Genarally dream are known to be the mirror of the soul. Dreams based upon the psychial disposition of individual. Through the aesthetic practical representation of contents of the dream the motives coresponding to the psyche can find their interpretative expression without the censorschip of the conventinal system of language. Visually experienced dream events become motives for aestetic practice in painting lessons with double meaning : as well as psychological impulses for an inner impression as picture motives developing in the precess of creating The working on "dream" in painting likely to be an oppotunity for finding out about ones visions, fancies and utopias. Creative solution for the expression of dream events and wischdream can be tested. The knowledge of the objects of picture and technical proceedings help to make relation to the work, to follow partly the process of making, and to understand the context in which the picture was made etc. The tasks of aesthetic practise aim at 2 things ; on the on hand there schould be enough fredom for the children’s wish for communication and expression in an proceedings can be stimulated by specific instructions.

The traditional teaching of arts was drawing and painting according to ideals or nature. The became obolete at the end of the 19th century due to the discovery of “free” children’s painting. The focus of teaching painting by imitating masterpieces is in doing so to open possibilities to do it yourself. Through the imitator’s inner sympathy of intensive of his personal discussions with an ideal or a model imitation can get the quality of a mimetic process. Mimetic processes aim at an ceeordance between ideal and copy. Though but their criterion is not the exact copy but a similarity which opens free scope for the imitation subject. Every intented process of imitation in class only gets relevant in the strict meaning if it reaches the a quality of a mimetic process.

The art education in Korea has started first in the year of 1895. and it has undergone a remarkable modernization under many aspect changes and growth. Korean present art education lies apparently in the line of emphasizing "eativity"ut it is easily found that the art education centered in technique minded imitationism of promodern european art is taking place everywhere. Why? The object of the this papers is to pursue the historical background resulted in the imitationism in Korea primary school art education. The conclusion of the study is as follows; 1. The indirect background In the process of receiving and developing european painting technique in Korea, the formal technique like style of european painting has been intensively accepted without deep understanding of internal aspect like sprit of european painting. As a result, the european painting has been recognized generally as a simple technical practice that copies nature as it is. In the course of receiving of european painting technique in Korea, gypsdrawing and aquarell still life drawing has also introduced into Korea, that were subjects in pre-modern academy art education in Europe, and with the adoption of gypsdrawing and aquarelle still life drawing as main subjects of entrance examination for art school in Korea, imitationism-minded and technique centered art education has been spreaded art all over the primary school art education that comes under direct influence of art polycy in Korea. 2. The direct background The art education during japanese colonial period, that had begun 15 years after the start of Korean art education in elementary school, has been consisted of imitation-minded education which emphasized copy works of european technique paintings and the nature as it is. That trend of art education had continued for 36years, and has formed the direct background of the present imitation-minded school art education in Korea.
