Portable electronic devices generate heat more and more because of high power and thinner design specifications. The excessive heat makes the devices operate not properly and makes customers feel uncomfortable. To dissipate such excessive heat, various multi-layer heat spreading sheets (HSS) are attached to the various components of electronic devices. This study is conducted for the optimized thermal design of portable devices in the aspect of an analytical simulation modeling of HSS. First of all, test module which is similar to the product was employed and the test was done following the Graphite sheet. This result is used as input data for the computer simulation to calculate the equivalent thermal properties. Then the analytical result is compared and verified with theoretical thermal properties. Finally, thermal properties which can be applied to the concept design stage have been proposed.

A brake system in automobile is one of the important parts that directly affect the safety of passengers. Particularly, disk brake module is applied to almost all kinds of automobile brake system due to its remarkable braking power and braking distance. In the disk brake module of an automobile, the bolt for tire wheel is assembled to the disk brake hub by interference fit (bolt pressing process). The process induces small deformation whose range is within tens of ㎛ and this deformation may cause the runout badness of the whole disk brake module, and even braking problems such as judder or squeal phenomena which makes the loss of braking efficiency. In this study, bolt pressing fit into hub was simulated by ANSYSTM, a commercial structure analysis program. Also, the aspect and the cause of hub displacement were analyzed and the solution for decreasing runout of hub was proposed.

Bill of material (BOM), which structurally represents the relation among parts constructing a product, is usually created when enterprises start to develop a new product. And it is shown as various types of BOM according to business needs and usage such as eBOM(engineering BOM), gBOM(green BOM), mBOM(manufacturing BOM), pBOM(process BOM), etc. eBOM, generally called BOM and created in the design stage of the new product, includes the drawing information of parts in the view of product function. eBOM is extended to gBOM adding the material information of parts to cope with international regulations for environment. eBOM is transformed to mBOM, which includes manufacturing sequence of parts and adds some parts required to fabricate parts and to assemble the product. mBOM is also extended to pBOM adding the process information of each part and additional assembly processes. This study introduces the concept of multi-BOM covering eBOM, gBOM, mBOM and pBOM, and proposes an advanced way to manage product data using multi-BOM system. The multi-BOM system proposed is to manage their relations using transformation function of BOM and master information of all BOMs.
