Tsutsugamushi disease is an acute febrile disease which is characterized by fever, headache, rash, and eschar. In Korea, there has been an increasing concern over rickettsiosis since Tsutsugamushi disease among Koreans was first reported in 1986. We experienced 75 cases of Tsutsugamushi disease that occurred during the periods of October-November, 1989, 1990. They which were confirmed by indirect immunofluorecent antibody test and their clinical findings were analized. Of 75 cases, 28 were males and 47 were females. The mean age was 50 years. The main symptoms and signs were headache, myalgia, fever, rash, and eschar. Characteristic laboratory findings included hypoalbuminemia, elevation of SGOT, proteinuria and interstitial pneumonia on chest X-ray. The mean duration of defervescence of fever was l. 4 days with tetracycline therapy and 1,25 days with chloramphenicol therapy. All cases improved and there were no recurrences.

This study is the second year results of wearable computing research in the middle of three research years. The range of study is as follows: part for ubiquitous technology development and making a product, part for students, part for companies, part for correlation research about college-companies. Research goal of the second year is to make a smart wear having a concept of digital integrated. Study aim of the third year is to make a commercial and useful smart wear. And the future research is investigated research product and application one in the direction to commercial trend of smart wear.

Pilates exercise has become increasing in popularity and has begun to have an impact in rehabilitation. Pilates is a type of designed exercise programs to fuse the mind and body so that the body benefits optimal balance, strength and health. However, Pilates research is limited due to small sample size and is not feasible for all to use. The purpose of this thesis was to investigate if a Pilates-based program is effective in improving cardiorespiratory fitness, functional movement, and vascular function in healthy female. Using a cross-sectional design, the subjects were assigned to three groups, the first group: the instructors who underwent at least 1 year pilates exercise (PEG), the second group: the instructors who underwent at least 1 year yoga exercise (YEG), the third, sedentary group (SG). The maximum oxygen consumption (VO2max), dynamic balance, flow-mediated dilation (FMD), and deep squat, hurdle step, incline lunge, shoulder mobility, active straight-leg raise, trunk stability push-up, rotary stability for functional movement test were evaluated between groups. Both PEG and YEG were significantly higher in VO2max and functional movement compared with SG. Whereas there were no differences in FMD between groups, the dynamic balance were significantly higher in PEG compared with both YEG and SG. There were no differences in resting blood pressure between groups. This study suggests that pilates is safe, easily accessible exercise program comparable to yoga program and to improve aerobic fitness, dynamic balance, and functional movement in young individuals.
