The output of Stirling engine is influenced by the regenerator effectiveness. The regenerator effectiveness is influenced by heat transfer and flow friction loss of the regenerator matrix. In this paper, in order to provide a basic data for the design of regenerator matrix, characteristics of heat transfer and flow friction loss were investigated by a packed method of matrix in the oscillating flow as the same condition of operation in a Stirling engine. As matrices, several kinds of combined wire screen meshes were used. The results are summarized as follows; The packed meshes with high mesh no. in the side of heater part of regenerator showed effective than the packed meshes with low mesh no. in the side of cooler part of regenerator. The temperature difference and pressure drop of the regenerator were not made by the specific surface area of wire screen meshes but by the minimum free-flow area to the total frontal area. Among the No. 150 single screen meshes, 200-60 combined meshes, the 200-150-100 combined meshes showed the highest in effectiveness.

스마트폰의 대중화로 사용자도 똑똑해져야 하는 이 시대에 아직도 강의실이나 도서관, 공연장 등 정숙을 요구하는 장소에서 휴대폰을 매너모드를 설정하지 않아 부적절한 상황이 생기는 일이 일어나고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 기본적인 타이머 기능과 위치기반 기술인 GPS 기능을 사용자가 선택하여 스마트폰의 매너모드를 GPS 위치정보 수신 및 위치등록으로 변환되게 하거나 타이머에서 미리 설정해 둔 시간에 자동으로 설정, 해제시켜주는 어플리케이션을 개발하기 위한 요구분석과 설계에 중점을 두었다. 사용자는 자신에게 맞는 타입의 매너모드를 사용함으로써 더 이상 공공장소에서 타인에게 불편을 주는 일이 생기지 않을 것으로 기대된다. With the widespread use of smartphones, people are responsible for using them carefully, especially at public places. Smartphone owners often have a bashful experience as they forgot to switch their phones to manner mode (or silent mode) at public places like classrooms, libraries, concert halls, etc. To address this problem, we propose a smartphone application that enables users to set their smartphone in either GPS-based manner mode or Timer-based manner mode at their convenience. The GPS-based manner mode utilizes the GPS unit that provides a mobile user’s location information. This mode allows a user to register certain locations and automatically activates or deactivates manner mode based on the user’s current location and the registered locations. The Timer-based manner mode uses the timer function to automatically activate or deactivate manner mode according the time set. This paper focuses on analyzing the requirements of the proposed application and designing the application system. The proposed application can help prevent smartphone users from interrupting and discomforting others inadvertently.
복강경하 담낭절제술을 받는 심질환 노인에서 역 Trendelenburg체위가 혈역학에 미치는 영향

Background: We studied the hemodynamic changes induced by pneumoperitoneum and a reversed Trendelenburg in elderly patients with increased cardiac risk (ASA class III; n=30; age 70.8±4.9 years, mean±SD) and compared the results with elderly patients at normal risk (ASA class II; n=30; age 69.2±4.1 years) during laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Methods: The transesophageal Doppler monitor was performed after induction of general anesthesia (pre-incision), after onset of pneumoperitoneum (insufflation), after head-up (20°) and a left lateral tilt (15°) (reversed Trendelenburg) and after deflation and horizontal position (desufflation). Mean arterial pressure (MAP), heart rate, cardiac index (CI) and systemic vascular resistance (SVR) were measured, respectively. Results: Induction of pneumoperitoneum and head-up tilt in patients with cardiac risk resulted significantly in a decrease in CI and an increase in SVR compared with patients with normal risk (P<0.05), and that remained until deflation, but no interval changes in MAP and heart rate. The CI, MAP and heart rate decreased and SVR increased significantly in patients with cardiac risk compared with patients with normal risk before incision (P<0.05). No complications occurred. The results indicate that pneumoperitoneum and a reversed Trendelenburg are associated with significant but relatively benign hemodynamic changes. Conclusions: Anesthesia for laparoscopic cholecystectomy in elderly patients with increased cardiac risk should be performed with an adequate hemodynamic monitoring. Although numerous poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG)-based bioadhesives have been developed and commercializedfor various biomedical applications, their biocompatibility and bioactivity performances are generallylacking. In addition, the development of adhesive hydrogels with rapid gelation and high tissueadhesion are desirable to promote the surgical procedures and enhance patient compliance. To overcomethese problems, we designed a series of chemically crosslinked gelatin-PEG adhesive hydrogels (GP)through the enzymatic crosslinking reaction of horseradish peroxidase (HRP). The resultant GP hydrogelswere rapidly formed in situ within seconds to minutes after injection, and their mechanical as well asadhesive properties were adjustable in a wide range by changing the molecular weight and content ofPEG. Notably, the hybrid hydrogels composed of 20 kDa PEG with ratio of 2.5/7.5 gelatin/PEG (wt/wt)showed 11 times greater tissue adhesiveness than commercially available fibrin glues. From in vitro cellstudies, the hybrid adhesive hydrogels are nontoxic and improve the cell proliferation. Importantly, thehydrogels exhibited excellent hemostatic capability and accelerated the wound healing in vivo, comparedto fibrin glue. These injectable GP hydrogels effectively improved the tissue adhesiveness and bioactivityof PEG-based adhesives, and hold great potential for hemostatic and wound healing treatments.
공기충전기의 필터 수명 연장을 위한 냉매형 수분제거기에 관한 연구

An air charger is a device used to fill a respirator container with breathable air at high pressure. It is equipped with an air purification filter to remove harmful components generated during air charging. Among the main components of the filter, the desiccant determines the replacement cycle of the air purification filter. In this study, we are going to develop a refrigerant type moisture eliminator that can remove moisture by using refrigerant gas. We aim to extend the use time of the filter to about 70 hr. The experimental results showed that when the temperature of the injected air is 15 ℃, the moisture eliminator is installed at 2.8 mg/㎥. When the temperature of the injected air was 45 ℃, it is 7.6 mg/㎥. Through this, the moisture level removed by passing through the devices is about 1.5 times more moisture than the state without the eliminator.
