Seoul National University Hospital during the 5 months period from March to July, 1970. They consisted of 14 males and 9 females. The age was ranged from 16 to 57 years, with mean age of 34.2. The patients included were bacteriologically (positive blood or stool culture) and serologically (Widal reaction above 1:160 in titer) confirmed cases and they did not take any antibiotic prior to admission. Bactrim was given orally 4 tablets daily in 2 divided doses for 14 days. Baseline studies including complete blood counts, urinalysis, stool examination, tests for bleeding tendency, liver function tests and bacteriologic sensitivity tests were done before administration of the drug and they were repeated at intervals 3 to 4 times thereafter by the time of discharge. E. K. G was also checked before and after treatment. Bactrim was effective in 21 (91.3%) out of 23 patients and the duration of fever after treatment was ranging from 3 to 7 days in responded cases. Treatment failure was considered to occur if fever did not subside within 10 days after initiation of therapy. There were 2 treatment failures. Two cases of relapse and one case of side reaction of the drug were noted in this study.
