To enhance the machinability of the austenite stainless alloys, Mn and S were added to form MnS in the austenite matrix. Recently, Ca is also added to increase machinability. The alloying elements, such as C, Mn, S, Ca, and Al, are known to affect machinability, but those roles are not well understood. In this study, the ingots, controlled of alloying elements, C, Mn, S, Ca, Al, were prepared in the 304 stainless steel. The relationship between microstructure and machinability was compared to understand the role of alloying elements. It was proved that Mn and S enhanced machinability but C reduced it by analyzing cutting force on machining in the lathe. The alloying elements, Ca and Al, made a complex oxide compound of Mn-S-Ca-Al-Si-O, which results in increasing tool life. The ferrite volume fraction was changed with alloying elements and the effect of the ferrite fraction on machining was also discussed.

Recently, a dangerous event occurred at the field industry and mechanical system. At developed by SUNGGOK corp. a R-L clutches of a small and high capacity serves safety device from a variety environment of mechanical system, it permits transmission of driving torque form input to output shaft in both directions of rotation, but restrains any feedback torque of the driven load from rotating the output shaft in either direction. This study was carried out to demonstrate through finite element methode and durability estimation for safety of the R-L clutches without sliding during the engagement process. As results, we organized about endurance test methode when applied rated torque.

Feed values of a local variety of adlay (Coix lachryma jobi var. mayuen (ROMAN STAPE)) and Job`s tears (C. lachryma jobi L.) were compared with those of a sorghum-sudangrass hybrid (Pioneer 988) and a corn hybrid (Kwangok) at different growth stages. 1. Crude protein content of adlay and Job`s tears at flowering stage and that of sorghum-sundangrass hybrid at heading stage were similar. Crude protein content of the 1st cut forage was higher than that of the 2nd cut, although they were cut at the similar growth stages in all species. Crude protein of corn harvested at the yellow ripe stage was similar to that of the 2nd cut of adlay and Job`s tears. 2. Crude fiber, CWC, ADF, cellulose, lignin, and silica contents of adlay and Job`s tears were higher but hemicellulose content was lower compared to those of corn. 3. The in vitro dry matter digestibility (IVDMD) was greater in the order of corn $gt; sorghum-sundangrass hybrid $gt; Job`s tears $gt; adlay and IVDMD of the 1 st cut forages was higher than that of the 2nd cut. 4. Lactate content of adlay, Job`s tears, and sorghum-sundangrass hybrid silages was lower but butyrate content was higher compared to those of corn silage. Adlay and Job`s tears silages cut 40 days after flowering stage contained higher lactate and acetate but lower butyrate compared to those cut at flowering stage. Quality of sorghum-sudangrass hybrid silage was intermediate between that of adlay silage cut at flowering stage and 40 days after flowering stage. 5. As plant growth stage advanced, crude protein content and IVDMD of adlay and Job`s teats decreased, but crude fiber, CWC, ADF, and cellulose contents increased. The content of hemicellulose was not significantly changed. At the same growth stages dry matter production and IVDMD of adlay was lower and ADF content was higher compared to those of Job`s tears.

In this study, the reverse engineering method of planetary-gear reducer for track vehicles is investigated. A important factor in this study (Reverse engineering method of a planetary-gear reducer) is shift-coefficient and backlash. Therefore, a backlash was defined by gear class 4 of the KS(Korean Industrial Standard) and tolerance of base tangent length was defined by backlash. Center-distance of sun-gear, planet-gear, planet-gear and ring-gear is used to get sum of the shift-coefficient. The sum of the shift-coefficient is divided into gears properly. Shift-coefficient and backlash is applied to planetary-gear reducer degisn. A calculated gears tooth is checked by application program for a planetary gear.
