대구지역 저소득층 성인여성의 비만, 나트륨 섭취 및 식행동 특성

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among obesity, sodium intake and dietary behavior of low-income women adult in Deagu. Subject were 85 adult women from low-income classes. Dietary information was collected by 24 hrs-recall method for nonconsecutive two days including weekday and weekend and by food frequency method. The results were compared among groups classified by BMI and sodium intake level. Mean Na intake of women exceeded the recommended upper level. When we compare each food group by BMI, there was no significant differences in food intakes. By cotrast, significantly higher intake of grains and vegetables were observed in the higher sodium intake group. However, there was no significant differences of soup saltness between groups classified by sodium intake level. Soup saltness was significantly higher in obese group. This study suggested the need for continuous efforts on reducing Na intake among low income women regardless of obesity status.

This study was conducted to examine the association of dietary behaviors, serum lipid profiles according to the progression of angiographically evaluated atherosclerosis. The subjects were 32 male patients aged 59-80 yrs living in the Daegu area who underwent initial angiography for their lower extremities. We classified the subjects into two groups according to the seriousness of iliac lesions based on angiographic results : Group I (lower lesion group) and Group II (higher lesion group). Dietary habits were evaluated by 10-item questionnaires. Daily food intake of each subject was assessed by the 24-hour recall method. There were no significant differences in serum cholesterol and triglyceride levels between the two groups. The food habit score of Group II was significantly lower than that of Group I (P<0.001). Group II showed significantly lower dietary habit scores in the consumption of fish and bean product (P<0.001), seaweed product (P<0.01), and salt use (P<0.001) than those of Group I. Dietary intake of vitamin C was significantly lower in Group II (P<0.01). Our results indicate that the more serious of atherosclerotic lesions the patients had, the poorer dietary habits they exhibited. Therefore, medical nutrition therapy for atherosclerotic patients should emphasize maintaining a balanced diet by consuming more fishes, beans, and seaweed as well as by reducing salt intake.

As growing Internet shopping, a lot of deceptive behaviors of shopping mall also have been increasing. This study was to collect and classify about 1,005 consumer deception cases of the actual damage in e-commerce. The study adopted the information deception frame of Xiao and Benbasat(2011) based on the technology for manipulating information and the specific implementation techniques. After content analysis, we found consumer deception behaviors relating to no delivery, bad product, service failures, information misrepresent, mall closing, contact point deleting, contract change, false advertising, change of return policy, etc. In the view point of the technology for manipulating information, there found more falsification, and then equivocation and concealment in Korean sample. In addition, there found more manipulation of information content, and then manipulation of information presentation and manipulation of information generation in the view point of the specific implementation techniques. This study not only enhances our conceptual understanding of the deception but also suggest more effective solutions to reduce the deception in internet shopping.

Adolescence in the period requiring the largest amount of nutrients including calcium during their whole lifetime. This study was conducted to provide the direction for nutritional education to increase calcium consumption for the teenagers. We conducted a survey of 135 male students and 144 female student from 3 middle schools in Daegu. Results indicated that male students showed significantly higher intake frequency of calcium source foods(p<0.01) and higher recognition for milk and dairy products(p<0.05). When students were grouped into higher group and lower group based on the recognition for milk and dairy products, significantly higher habitual calcium intake level was observed for higher recognition group(p<0.001). According to behavior change level, students in the action phase showed higher recognition for milk and dairy products than groups(p<0.001). Thus, we concluded that it is necessary to provide reinforced nutrition education, especially for female students, with focuses on the promotion of milk and dairy products and recognition and increasing awareness of necessity for milk and dairy products intake in order to promote calcium consumption.

The dietary requirement for zinc to maintain optimally the various metabolic and physiological functions is still under study. Human beings adapt to reductions in zinc intake by reducing the rate of growth or zinc excretion. Reductions in dietary zinc beyond the capacity to maintain homeostasis lead to utilization of zinc from an exchangeable pool. Loss of a small, critical amount of zinc from this pool leads to both biochemical and clinical signs of zinc deficiency. Zinc requirements have been assessed by balance studies and factorial method. As tissue zinc status influences endogenous losses and the dietary needs, individuals in good status may require higher amounts of zinc than those in poor status. While plasma zinc is insensitive to reductions in dietary zinc, it is regarded as a valid, useful indicator of the exchangeable pool of zinc. Plasma metallothionein concentrations may prove useful for identifying poor zinc. status. It has been suggested that functional end point measurement is the new direction for zinc requirement. However, determination of the functional response to a marginal zinc intake is difficult because of the lack of a specific, sensitive indicator of zinc status. Presently, no good method for assessment of human zinc requirements exists.
